However, the crowd seemed to be noticing this interaction. So, Ye Wuji walked them back to the clan, taking them to the inner residence to notify the elders of the incident.
...
"Why didn’t I feel bad about the kids lying? I can understand that they are kids and it’s a simple lie, not intentionally..." Ye Yaming muttered to himself as he was seated in his room.
Back at the inner residence, the two boys remained silent since Ye Yaming seemed to be dealing well with Ye Wuji, they left the responsibility of dealing with the clan elder to him.
And obviously, the leader for this outing became none other than Ye Yaming. However, this time, the elder explicitly asked the two boys about the incident. Both of them looked at each other then at Ye Yaming before claiming that it was Ye Yaming’s idea to go outside and they just followed.
The elder didn’t reprimand him but warned to not do this again citing the tension in the surroundings after the recent incidents.
They had around 300 members including the Outer, and Inner residences. The combat capable clan members were even less, not more than 70 and they had lost two of the higher ranked clan members in the last few months.
So, his warnings were right, genuine. It was really not safe for the young boys like them to be travelling alone in such times.
"Leave it be, I better train." He sighed and decided to focus on his task. So what if he felt a little detached from human emotions? He was rational, there was no point resenting the boys.
He had to boost his talent to multiple times the average person and for that he needed to keep training.
...
A month later,
Physical Talent: 800
Spiritual Talent: 900
Mental Talent: 800
Bloodline: Mutant Raven.
Beast Mastery: Stage 1 (300%)
Beast Qi: 1200
Ye Clan Fist technique: Mastered (100%)
Basic Cultivation Technique: Mastered (100%)
Qi refining level 1
Pure Qi: 90
...
He had improved by a lot in the last month of training. His talents were around eight to nine times the average person already.
His Beast Qi also increased by a lot, that too without training. It appeared to be a perk of digesting another Beast Soul.
His Pure Qi, however, lagged behind. He was still in the Qi Refining realm level 1. But then again, most of his time went to stopping the internal clash between the Pure Qi and Beast Qi. If not for that, he would have already reached the next level.
The internal Qi clash of the two different energies was not without any perk. His control over his Qi as well as the Beast Mastery percentage increased by a lot.
He had not yet sparred with anyone but he was sure that his combat strength had more than doubled from a month ago.
...
Now that he had already accomplished so much, the only thing lacking was a proper technique to train.
He had once again reached the absolute limit of his talent and there was no increment anymore.
’There is nobody dying either.’ Unfortunately for Ye Yaming, he had waited a lot for the news of another death, another funeral to attend but the news never arrived. It appeared as though all the fights with the demonic faction had ceased to exist. There were no casualties anymore.
Taking his chances, he even roamed around the other funeral site. The clan members had one funeral site but the commoner working in the clan and other servants had a separate site. The death of common people, even a normal warrior without a Beast Soul did not seem to be of any help to his mutated Raven bloodline.
The only path left to him was to go out and travel to the location of the fight but he was not strong enough to survive there. At best, he could run away from a Third-rate warrior with ease.
’I should focus on cultivation. I should try getting to level 2 of the Qi refining realm first.’ He thought to himself as he sat to begin his cultivation. But his desire to grow his talent further rebounded like a withdrawal symptom.
He could not focus. So, he decided to take a walk around the clan estate. He was very close to level 2. It would not take him more than 2 days to get there with his talent.
...
A number of warriors rushed into the inner residence and shouted. They were all in a hurry, carrying a small handmade carriage on their shoulders with a person inside it. "Call the elders!!"
One of them saw Ye Yaming coming closer to take a look but looking at the blood in the makeshift carriage and the gruesome injury on the person they were carrying, he warned the boy sternly to not come close with his eyes.
He thought that with their bloodstained attire from the fight and their heavy auras, the boy would make way for them but Ye Yaming did not seem to be scared or even wary of them.
"Hey boy! Move to the side." The man loudly warned, not wanting to scar the boy with the scenes of war so early. They had come from a fight where the son of Elder Zhenyu, Ye Mochen had valiantly fought an opponent from a demonic faction.
The opponent was a First-rate warrior while Ye Mochen was only a Peak Second-rate warrior. Still, Ye Mochen stopped the opponent for a while until Ye Xuanming, the only First-rate warrior of their clan, reached there to save them.
Unfortunately for Ye Mochen, the injury was too severe and they did not have doctors to instantly treat him. The clash against that demonic warrior had left a lot of residual Qi in Ye Mochen’s body and it seemed impossible to cure. He could still be saved, though.
They brought him back home, hoping the other elders would have something to save him. The chances of him being able to go back to the warrior path was miniscule but at least he could keep his life if doctors attended to him.
