The Scroll of Seals Is in Hand!
[TU] 12: Chapter 12: Step Two of the Plan Begins!
The Scroll of Seals Is in Hand!
[TU] At that moment, inside the underground chamber beneath Naka Shrine, Shinsuke watched the teleportation array glow with a deep blue light.
Outside, explosions rang out one after another, mixed with faint cries of panic.
He slowly turned to look at Fugaku beside him.
“The first step is complete.” His voice remained calm, but a crimson glint flashed through his eyes.
“Hiruzen and Danzō both think we’re trying to break out through open rebellion.
They’ve thrown all of their attention onto the outer blockade.
They’ll never imagine that we never intended to fight them head on.” Fugaku looked at the glowing teleportation array before turning toward the entrance of the underground chamber.
The clan elders were already leading the clan members toward the array in perfect order.
The elderly, women, and children went first, followed by the younger ninja.
They carried the clan’s inherited treasures in their arms and heavy supplies on their backs.
Taking a deep breath, Fugaku suppressed the turbulent emotions in his heart and gave a firm nod.
“Pass the order.
Begin the teleportation according to the planned sequence.” The thunderous explosions continued to roll through Konoha’s streets.
The aftershocks shook loose dust from the walls, while scorching smoke and waves of heat swept through every alley of the Hokage Administrative District.
Hiruzen Sarutobi had led the main ANBU force to the residential district where the fires were at their worst.
Danzō had also taken most of Root’s elite and stationed them firmly along the blockade surrounding the Uchiha Clan compound.
As a result, the defenses around the Hokage Building had been reduced by more than half.
Hidden within the shadows of the shattered ruins, Uchiha Tōka and Uchiha Tekka opened their eyes at the same time.
Their scarlet Three Tomoe Sharingan slowly rotated through the smoke, glowing like twin clusters of cold fire.
Every patrol route, every line of sight, and even the breathing rhythm of the few remaining ANBU sentries was perfectly captured by their eyes.
“Move.” Tōka spoke only a single word.
The two instantly became blurs, timing every step with the roar of the explosions so their movements were completely concealed.
They darted along the half collapsed walls and rapidly closed in.
With the Sharingan’s dynamic vision locked onto every guard’s movement, they slipped through one blind spot after another like wisps of wind hidden within the smoke.
In only a few breaths, they had reached the side entrance of the Hokage Building.
“Who’s there?!” The ANBU guard beside the door immediately tensed, his hand reaching for the kunai at his waist.
Before he could finish speaking, a pair of scarlet Sharingan filled his vision.
“Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique.” Only a broken grunt escaped the ANBU’s throat.
The genjutsu nailed him in place instantly.
His body froze as though invisible iron stakes had pierced all four limbs, leaving him unable to move even a finger.
A heartbeat later, a sharp kunai sliced through the air and cleanly severed his carotid artery.
Warm blood splashed across the cold wall as his body collapsed soundlessly before he could raise the alarm.
The other guard had just realized something was wrong and started forming hand seals.
Tekka had already appeared silently behind him.
His kunai pierced straight through the man’s heart.
“Tekka, take two men and secure the perimeter.
Kill anyone who comes close.” Tōka flicked the blood from his kunai, his voice barely above a whisper.
“The other two, come with me.” The three of them slipped into the Hokage’s office.
Documents littered the floor, overturned desks and chairs lay everywhere, and the entire room was in chaos from the earlier explosions.
Their Sharingan swept across every corner of the office.
The walls, the floor, and the hidden compartments inside the desk were all inspected in an instant, quickly revealing several chakra sealing nodes.
Without the slightest hesitation, the three immediately began dismantling the seals and searching through the hidden compartments.
Their fingers moved so quickly that only afterimages remained, every second feeling like a dance upon the edge of a blade.
The explosions outside continued without pause, yet Tekka’s tense voice still carried through the door.
“Tōka, hurry!
An ANBU squad is heading this way.
They’ll be here in thirty seconds!” “Found it!” The moment the words fell, one of the jonin pried open the deepest hidden compartment inside the desk.
His fingertips touched a thick scroll.
As soon as he unfolded it, the words Flying Thunder God Technique came into view.
He quickly scanned its contents.
After confirming it was genuine, he immediately called out in a low voice.
Tōka glanced at the scroll and gave the order without a moment’s hesitation.
“Withdraw!” The three instantly stopped searching, turned, and rushed out of the office to regroup with Tekka outside.
Without slowing for even an instant, they disappeared into the shadows of the Hokage Building under the cover of smoke.
Only a few breaths later, an ANBU squad burst into the now empty office.
The squad captain looked at the bodies of his fallen comrades and the pried open hidden compartment.
His face instantly turned deathly pale.
“The Scroll of Seals!
The Scroll of Seals has been stolen!
Hurry!
Sound the highest level alarm!” By then, Tōka and the others had already followed their planned escape route.
They met with Uchiha Kei, who was waiting outside the Hokage Building, then quietly slipped back toward the Uchiha Clan compound under the cover of the blazing fires and the panicked crowds.
Dozens of meters beneath the surface, Root Headquarters trembled as the endless explosions above shook loose dust and gravel from the rock walls.
The cold fluorescent lamps embedded in the stone flickered on and off, casting ghostly shadows through the narrow corridors.
Danzō had taken more than ninety percent of the base’s elite with him, leaving behind fewer than a single squad to guard the central laboratory.
The explosions from above echoed through the earth, making everyone’s ears ring.
The remaining Root shinobi had long since become distracted.
One after another, they clutched their communication devices, trying to learn what was happening outside.
Even their patrol formations had become disorganized.
None of them noticed the uninvited guests who had already slipped into the darkness.
Hidden in the shadows at the corner of a corridor, Uchiha Yakumi raised a hand to stop everyone behind him.
His scarlet Three Tomoe Sharingan slowly rotated in the darkness.
Every concealed barrier, every guard’s position, every blind spot in their vision, and even the airflow through the ventilation shafts was laid bare beneath the Sharingan.
He silently gestured to Uchiha Yashiro and Uchiha Yakoto beside him.
The three immediately split into separate groups, leading the ninja behind them through the darkness like silent serpents.
The two Root shinobi guarding the laboratory entrance had only just turned toward the source of the tremors when a pair of scarlet Sharingan suddenly filled their vision.
Yakoto’s genjutsu spread without a sound.
The two froze instantly.
Before either could even let out a muffled grunt, Yashiro’s kunai pierced both of their throats with perfect precision.
As their bodies went limp, they were caught before they could hit the ground, leaving not the slightest noise.
The laboratory’s sealing lock was meaningless before the Sharingan.
In less than three breaths, the heavy alloy door silently slid open.
The sight inside sent a chill through everyone’s hearts.
Three neat rows of Sharingan floated inside nutrient tanks.
Bloodstained surgical instruments lay scattered across the operating tables, while the refrigerated cabinets lining the walls were filled with countless human experimentation samples.
