The next day, Chi Zaozao was absent-minded all day.
Tang Wanjun picked her up from school and took her mountain climbing, and then they reviewed lessons on the mountain.
But for some reason, she had no mind to study today; Tang Wanjun explained several problems, but she didn’t take any of it in.
The man seemed to notice, and suddenly threw a chestnut at Chi Zaozao’s forehead.
“Ow?” yelped Chi Zaozao, rubbing her forehead and glaring at Tang Wanjun, “What was that for?”
“What’s with you today?
You’re completely out of it!”
Chi Zaozao buried her head in her book, sighing, “I’m just frustrated.”
Young Master Tang frowned, “What happened?”
Chi Zaozao suddenly looked up, stared at Tang Wanjun, blinked, and with a pout asked, “Can I ask you a question?
You have to answer me honestly, okay?”
Young Master Tang nodded, “Ask.”
“What kind of women do men like?”
She thought to herself, if it’s about beauty, she wasn’t ugly, and, what’s more, she had a pretty good figure.
What kind of girls do men actually like?
She really wanted to know.
“Chi Zaozao, we’re studying now; why is your mind wandering to such vulgar questions?”
Tang Wanjun scolded.
Chi Zaozao sighed, looking completely distressed, “I just want to know if he likes me or not.
If he doesn’t, he should at least say so.
He’s always so cold, and doesn’t even reply when I talk to him.”
“The ‘he’ you’re talking about, is it Ye Que?”
He hoped Chi Zaozao would shake her head, but the girl definitively told him, “Yes, who else could it be?”
“Impossible!” Tang Wanjun blurted out.
Chi Zaozao looked at him in surprise, “What’s impossible?”
Chi Zaozao didn’t notice the shadow that fell over Young Master Tang’s face, nor the thin layer of frost that added a chill to his expression.
“I mean, he could never like a woman like you.”
Chi Zaozao felt a pang in her chest and with a fallen face she challenged Tang Wanjun, “What kind of woman am I?
Why can’t he like someone like me?”
Laying a contemptuous gaze over Chi Zaozao, Young Master Tang was blunt, “Not to mention he’s ten years older than you, and besides, look at yourself; you’re not busty nor curvy, what is there to attract a man’s eye?
Do you know what men love most about women?”
Chi Zaozao was heartbroken, glaring at Tang Wanjun with gritted teeth, “What do men love most about women?”
“Big breasts!”
“…” Big breasts?
Chi Zaozao looked down, her gaze fixed on her own chest, and wearing her school uniform, it seemed, probably, that there wasn’t even a hint of a bump to be seen.
Grinding her teeth and with a choked fury, she glared at Tang Wanjun, “You’re talking nonsense, he wouldn’t be that vulgar.”
“Haha!” Tang Wanjun laughed softly, stood up and walked over with his back to her, “Chi Zaozao, you’re just a magpie with long hair and short sight, raised in a golden birdcage, totally unaware of how bustling the outside world is or how enchantingly feminine women can be.”
“…”
Tang Wanjun turned to look at her, his eyebrows slightly raised, “How about I take you to see for yourself?”
Chi Zaozao was confused, “Where are we going to see?”
The man smirked, picked up the backpack, slung it over his shoulder, and led Chi Zaozao away.
“You’ll know when we get there.”
The two got in the car, and the vehicle went straight to Ningdu City’s most famous bar district.
