In that place where visibility was impossible.

The silhouette chewed for about half an hour, and the figure on the glass wall stopped chewing.

It must have eaten something, then reached out beside it and picked up a piece of clothing.Full novel: Mysterious Revival: Card Maker — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was an ancient Shroud, not in a modern style, looking like something only the deceased buried long ago would wear.

The emaciated body seemed mismatched with the garment, but the figure appeared very satisfied, slowly and carefully putting it on.

If anyone were present, they might vaguely see a row of ferocious teeth in this person's mouth through the reflection on the glass.

After putting on the Shroud, the figure bent down and slowly took out a Card from the Golden Box.

It looked at the Card, tilting its head slightly, as if contemplating what the Card was, or perhaps receiving some kind of signal.

It could be seen that the word "Flash" was written on that Card.

After a while, the figure placed the Card on itself and walked toward the dark corridor outside.

Black and blue gloom enveloped it, and finally, the figure disappeared along with the gloom.

Si Ye was unaware of all this.

For the most part, he spent his time in his room, occasionally visiting Yang Jian and Wang Xiaoming, and basically never leaving the scope of the Guanjiang Residential Area.

His physical condition was not good; having only controlled one Fierce Ghost, he could not quickly balance the Fierce Ghosts within his body.

If he were to use too much Supernatural power in a short period, the situation he would face next would be even more terrifying than before.

However, Si Ye had not been idle during this time.

At the very least, he had already figured out most of the situation in the Guanjiang Residential Area.

"I just don't know when Yang Jian plans to leave, giving me a chance to visit the Ghost Cabinet," Si Ye pondered with a frown.

It wasn't that he wanted to trade with the Ghost Cabinet, but rather he wanted to try if he could use Pickpocket on the Ghost Cabinet.

During this period, Yang Jian and Wang Xiaoming often gathered together, which Si Ye was aware of.

The time when Yang Jian would leave, causing the Headless Ghost Shadow to freeze, was not far off.

Unfortunately, in the eyes of others, Si Ye was just a Newcomer, so Wang Xiaoming and the Headquarters did not factor him into many matters.

This meant Si Ye couldn't get any new information at all.

But soon, after waiting another two days, he received news that Yang Jian needed to leave for a period of time.

"Has this time finally come?"

Si Ye looked towards the villa where Yang Jian was, but he did not rush to the Old House where the Ghost Cabinet was located.

Instead, he waited until most of the residents of the Guanjiang Residential Area had left before heading in the direction of the Old House.

Entering the Old House, a damp, rotten smell assaulted him. This odor, combined with the strange architectural structure of the Old House, made the Passage appear extremely dark.

Passing through the first room, Si Ye stopped before a brass door.

The brass door had no keyhole; the entire large door was sealed shut, as if the person who built this place did not want this door to be opened casually.

Si Ye thought for a moment and decided to directly pry open the brass door.

He did not wish to conflict with Yang Jian, mainly because Yang Jian was crucial to whether the Starvation Ghost Incident could be resolved.

The Ghost Cabinet had only been noticed by Yang Jian after the Starvation Ghost Incident, so he was not worried about that.

Prying open the lock, inside was a small room, not large.

In the room, there was only one old cabinet, its paint peeled off, revealing the wooden color, dim and aged.

Other than that, there was a small table.

On the table, someone had carved a line of text with a carving knife.

"You will possess everything, and you will lose everything; be extremely cautious."

Si Ye glanced casually, took out a notebook from his pocket, tore off a piece of paper, wrote a passage, and placed it inside the Ghost Cabinet.

Although he didn't want to trade with the Ghost Cabinet, it didn't mean he had to avoid communicating with it.

Through communication with the Ghost Cabinet, he might still be able to obtain some intelligence.

"Who are you?" Si Ye wrote this and placed it in the Ghost Cabinet's drawer.

But in less than ten seconds, this paper strangely fell out from the gap beneath the cabinet.

On the white paper, besides Si Ye's previous question, there was a black, crooked character underneath it: Ghost.

After thinking for a moment, Si Ye decided to write this sentence directly.

"If I want to use Pickpocket on you, how many Cards are required as payment?"

This question was not written by Si Ye randomly; it was a possibility he had considered.

He was unsure of the Ghost Cabinet's strength, nor was he sure how many Cards should be the cost for Pickpocket.

However, the Ghost Cabinet seemed to have an innate understanding of many things and could know such matters through certain trading rules.

So, could he directly ask the other party how many Cards the Ghost Cabinet required?

As Si Ye placed this Card down, the Ghost Cabinet quickly provided an answer.

"Give me one Flash and one Ghost Infant Rocking Horse."

"Only two Cards to meet the cost of using Pickpocket on the Ghost Cabinet?" Si Ye's gaze towards the Ghost Cabinet couldn't help but show confusion.

According to his thoughts, a Fierce Ghost like the Ghost Cabinet, with its strange rules and seemingly omnipotent nature, should require quite a few Cards.

"No way. I spent one Card just to Suppress a Fourth stage ghost infant. Normally, I should need two or three Cards for a Fourth stage ghost infant."

"It makes no sense that the Ghost Cabinet only requires two Cards."

Si Ye's pupils suddenly widened, and when he looked at the Ghost Cabinet, his eyes showed apprehension.

The Ghost Cabinet was plotting something else.

What the Ghost Cabinet just said was to give it one Flash and one Ghost Infant Rocking Horse, which meant that after using Pickpocket, the cost would be sent to the other party.

It was more appropriate to call it a trade than Pickpocket.

Si Ye would use a certain number of Cards to form a contract with a specific Ghost, and then he could spend Cards to borrow that Ghost's ability.

Si Ye then recalled that the Ghost Infant Rocking Horse Card clearly stated that he was using one Card to rent the Ghost Infant for ten minutes.

Note, it was renting, not summoning.

This implied that when using related Cards in the future, it was very likely still a method of borrowing the abilities of these Fierce Ghosts through trade.

The Ghost Infant Rocking Horse could summon a Ghost to help, and the Ghost Cabinet was asking him for one Flash and one Ghost Infant Rocking Horse.

Its purpose was self-evident.

The Ghost Cabinet was bizarre and omnipotent, but it had a huge limitation: it could not move freely.

With the Ghost Infant Rocking Horse Card, the Ghost Cabinet could summon a Ghost Infant to help it move itself.

Although it was only for ten minutes, as long as Si Ye used a Card related to the Ghost Cabinet in the future, he could bring it new Cards, allowing it to continue using the Ghost Infant Rocking Horse's ability.

Having almost fallen for the Trap set by the Ghost Cabinet, Si Ye glanced at the Ghost Cabinet with lingering fear and decisively rejected the condition.

"I will not give you the Ghost Infant Rocking Horse. Just tell me how many Cards are needed to use Pickpocket on you, or forget it,"

Si Ye wrote this and placed it in the Ghost Cabinet's drawer.
