Seconds went by slowly as he kept staring at the new system page; his face seemed to have frozen with that expression. After about ten seconds, Gu Chen’s eyes gradually dimmed.
He closed his eyes while closing the system at the same time, before taking several deep breaths to calm himself down.
Gu Chen wasn’t feeling well. He believed that if it had been when he was still a cultivator, he would have gotten an inner demon from what he just saw.
He was so pissed but forced himself to calm down, just breathing with his eyes closed.
One had to know that a Heavenly-grade magical treasure was sold at around 10,000mp by the system, which Gu Chen believed was a fair price earlier.
In the real world, the same treasure was sold at around 5000 to 10,000 low-grade spirit stones since they were mostly only used by cultivators below the Spirit Transformation Realm.
At the same time, 1000 low-grade spirit stones were equivalent to one mid-grade spirit stone, while 1000 mid-grade spirit stones were only one high-grade spirit stone!

While Gu Chen was still trying to calm himself down, he heard Feng Shuran’s voice coming from the courtyard outside.
She had returned from searching the five mountain peaks that used to belong to the Dae Qu sect.
He opened his eyes and invited her into the room, not getting up from the bed.
Feng Shuran walked into the room, her eyes darting around like a kid who had just entered a playground.
’So this is Master’s room,’ she thought excitedly.
Her gaze only roamed for a bit before settling on Gu Chen, who was sitting on the bed with a tired expression on his face. He looked like he had done something very tedious.
"Master!" Feng Shuran called out again and moved towards him like a gust of wind, directly sitting on the bed next to Gu Chen with just a little space between their bodies.
Gu Chen turned his head and looked at the woman sitting beside him with a raised eyebrow; she was so close that he could smell the sweet fragrance coming off of her. It was like staying close to a bundle of fresh flowers.
Feng Shuran didn’t smell like someone who had gone on a killing spree just a while ago.
Noticing Gu Chen’s stare, the woman looked at him and showed a big smile before waving one of her hands.
Several objects appeared on the ground the next moment. There were boxes, pouches of different colours, and some old books.
Gu Chen stared at the items on the floor while Feng Shuran started giving her report. After searching the five mountain peaks, she had found over a hundred thousand low-grade spirit stones and several million gold coins, including the ones she reclaimed after killing the elders of the Dae Qu sect, of course.
There were also some formation plates, formation flags, and several precious herbs amongst the things she had found.
The books were the martial arts and cultivation techniques used by the disciples of the Dae Qu sect. There were also the sect logs that recorded the dealings of the sect through the recent years. Feng Shuran hadn’t studied them yet before coming to report to Gu Chen.
There were a lot of other books in the sect’s library, but Feng Shuran felt they weren’t too important, so she left them there; they were not going to disappear anyways.
Feng Shuran also reported about the weapons that she found. Many of them were ordinary weapons, and only a few that she had gotten from the elders were at the Mortal and Earth grade.
"Master, I also found a diagram of the barrier protecting the five mountain peaks. After checking it out, it looked like those elders had tried to destroy cores of the formation before fleeing.
Thankfully, the damage wasn’t too high and I can fix it." Feng Shuran said. The Dae Qu sect had the sky mirror formation, a powerful formation that would take even a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator some effort to break through while blocking attacks from inside.
As for why they hadn’t used it and had opted to escape instead, it was because the formation required three cultivators who were at least at the Core Formation Realm to activate it. They could then burn a large amount of spirit stones or provide their own qi to sustain it.
But Feng Shuran had killed the previous sect leader while Gu Chen had killed Su Zhui, leaving just one Core Formation Realm cultivator in the Dae Qu sect.
Naturally, he couldn’t activate the formation by himself, so he fled.
However, this wasn’t an issue for Feng Shuran, who was at the Nascent Soul Realm. She could use her cultivation technique to form clones of herself, and all of them were at the Nascent Soul Realm too.
Not only could she activate it, but the strength of the barrier would also improve greatly since she was a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator.
Gu Chen nodded after listening to Feng Shuran’s report. While the resources gathered weren’t much in his opinion, it was enough considering the region they were in.
He ordered her to keep everything for now; they would become the starting fund for their organisation.
"I understand, Master." Feng Shuran said before standing up. She asked if Gu Chen had any instructions for her; if not, she wanted to go repair the damaged formation cores first.
Gu Chen didn’t have anything he needed her to do, so he allowed her to leave. Besides, it was getting late, and he was feeling tired.
The stress from being chased by wild beasts and walking for so many minutes was finally catching up; Gu Chen wanted to rest.
But before that, he raised his right hand and a small colourful pill appeared between his fingers.
It was the Eternal Youth Immortality Pill that he had gotten from the system earlier.
Gu Chen studied the pill for a while; aside from the coolness on his fingers, he couldn’t feel anything else.
Shaking his head, Gu Chen sighed and placed the pill into his mouth.
The moment the pill touched his tongue, it dissolved into a wave of cool mist that rushed down his throat.
A surprised look appeared on Gu Chen’s face after he swallowed the pill.
