Watching Zhao Kaiming disappear into the darkness, Si Ye did not immediately emerge.
He waited for ten minutes until the effect of the Card 'Hide in the Cabinet' wore off before stepping out.
Looking around, confirming Zhao Kaiming was gone, Si Ye quickly walked toward his residence.
"As expected, the Star card was obtained by the Starving Ghost, and based on Zhao Kaiming's description, that card probably hasn't lost its effect."
Si Ye frowned; Zhao Kaiming's appearance confirmed one thing.
If a Card was normally discarded by Si Ye, even if it hadn't taken effect, it would lose its effect after a certain period.
However, Cards sent out via Card trading could be held by the trader for a long time.
"This means the Ghost Cabinet now possesses four Cards, and the Starving Ghost has one. I just don't know if the Starving Ghost can use it."
The target Si Ye used Pickpocket on was the Fourth Stage Ghost Infant, not the Starving Ghost.
"I hope this doesn't cause any interference when Yang Jian is being contained."
Si Ye looked at the pitch-black sky outside the window, his expression growing solemn.
If the containment of the Starving Ghost failed, he would have no way to escape.
Although the ghost power he controlled was special, he did not possess a Ghost Domain.
Moreover, even if he had a Ghost Domain, very few Ghost Domains could break through the Starving Ghost's Ghost Domain.
Time slowly passed. After the incident with Zhao Kaiming, Si Ye encountered no other serious issues; at most, a few Ghost Infants accidentally wandered into Guanjiang Residential Area.
Finally, two days later, Yang Jian arrived once again.
Si Ye saw that streak of Red Light illuminating the vicinity of Guanjiang Residential Area.
"Long time no see. It seems you succeeded," Si Ye said softly, sensing the faint gaze coming from the Red Light.
"Judging by your condition, you seem to be doing quite well."
A figure emerged from the Red Light—it was Yang Jian, but now he exuded an unpleasant odor: Corpse Odor.
Instead, Si Ye could feel a suppressive aura emanating from Yang Jian, similar to facing a genuine Fierce Ghost.
"Is this the change brought about by the Ghost System Crash? Even without using supernatural powers, he gives off a terrifying feeling," Si Ye pondered internally.
"While you were gone, I encountered Zhao Kaiming." After a brief moment of thought, Si Ye decided to relay this information to Yang Jian.
"Zhao Kaiming?" Yang Jian's expression stiffened, coldness in his eyes.
"How did you survive?"
"By choosing to run, of course," Si Ye waved his hand casually.
"At that time, Zhao Kaiming came after me with over a dozen Ghost Infants. I stood no chance."
"As expected, the Starvation Ghost Incident is connected to that fellow Zhao Kaiming in some way." Yang Jian's face darkened slightly; Si Ye's words further verified his existing speculation.
"Oh right, judging by your appearance, you seem ready to risk everything. I have controlled one ghost, but against the Starving Ghost, it might be suppressed to the point where even the ghost within my body cannot be used, rendering it useless for assistance," Si Ye suddenly said.
"So, there is something I need to remind you about: the Starving Ghost possesses one of my Cards."
Si Ye took out a Star card and spread it open before Yang Jian.
（Action Card）Star: After use, it can evade one impending Supernatural Attack.
"Using this card guarantees evasion of one attack. The Starving Ghost possessing this card might cause trouble for your upcoming actions, potentially leading to failure."
"A very unique ability." Yang Jian looked at the Card and reached out to take it for a closer look.
Si Ye blocked Yang Jian's reaching hand: "Don't move. If a Card like this suddenly leaves my hand, it will lose its effect."
Seeing this, Yang Jian didn't press for an explanation, only looking at Si Ye: "Since you proactively warned me about this, you must have a countermeasure, right?"
"If your Card can appear in the Starving Ghost's hands, then it should also be able to appear in mine for me to use."
"I'm not sure if the Starving Ghost can use it, but the Card didn't disappear after leaving me, so I need to devise a way to deal with it beforehand," Si Ye shook his head.
"If you fail, I don't think I can survive the Starvation Ghost Incident either."
"Alright, then tell me your countermeasures." Yang Jian nodded. Although he had only known Si Ye for a short time, survival was their shared goal.
"I might use a form of supernatural power on you next, but you should have already noticed the changes in your body," Si Ye said solemnly.
"I hope you can actively cooperate with me and not resist the supernatural means I use on you; otherwise, it will be difficult for me to influence you, and even if possible, it will come at a great cost."
Hearing Si Ye's words, Yang Jian instinctively felt a degree of suspicion, his gaze becoming wary.
"No need to be so tense. You might be worried that Zhao Kaiming tampered with me, but you can rest assured."
Seeing Yang Jian's expression, Si Ye didn't mind. For a Ghost Controller, not resisting someone using supernatural powers on their body was extremely difficult.
"If I truly intended to harm you, I would only need to conceal this information. This hidden Card would be enough to disrupt all your plans and push you into the abyss."
"Furthermore, the supernatural means I plan to use on you are not some terrifyingly powerful technique; it's merely something akin to a Medium."
Si Ye pondered for a moment before slowly saying, "You can think of this method as a way to maintain the Card's preservation on your body."
Yang Jian looked at Si Ye but didn't agree immediately.
"Give me some time. I just returned to Guanjiang Residential Area and need to assess the situation. I'll go check on Wang Xiaoming first and think things over."
Si Ye chuckled upon hearing this, "Of course. Using the terminology from the game, I am merely a support character."
"If you accept my support method, I will help. If you don't accept, there's nothing I can do."
Yang Jian nodded lightly and left Si Ye's location.
Si Ye watched Yang Jian disappear without much emotional fluctuation.
It was just an experimental idea for him: if Yang Jian didn't resist his supernatural power, could he reduce the cost when using Pickpocket on him?
Of course, this was also his countermeasure; he planned to use Pickpocket on the Ghost Eye within Yang Jian's body.
（Event Card）Pickpocket: Depending on the strength of the Fierce Ghost, it costs a certain number of Cards to create an unknown Card based on one of the Fierce Ghost's abilities.
Pickpocket clearly stated it was to be used on a Fierce Ghost.
Yang Jian was not a Fierce Ghost, and the two ghosts within his body were separate entities.
According to Si Ye's estimation, he should be able to use Pickpocket on a Ghost Controller, but he wasn't sure how the targeting was determined.
Was it that Si Ye could autonomously choose one of the ghosts in Yang Jian's body as the target? Or would it randomly create a Card based on the ability of one of the two ghosts inside Yang Jian?
