"Criminals that he should be able to kill easily." Ye Zhenyu scoffed before leaving his chair and getting out of his room. He did not like the decision but the majority of the elders seemed intent on not going any further.

"What about the Sect? They said he would be leaving in a few months." Ye Canglan questioned the remaining elders. If he could convince the majority of them then the punishment could be called off.
"We will tell them he needs a year or two for clan bonding. They will understand it." The elder who had suggested the punishment replied.
"He’s already leaving? We need to manage our relationships with him before he leaves." Another one nodded in agreement. If Ye Yaming was the one going then they had to form a bond first.
"Yes! We need to bond before he leaves." All of them were aware of the boy’s great talent and the incident that the disciple gave him a technique already only reinforced their conviction.
And what better way than to secretly help a boy imprisoned with criminals? Would a seven year old, no matter how smart, forget that favour?
"It will serve as a form of training." One of the elders added.
Ye Canglan left the room, unwilling to argue. They had their personal agendas on their mind.

The other Elders discussed among them for a while until the topic about the two who had tagged along with Ye Feng came up.
"What to do with those two? Kill them?" One of them asked. Neither Ye Canglan nor Ye Zhenyu seemed to care for the lives of two.
"They are our blood. Put them in jail. They will come out after five years." Killing the two when they had only tagged along did not seem right.
"Agreed." They agreed with the decision.
"They have fought the demonic faction for the family so we can’t kill them." They had been part of clan fighters for a long while. It would not set a good example if they punished the two so severely.
"Jail should be appropriate punishment for them." It was decided that the two would be jailed with Ye Yaming in the very same place.

’So, I am getting imprisoned with the same men who tried to assassinate me?’ Ya Yaming glanced at the guard who seemed to be indifferent to the injustice done to Ye Yaming and announced the decision taken by clan elders.
"Follow me." The guard walked ahead of Ye Yaming.
"Are there more people my age in there?" He was not sure about the size of the prison. Considering that the Ye clan wasn’t a really big clan, he expected an empty cell.
"What do you think? We imprison the murderers, demon faction people and some rival nobles in the jail." The guard sneered at Ye Yaming’s innocent question.
People his age? Kids? If there were any then they probably didn’t survive for a week because he never saw one when giving them food.
"How many criminals are in there?" He asked. If the prison was really as crowded as the guard... he couldn’t think anymore.
"We handle the supervision of four nearby clan’s criminals in that big jail. You won’t be lonely down there." The Ye clan, thanks to their Beast Soul’s ability, could fly in the air. They also had the knack for sensing trouble.
All the ally clans had handed down their prisoners to them.
"I see." The place didn’t seem hospitable. He circulated the Beast Qi in his body but his decision to attack the guard wavered.
Just one accident had left him with a year of imprisonment. If he really tried to attack the guard and got caught, the consequences would be not something he could bear.
’I could kill him but what next?’ He decided to drop his idea reluctantly.
"Don’t we have a lack of people in the clan?" The clan was supposed to be mid-sized, small with few warriors. How could they manage prisoners of multiple clans?
"Oh? You’re very informed! We just don’t feed them regularly, dying of starvation keeps them in check." The guard didn’t seem reserved when speaking about the prison.
"You.. should learn to eat fast." He suggested Ye Yaming try to eat quickly when in the prison.

"This is it?" He glanced at the underground structure as he followed a different guard. He had been handed two loaves of bread to survive the first week.
"This is a member of the Ye clan. He is going to come out in a year at most. Don’t try to mess with him."
The underground prison reeked of filth.
There were some men he could see but after hearing the guard’s stern warning they stopped eyeing him. It appeared that the guard had managed to instill fear in the prisoners.
"Boy, if you want to live, hand over that bread." The guard had barely gone out of their sight when a menacing bald man walked closer to Ye Yaming and threatened.
The other men around them just sneered, watching the show.
"Sure. Catch it!" He threw the bread loaves at the bald man. The man did not seem surprised and caught the loaves with a smug grin on his face, showing off to the others.
The prison was huge and with time there was already an established hierarchy and rules. The transactions made in the prison were safe as long as they traded a portion of the trade to the guy at the top.
He had shown guts and he would be taking one loaf while another would go to the leader. ’Idiots! They were really scared by a guard’s warning.’ He turned his head to look at the idiots who were too cautious for their own good and sneered at them.
’Why are they sneering?’ He glanced back hurriedly to check on the boy but it was already too late.
