He pushed open the door to his home and locked it behind him.
No one was home.
His parents had died young, leaving him all alone.
That was fine—it was quiet.
Makoto Uchiha walked up to the mirror and took a deep breath.
Then, he channeled his chakra and sent it surging toward his eyes.
*Buzz!* The world before him transformed.
Colors grew more vibrant, details razor-sharp; he could even see the specks of dust floating in the air with total clarity.
Is this the Sharingan?
Makoto blinked.
In the mirror, his eyes were still black, but a small tomoe now orbited each pupil.
A single tomoe.
The One-Tomoe Sharingan.
He tested moving his eyes, his field of vision shifting smoothly along with them.
He focused on a distant wall, and the texture of the plaster instantly snapped into close-up detail as if pulled right in front of him.
A fly buzzed past.
Makoto instinctively glanced over.
Then he froze.
To his eyes, the fly’s flight was…
agonizingly slow.
It wasn’t actually moving slowly; his eyes could simply track every single micro-movement.
How its wings flapped, how its legs twitched—he could even predict its flight path.
Makoto reached out and casually plucked it out of the air.
The fly was pinched between his fingers.
“…” Makoto stared at his hand, rendered speechless.
Before, catching a fly was a matter of luck.
Now, a casual grab hit the target every time.
“So this is dynamic vision?” He opened his hand, letting the fly buzz away.
“Quite interesting.” A moment later, however, he felt something off.
His chakra was draining.
It wasn’t a huge amount, but it was a steady, continuous trickle.
Like a tap left cracked open, the flow was faint, but constant.
Makoto quickly deactivated his Sharingan.
The world returned to normal, and the chakra drain stopped.
“No wonder Kakashi is always so low on chakra,” Makoto realized.
“If you can’t turn the damn thing off, of course it leaks nonstop.” He recalled the Kakashi from the original story.
The Copy Ninja, Mr.
Fifty-Fifty, the universal unit of chakra measurement.
*Actually, Kakashi’s talent wasn’t bad at all,* Makoto thought.
*A Jonin at twelve, creator of the Chidori, smart as a whip.
If not for the constant drag of the Sharingan, he wouldn’t be perpetually running on fumes.* Then again, without the Sharingan, Kakashi wouldn’t have become the Copy Ninja either.
Pros and cons.
Then his thoughts shifted to his own situation.
“The Uchiha Clan…” Makoto murmured.
“Konoha…” He knew how delicate the relationship between the two sides was.
Polite on the surface, deeply suspicious behind closed doors.
The Uchiha felt Konoha was sidelining them.
Konoha felt the Uchiha were plotting a coup.
And squeezed in the middle was Danzo, scheming day in and day out about how to eradicate the Uchiha.
“I need to be careful.” Makoto closed the window.
“Awakening the Sharingan at six is far too eye-catching.” He walked over to his bed, sat down, and began refining chakra.
Awakening the Sharingan was a boon, but it was also a hazard.
What he needed most right now was to grow stronger.
Stronger than anyone else.
On the training grounds of the Ninja Academy, a line of six-year-olds stood shoulder-to-shoulder, their eyes wide as saucers.
Today they were learning the Three-Body Technique.
“Transformation!
Clone Jutsu!
Substitution!” Instructor Nakamura bellowed at the front of the class, spit flying everywhere.
“These three jutsu are a ninja’s foundation!
If you can’t master the Three-Body Technique, you won’t even graduate from the Ninja Academy!
Do you understand?!” “Understood!” the students yelled at the top of their lungs.
Beside him, Obito and Guy were whispering back and forth.
“Guy, do you think Transformation can turn you into the Hokage?” Obito asked in a low voice.
“It probably can,” Guy said, scratching his chin.
“But I think transforming into Youth would be way cooler!” “How do you transform into Youth?” “It’s…
it’s that feeling of burning passion!” Listening to the banter between these two masterminds, Makoto nearly lost it.
*Transforming into Youth?
