His mind was currently consumed by thoughts of the Third Shinobi World War coming up in a few years.
The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist Village, the Uchiha Clan used as cannon fodder, Obito “dying” at Kannabi Bridge, Kakashi losing his left eye, Rin having the Three-Tails sealed inside her…
And himself.
As a transmigrator arriving in the Naruto world, reincarnated into the Uchiha, he had initially been full of confidence, determined to become a wild card that would alter the landscape of the Ninja World.
Yet after training for a period of time, he discovered that his actual talent was utterly mediocre.
The absolute ceiling of his life would likely be a Jonin, or perhaps merely a Chunin.
Reality quickly slapped him hard across the face.
Not every Uchiha was Lord Madara, and certainly not every transmigrator could defy fate.
Fortunately, destiny favored transmigrators.
A few days ago, he had successfully awakened a system—a system that could make falsehood reality.
As long as someone believed his lies, the lies would manifest in reality.
If not for the sudden awakening of the system, he might have truly given up and slacked off.
After all, he was dead either way: either dying in the Third War or dying several years later on that backstabbing Itachi’s night of clan genocide.
“But things are different now.” Makoto stared at his hand.
Though it could only be used once per day per person, and though its effectiveness was tied to the target’s trust level and their character plot weight…
At least he now possessed the foundation to become a peerless powerhouse.
*I need to hurry,* Makoto calculated in his mind.
*Five years…
no, maybe even shorter.
Once war breaks out, who cares whether you’ve graduated or not?* He lifted his head, sweeping his gaze across the classroom.
Guy sat bolt upright, his eyes wide as brass gongs, terrified of missing a single word from the teacher.
Diagonal ahead of him, Obito secretly looked back, winking and making faces at him while silently mouthing, *Don’t forget to train together after school!* Asuma and Kurenai were murmuring in hushed tones, occasionally letting out soft giggles.
Rin sat up straight, conscientiously taking notes.
*Obito, Guy…* Makoto repeated the two names in his mind.
Why choose these two?
Because they were easy to fool!
Obito’s brain was basically a single-thread processor: Hot-blooded → Action → Regret → Hot-blooded again.
Guy was even simpler.
There was nothing in his head besides Youth, and trusting people came as easily to him as drinking water.
And most importantly, both of them carried immense “plot weight.” The system prompt had stated it clearly: the degree of manifestation was governed by the character’s plot weight.
Obito was the ultimate villain who would ignite the Fourth Shinobi World War, and Guy was the absolute monster who almost kicked open the final endgame.
How could their character weights possibly be low?
*A pity Kakashi hasn’t transferred in yet,* Makoto Uchiha thought with a slight sense of regret.
If Kakashi Hatake were in the class right now, fooling him would be even more satisfying.
After all, Kakashi would eventually become a true heavyweight figure.
Still, no rush.
Kakashi graduated at five and became a Chunin at six; right now, he was probably still undergoing Anbu training.
They were bound to cross paths sooner or later anyway.
Up on the podium, the instructor had already finished the theoretical portion of the lesson.
“Now, everyone try using the method I just described to sense the chakra inside your bodies.” Silence fell over the classroom.
The little brats closed their eyes one by one, scowling in concentration as they strove to “sense” it.
Makoto went through the motions of closing his eyes as well, but he wasn’t sensing chakra—he was planning his next steps.
Step one: Establish the persona.
Today’s confrontation with Aoki was a great start.
He had already put out the bold claims of “standing up for the Dead-last” and “taking down three opponents single-handedly.” The next step was to firmly solidify this “genius Uchiha” persona.
How to solidify it?
Simple: get Obito and Guy to believe he was a genius.
With one being hot-blooded and the other pure-hearted, duping them wouldn’t be difficult.
Step two: Farm trust.
The system could only be used once per day on the same person, so he had to plan carefully.
A 50% trust level had only manifested a 25% boost in strength.
Still, it was enough for now—at least sufficient to deal with Aoki.
His current goal was to reach beyond Kage level—or at least Kage level—before the Third Shinobi World War.
Otherwise, stepping onto the battlefield would just be throwing his life away.
This was the most critical part.
The Uchiha Clan held an inherently awkward position in Konoha.
The higher-ups kept a close eye on them, and that sneaky old schemer Danzo wanted nothing more than to eradicate every last Uchiha.
If a “super genius” suddenly emerged from the Uchiha…
Makoto could almost feel Danzo putting his name at the top of a “must eliminate” hit list.
Furthermore, Makoto Uchiha knew that a dying old man and his white traitor were also constantly watching the Uchiha Clan.
If he caught that old man’s eye, he might end up becoming just another pawn on the chessboard.
*I have to keep a low profile,* Makoto reminded himself.
*I can establish a persona, but I can’t be too flashy.
Step by step, slowly.* *And most of the time, I must hide my true strength!* With that thought, he recalled what the instructor had taught.
*Chakra extraction method…* He sighed inwardly.
He had memorized this stuff back in his past life from watching the anime, but knowing the theory and executing it were two entirely different things.
It was like knowing how to drive a car, but without the key, you were still helpless.
Right now, he lacked that crucial “key”: Talent.
The talent gap within the Uchiha Clan was absurdly huge.
Lord Madara was a cheat code; Itachi and Shisui were prodigies; Obito was a late bloomer.
And him?
He was so ordinary he hardly seemed like an Uchiha at all.
*If not for the system…* Makoto shook his head, brushing aside his stray thoughts.
*Obito, Guy,* he repeated silently in his mind.
*My path to becoming the Six Paths rests entirely on the two of you!*
