After swallowing the pill, Gu Chen lay on the bed to rest but ended up sleeping off almost instantly. It turned out he was more exhausted than he thought.
Unknown to him, his body was currently releasing a terrifying pressure due to the effects of the pill spreading within his body.
.....
The sky was no longer as bright as before, and a large moon was already rising in the distance. The evening wind swept through the air, causing Feng Shuran’s beautiful white hair to fly in the air as she rode her flying sword towards the location of one of the sky mirror formation cores.
The three cores of the formation were located on three different mountain peaks, causing them to form a triangular formation around the five peaks when activated at the same time.
Feng Shuran flew unhurriedly towards one of the mountain peaks, but before she could reach it, an overwhelming aura swept past her.
It felt like a touch of lightning. Feng Shuran, who was at the Nascent Soul Realm, was unable to sustain herself in the air and dropped to the ground while gasping heavily.
One of her hands was pressed on her chest as she stared at the sole mountain peak behind her with awe in her eyes.
"Master," she mumbled in a daze. The source of this overwhelming aura was coming from that mountain, and it belonged to her Master; he was the only one there currently, so it definitely had to be him.
She already knew he was an Immortal after learning that he was enemies with the Seven Realms Alliance, but this aura was beyond her expectations. He didn’t target her directly, yet she felt suffocated just from being within range.
Just how strong was her Master?
It took Feng Shuran some time to regain her bearing and steady her breathing; she didn’t realise it, but she was already sweating heavily by the time she stood up.
With a helpless smile on her lips, she rose into the air again and continued flying towards the location of the first core of the sky mirror formation.
What Feng Shuran didn’t know was that the aura of the Eternal Youth Immortality Pill didn’t just cover the former Dae Qu sect, or even Otefe.
The aura of the pill had covered the entire region!
Every single cultivator inside Oghara dropped to the ground the moment the aura swept past them. All of them gasped for air while some weaker ones directly passed out on the spot.
That evening, all the major forces in Oghara called an urgent meeting in their various territories to talk about this overwhelming aura.
Some suggested that it might have been a passing Immortal. Others said it could be that some top powerhouses were fighting nearby and the shockwave from their battle had reached Oghara, while some seriously believed that it was the appearance of a natural Heavenly or even Immortal-grade treasure!
Whatever the reason was, none of them dared to go out and investigate immediately.
....
Back at the five mountain peaks. Feng Shuran arrived at the first core of the barrier.
It was located on a concrete slab in the middle of one of the five peaks. The platform was several meters wide, and the area around it was well taken care of, making it impossible to miss.
In the middle of the platform, strange runes were carved into the concrete in a circular order.
Feng Shuran couldn’t make out what the runes meant as she wasn’t an expert in formations, but she could clearly see how the lines connected, or at least were supposed to connect.
But at the moment, several shallow marks had been slashed across their surfaces; they were sword marks.
Although the cuts weren’t deep, they still distorted the original outline of the runes.
Without a change in expression, a long iron sword appeared in Feng Shuran’s right hand, and she slashed at the platform with it.
Clang!
The tip of the sword made contact with the concrete and instantly shattered into several pieces without even leaving a mark on the platform. Feng Shuran stared at the now half-blade in her hand, not too surprised.
This platform obviously wasn’t made of just ordinary concrete since the core of a formation was placed here; it would be too easy to destroy otherwise.
This sword was an ordinary weapon, so it was natural that it couldn’t do anything to the platform.
She casually tossed the broken sword away before summoning another one. This one was a long blade with a jade hilt; it used to belong to the Core Formation Realm old elder she had killed earlier today and was an Earth-grade magical weapon, the same as Shuran’s silver threads.
Feng Shuran had found it inside his storage pouch after killing him.
Holding the sword, Feng Shuran slashed at the concrete again. Her hand accurately guided the tip of the sword to the lines of the runes.
Swish!
Swish!
Swish!
Her hand moved quickly as she deepened the lines of the runes, making the entire formation more vivid on the platform and the previous attempt to destroy it almost impossible to notice.
After half a minute, Feng Shuran stood and looked at the runes. She had cut the lines deeper into the platform and connected the lines; it was a clean job.
She nodded in satisfaction before flying towards the next one.
During the next five minutes, Feng Shuran did the same thing to the other two cores of the barrier, finally repairing them.
Now finished with the repairs, Feng Shuran activated her cultivated technique, and two clones of her appeared. The two clones looked exactly like her in every way that it was impossible to tell who the real Feng Shuran was.
The only difference between the three Feng Shurans at the moment was that only one of them was holding a jade sword.
The two clones stared at Feng Shuran without saying a word and suddenly flew away, both heading for the two cores that Feng Shuran had repaired not long ago, while the original Shuran remained at the third one.
She stood there for a while, waiting for her clones to arrive. A few seconds passed, and the clones reached the other two platforms.
Feng Shuran made the sword disappear and stood directly above the rune on the platform. Her two clones did the same thing; their actions were in perfect sync.
Well, it was only natural since both of them were Shurans.
On three platforms, three white-haired beauties moved their hands and released qi into the runes under their feet.
The platforms buzzed as if coming to life and started absorbing the qi at a slow speed. The runes slowly started glowing as the lines lit up one after the other.
Some time later, three bright lights shot out from the platform and rose into the air like shooting stars.
Whoosh!
The lights from the platforms rose hundreds of meters into the air before stopping and then connecting with each other, forming a triangle in the airspace of the five mountain peaks.
With the three lights as pillars and the triangle as the ceiling, an almost invisible yellow barrier spread out and covered the five mountain peaks.
This scene naturally attracted the attention of everyone in Otefe; even though the mountains and the town weren’t that close, the barrier was just that big enough.
And since it was approaching nighttime, the lights were especially dazzling.
"Eh, it’s the Dae Qu sect! What’s happening over there?"
"Are they under attack? Why activate the barrier?"
"Could it be the invisible killer?"
Many residents of Otefe wondered out loud as they stared at the huge barrier in the distance, all of them filled with awe.
