A week after the Ye clan received a letter from Azure Sky Sect Elder.
Ye Yaming had come out of his courtyard. The reason behind it was none other than the servant being ignorant and not bringing him his meal.
It was not rare for him to have to get meals some of the days because of such incidents. However, he decided to just walk to the cook himself and get his food.
"Hey! Brother Yaming!" On his way, the cheerful Ye Ziyang greeted him loudly, calling him with both his hands in the air and waving them excitedly so that Yaming doesn’t miss the chubby figure in between the adults.
"Ziyang?" Ye Yaming glanced at the differently dressed cousin of his and looked slightly confused.
’Doesn’t his clothes look slightly off?’ He was not the one to judge someone on the basis of dress but when a young boy like Ye Ziyang dressed himself to cover everything from his head to toe then it kind of give off the weird vibes.
Was he trying to play a ninja? Ye Yaming thought for a second before discarding the thought.
"Where are you off to? Alone?" He asked Ye Ziyang. Normally, he was a chatty boy and always kept a friend or two around with him. Especially Ye Wuchen.
This time, however, he seemed to be alone in the busy clan estate.
Yes, they were still within the boundaries of their clan residence. The market of the city, outside of the clan, was still behind the walls of the clan.
"Just around the wall. Do you want to come along?" Ye Ziyang spoke softly as he invited Ye Yaming. Leaning into his ears, he looked around before he slowly whispered "Brother Wuchen and I are going to the market." The young Ziyang seemed nervous but also excited as he invited Ye Yaming to his secret trip.
"Ohh? Sure, I will tag along." Ye Yaming agreed instantly.
No wonder he is so weirdly dressed. He is trying to mix in with the common population in the market. He thought as glanced at Ye Ziyang’s outfit once again.
The outside world still had a large population of mortals who never treaded the warrior path. There were other occupations and people lived naturally within their professional confines.
Ye Ziyang and Ye Wuchen seemed to have planned to see such a market on their own, secretly. Their guardians most likely did not know. Since Ye Yaming had not eaten, he decided to try something from the market instead.
Following Ye Ziyang’s calculated instructions, both of them reached a wall without any guards and easily climbed over it.
On the other side of the wall, Ye Yaming saw Te Wuchen dressed in a similar attire to that of Ye Ziyang. He understood the identity of the person behind the cloak they were wearing.
’Well, they are only 7-8 years old.’ Ye Yaming thought as he ignored the attire.
"You came too?" Ye Wuchen, however, looked very proud that someone like Yaming had followed his plan and wanted to be a part of it.
Obviously, he didn’t reject Ye Yaming’s participation and smugly tilted his head slightly upward as he leaded them into the market.
"Yes, I called brother Yaming." Ye Ziyang proudly added, feeling like the vice leader of their group of three.
"Couldn’t resist going to the market, huh?" Ye Wuchen smirked as he led the group to the main market, walking ahead of Ye Ziyang and Ye Yaming.
He had been to the market a few times and was pretty familiar with the route.
He showcased his knowledge as he showed them different stalls with many products. There were snacks, fruits, and even some clothes in the market.
"This looks good, give me three of them." Ye Yaming bought the roasted meat with his own money before giving Ziyang and Wuchen one.
Since he was here, he might as well try out the food. He also gave Ye Ziyang and Ye Wuchen a portion each which they happily accepted.
But the happy outing did not last long. Soon enough, a resident of the Outer clan spotted them and made them stop.
When questioned why they were outside and alone, both of them simultaneously looked at Ye Yaming.
"So, you planned all this!" The outer clansman muttered, looking unkindly at Ye Yaming. He was also aware of the boy being too smart for his age and the other two kids’ reaction made it easy to guess.
The clan recently experienced two deaths and the other clans around them were waiting for a chance to strike them but the boys here were happily going on outings instead of training.
The outer Clansman Ye Wuji seemed enraged.
"Aren’t you the smartest here? Why didn’t you stop them?" Ye Wuji asked Ye Yaming even after the boy had explained that it was not his plan.
The other two boys appeared guilty but they neither accepted nor denied Ye Yaming’s claims.
"What has that to do with me? I wanted to come. So, I came." Ye Yaming stared Ye Wuji into the eye and politely replied. The outer clansman was just frustrated by something and wanted to vent it out.
Unlike the other two, the orphan Ye Yaming without any guardians seemed like a good target for his anger.
"You!!" Ye Wuji seemed enraged after hearing Ye Yaming speak. He used his Beast Qi, trying to intimidate the boy with his aura.
"Who are you to boss around me? You’re a Third-rate warrior who can’t even fight!" Instead of being intimidated, Ye Yaming glanced at Ye Wuji and spoke with a condescending tone.
Ye Wuji further intensified his aura. Unfortunately for him, it was not at all bothering Ye Yaming. His Beast Qi reserves were nearly double if not more than that of Ye Wuji.
However, the crowd seemed to be noticing this interaction. So, Ye Wuji walked them back to the clan, taking them to the inner residence to notify the elders of the incident.
