Over the next few days, Konoha’s shinobi received a rather confusing order.

They were told to visit a three-story building located not far from the village, take a look around, and then leave.

One group had barely gone out before another batch of Konoha shinobi came in.Full novel: Naruto: Kakashi Entered My Quest and Found Obito Alive — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Itsuki was quickly getting tired of it.

Still, the whole thing wasn’t completely pointless.

A few people really did manage to trigger missions.

Sai from Root.

Yamato from the ANBU.

Yūgao Uzuki.

And several others.

Another group of Konoha shinobi entered the hall.

Itsuki glanced at them.

The system gave no response.

He immediately closed his eyes and went back to resting.

The shinobi exchanged awkward looks.

But after remembering the Hokage’s instructions, they didn’t bother him.

When it became clear nothing was going to happen, they quietly left.

With Konoha making such a large-scale move, it naturally attracted attention from the other hidden villages.

Itsuki even discovered that several of the so-called Konoha shinobi visiting him were actually spies.

Some belonged to other villages.

Others worked for Orochimaru.

Konoha’s security really was full of holes.

Spies seemed to be everywhere.

Itsuki didn’t particularly care.

Unless someone triggered a mission and required his attention, he spent most of his time improving his own combat ability.

The second floor of the building contained a virtual combat space.

It could recreate almost any battlefield or environment.

Itsuki spent most of his time there, repeatedly fighting simulated opponents and sharpening his instincts.

Whenever he felt like taking a break, he would open the player projections and check on what everyone else was doing.

“Haa…” Itsuki stepped out of the virtual combat space, completely exhausted.

“I’m dead tired.” Several days of near-constant fighting had dramatically improved his practical combat experience.

Unfortunately, it had also left him physically and mentally drained.

He was just about to wash up when the system suddenly reacted.

Kakashi has triggered a new mission: Training Guidance Mission Objective: Have Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura successfully learn tree-climbing chakra control within three days.

Reward: Determined according to the amount of time required by the three students.

Issue mission?

Itsuki sat down on a sofa on the second floor and took a leisurely drink of water.

“Is this the story forcing itself back on course?” “Or was Kakashi always going to start chakra-control training once those three became stronger?” At this point, Kakashi wasn’t injured or bedridden at all.

Yet he had still started teaching Team 7 how to climb trees using chakra.

That made Itsuki wonder whether certain canon events were naturally reasserting themselves.

“System, issue the mission.” Then he opened the System Shop.

For missions where only the reward rank had been determined, the system would assign a random reward unless Itsuki selected one himself.

His eyes soon landed on something.

“This one.” A smile appeared on his face.

“It’ll suit me perfectly.” In the Land of Waves, near Tazuna’s house.

Kakashi was demonstrating the tree-climbing exercise to Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.

Then he suddenly froze.

A mission panel appeared in front of him.

Kakashi nearly lost his footing and fell from the tree.

“Another mission?!” Surprise quickly turned into excitement.

He opened the panel immediately.

New Mission Triggered: Training Guidance Teach Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura to climb trees using chakra within three days.

Accept mission?

“Accept.” Kakashi didn’t even hesitate.

Only an idiot would refuse a mission at this point.

A pleased smile appeared beneath his mask.

Looks like my luck isn’t bad.

Then a thought occurred to him.

Maybe I should experiment with different situations and see what else can trigger missions.

After triggering missions several times now, Kakashi was beginning to suspect that there were hidden conditions behind them.

Perhaps missions weren’t entirely random.

“Hey, Kakashi-sensei!” Naruto shouted from below.

“Why’d you suddenly stop talking?” Kakashi snapped out of his thoughts.

With a Body Flicker, he appeared beside them.

“It’s nothing.” He waved casually.

“I just happened to trigger another mission.” “Another mission?!” Naruto and Sasuke immediately stared at him.

Kakashi was clearly trying to act as though it were no big deal, but the way his eye curved with amusement gave him away completely.

When he explained the mission, Naruto and Sasuke looked even more jealous.

“Damn it!

Why didn’t I trigger one?!” They spoke at almost exactly the same time.

Kakashi couldn’t help smiling.

“You should experiment more in the future.

Maybe you’ll find ways to trigger missions yourselves.” Then his tone suddenly turned stern.

“But for now—” A dangerous pressure seemed to roll off him.

“Start training.” Naruto and Sasuke both stiffened.

They stared at him speechlessly.

Wasn’t he taking this a little too seriously just because there was a mission involved?

Kakashi noticed their expressions.

“If you perform well, I’ll teach you new ninjutsu afterward.” That changed everything.

“We’re starting right now!” Naruto and Sasuke instantly came back to life.

Kakashi’s techniques might not be instant rewards from Itsuki’s system, but free ninjutsu was still free ninjutsu.

Kakashi stared at their sudden enthusiasm.

Now it was his turn to be speechless.

Still, the incentive worked far better than he expected.

Sakura succeeded on her first attempt.

Sasuke mastered the exercise by the end of the first day.

Even Naruto, whose chakra control was by far the worst, succeeded after only a day and a half.

The results exceeded Kakashi’s expectations by a wide margin.

They also gave him something to think about.

This feels strangely similar to Itsuki’s missions.

Give people a clear objective.

Attach a reward.

Their motivation immediately rises.

Kakashi’s eye narrowed thoughtfully.

Maybe I should use this kind of reward system more often when training them.

At that moment, the mission panel updated.

Mission Complete: Training Guidance Mission Evaluation: B Reward: Enhanced Byakurai Origin: Hadō #4: Byakurai from the Bleach world.

Claim reward?

Kakashi froze.

The Bleach world?

His expression changed.

So when Itsuki talked about other worlds…

he wasn’t exaggerating?

There really are entirely different worlds out there?

The implications were staggering.

Kakashi remained silent for quite some time before finally calming himself.

Forget it.

There’s no point thinking that far ahead yet.

I should see what the reward actually does first.

Following the information transmitted into his mind, Kakashi silently selected: Claim reward.

A skill book appeared in his hand.

Kakashi pressed it against himself.

The book dissolved into countless motes of light and flowed into his body.

A short while later, his eye opened.

A sharp gleam flashed through it.

Powerful.

And completely different from ordinary ninjutsu.

The original technique had apparently been designed to use another form of energy.

But the system had modified it so that chakra could be used instead.

More importantly— It doesn’t require hand seals.

Kakashi took a slow breath.

This reward was far better than he had expected.

There was only one thing that bothered him.

The system’s enhanced version apparently included an optional incantation.

And the wording was…

A little embarrassing.

“Kakashi-sensei!” Naruto’s voice interrupted his thoughts.

“What did you get?” Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were all staring at him expectantly.

Kakashi smiled.

“Let’s just say it’s a fairly powerful technique.” Their eyes immediately lit up.

“Then you can teach us those new ninjutsu now, right?” They knew they couldn’t claim Kakashi’s system reward for themselves, so they immediately returned to the promise he had made earlier.

“Of course.” Kakashi nodded.

“Let’s begin.”