Why don’t you just transform into a ball of fire while you’re at it?* “Alright, time to practice!” Instructor Nakamura clapped his hands.
“Pair up in twos and supervise each other!” The students dispersed to find partners.
Obito and Guy naturally paired up together.
Makoto took a look around and walked over to them.
“Makoto!” Obito’s eyes lit up.
“Are you gonna practice with us?” “Yeah,” Makoto nodded.
“Supervising each other, right?” In reality, he just wanted a front-row seat to watch these two goofs.
And at the same time, figure out how to farm some system rewards off them.
The Three-Body Technique sounded simple enough.
Transformation: form a sign, turn into someone else.
Clone Jutsu: form a sign, create an illusionary copy.
Substitution: form a sign, swap places with a wooden log.
Yet Makoto knew the ceiling for these three basic techniques was absurdly high.
Naruto could use Transformation to turn into a Demon Wind Shuriken to pull off combos with Sasuke.
He could even turn into attractive women and leave Kaguya completely bewildered.
Not to mention Clone Jutsu—the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu was literally a Kinjutsu.
And Substitution was even crazier.
Mid-combat, a ninja could pull a log out of thin air while instantly swapping places.
Makoto hadn’t rushed to manifest Rokushiki’s “Shave” earlier precisely because the Naruto world already possessed Substitution and Body Flicker Jutsu.
The effects were similar, and they required no awkward explanations.
*Just knowing them isn’t enough,* Makoto thought as he wove signs to practice Transformation.
*I have to pull off something fancy with them.* He transformed into Obito.
Obito stared blankly for a second, then grinned.
“Whoa, Makoto!
You look just like me!” “Obviously.
I copied your look.” “Though it feels…
a bit different,” Obito said, scratching his head.
“I can’t quite put my finger on it.” Makoto’s heart stirred.
It really was different.
His Transformation was far more refined than an ordinary student’s.
The texture of the skin, the sheen of the hair, even that subtle foolish glint in Obito’s eyes—all mimicked with uncanny precision.
That was the difference in talent.
Backed by his genius template, Makoto learned everything blazingly fast.
For the absolute basic foundation that was the Three-Body Technique, a few days of practice put him on par with months of work by others.
But it still wasn’t enough.
He wanted to elevate these three techniques to a terrifying, superhuman level.
Lately, however, he had felt like eyes were constantly watching him.
It wasn’t paranoia—someone was genuinely spying on him.
Most likely Danzo’s Foundation.
Those gutter rats infiltrated everywhere.
His original plan to manifest Geppo had been forced onto the back burner because of them.
If Makoto were to perform mid-air walking right in front of Obito and Guy, Foundation ninjas would be knocking on his door the very next morning.
*I need a plan,* he mused while practicing the Clone Jutsu, *to farm system rewards without blowing my cover.* In truth, Makoto’s current strength was by no means weak.
Every day, he would drop a line to Obito or Guy: “My chakra refinement speed is really fast.” And every week, he would use his system to manifest one point of chakra from both Obito and Guy.
One point of chakra was roughly equivalent to one Great Fireball Jutsu.
Or two standard Shadow Clones.
It didn’t sound like much.
But one had to realize that an ordinary Genin only possessed enough chakra for three or four Great Fireballs a day.
After firing them off, they’d be completely exhausted and forced to lie down for half a day.
How much did Makoto have now?
Ten points.
Ten Great Fireball Jutsu.
And he could still farm one more point from Obito and Guy every single week.
As for the rest of the week: From Obito, he farmed “Uchiha Shurikenjutsu Proficiency” and “Uchiha-Style Taijutsu.” From Guy, he farmed “Taijutsu Talent” and “Physical Body Strength.” Whatever day remained was spent according to his whim.
Sometimes he’d go see Kurenai Yuhi to raise her affection toward him.
Sometimes he’d farm physical stats.
Sometimes he’d farm Proficiency in other Ninjutsu.
After two months of this, Makoto’s strength was already sufficient to thoroughly crush any average Genin.
