Konoha, Year Five — Hatake Clan Compound

Every member of the Hatake clan knelt inside the main hall, their expressions heavy with grief.

Age at death: one hundred.

Accomplishments in life: none.”

A middle-aged man dressed in a black kimono calmly read the words written on the scroll.

His voice remained steady, but the sorrow in his eyes was impossible to hide.

“Our Hatake clan has produced the longest-lived man in all of Konoha, yet even he couldn’t escape the passage of time.”

An elderly man with graying hair lowered his head.

“Great-Uncle passed peacefully…

Give him a proper burial.”

…

[Ding!]

[Host has survived for one hundred years in the world of Konoha.]

[System loading…]

[10%…]

[50%…]

[100%.]

[50/50 System successfully loaded!]

A mechanical voice suddenly echoed through Hatake Sora’s mind.

His eyes snapped open.

Darkness.

There was no light whatsoever, and the cramped space around him barely allowed him to move.

Sora blinked.

“I’m…

inside a coffin?”

There was confusion in his eyes, but strangely, no panic.

Because he understood exactly what had happened.

Hatake Sora had originally been an ordinary university student on Earth.

After an accident, he transmigrated into the world of Naruto during the Warring States era, becoming the youngest son of the Hatake clan head.

He had even been born handsome.

Rich family.

Good looks.

Perfect second-generation heir material.

At the time, Sora had thought his future was basically guaranteed.

Even if he didn’t receive some ridiculous cheat ability, his knowledge of Naruto should have allowed him to get ahead of everyone else, train early, and eventually become a powerhouse.

Unfortunately…

Reality had slapped him across the face.

There had been no system.

No golden finger.

Worse, he had been born completely incapable of refining chakra.

And as if that weren’t bad enough, he had been frail and sickly since childhood.

Forget becoming a ninja—even ordinary physical training was beyond him.

Naturally, while the rest of the Hatake clan fought bloody battles outside, no one had ever considered throwing a sickly weakling like him onto a battlefield.

Eventually, Sora accepted his fate.

He lived like an ordinary civilian.

And then something almost absurd happened.

The older generation died in battle.

His brothers and sisters died.

Then their children died.

Then their children’s children.

Generation after generation, countless Hatake fell on the battlefield.

Yet Sora—the sickly man everyone thought would die young—somehow kept living.

He survived the Warring States era.

He watched Konoha rise from nothing.

And eventually…

He lived to the age of one hundred.

“The 50/50 System?”

Sora’s expression became strange.

“You really know how to make a man wait.

I survived for a hundred damn years, and you only wake up after I die?!”

“System?”

“System?”

He called out twice in his mind.

No response came.

Instead, a stream of information appeared directly in his consciousness.

[50/50 System.]

[Twice per day, the host may temporarily activate the abilities of a random life-form from the countless worlds.]

[The host’s combat power will be adjusted until it is sufficient to fight the selected target on equal terms.]

[Each activation lasts ten minutes.]

[Once the duration expires, the temporary abilities will disappear and the host will return to his original level of strength.]

[Each activation also carries a chance of permanently retaining one ability belonging to the activated life-form.]

“Equal terms?”

Sora’s mouth twitched.

“Shouldn’t a system be making me completely overpowered?”

He sighed.

“Whatever.

Having one is still better than having nothing.”

Then a thought occurred to him.

“Do I at least get a beginner’s gift pack?”

[Beginner’s Gift Pack issued.]

The mechanical voice sounded again.

Immediately afterward, Sora felt a strange energy surge into his body.

[Inheritance acquired: Dugu Nine Swords.]

[Nine forms: Sword-Breaking Stance, Saber-Breaking Stance, Spear-Breaking Stance, Whip-Breaking Stance, Palm-Breaking Stance, Arrow-Breaking Stance, Qi-Breaking Stance.]

[Core principle: Break all techniques beneath the heavens.]

“Dugu Nine Swords!”

Sora’s eyes lit up.

“That sounds badass, but…”

His excitement quickly faded.

“This is the Naruto world!”

“One ninjutsu can split the earth and smash apart mountains.

What the hell am I supposed to do with a sword style designed to counter martial techniques?”

In a wuxia world, the Dugu Nine Swords would undoubtedly be an extraordinary inheritance.

But this was the world of Naruto.

Early battles might still involve fists, blades, and close combat.

Later on?

People started throwing around attacks capable of reshaping the landscape.

Compared to that…

The Dugu Nine Swords suddenly felt a little underwhelming.

“Forget it.

Something is still better than nothing.”

Sora reached out and felt around the cramped darkness surrounding him.

“More importantly…

how the hell do I get out of here?”

After feeling around for a moment, he became completely certain.

The coffin had been nailed shut.

It didn’t matter how impressive the Dugu Nine Swords were.

It didn’t even matter that the 50/50 System could theoretically let him fight Kaguya evenly for ten minutes.

Right now, he didn’t have a target.

And swordsmanship wasn’t exactly useful inside a sealed coffin.

Sora’s face stiffened.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“Am I supposed to eat my way through the coffin lid?”

Just then—

RUMBLE!

The earth suddenly shook violently.

The coffin began moving upward.

Sora froze.

“What the hell?”

“An earthquake?”

BOOM!

A massive wooden structure erupted from underground, smashing into the coffin from below.

The coffin shot through the earth.

CRACK!

Wood splintered apart.

The coffin shattered.

Sora burst free and crashed onto the ground.

The instant he looked up, his eyes widened.

Countless enormous roots and branches were erupting toward the sky around him, spreading across an area thousands of meters wide.

At the same time, an intense wave of heat rolled in from the distance.

“Ugh!”

Sora hit the ground hard and hurriedly grabbed onto a nearby tree trunk to steady himself.

Then he looked toward the source of the heat.

Under the night sky stood a gigantic crimson fox nearly as tall as a high-rise building.

It raised its head and roared.

Nine enormous tails whipped violently through the air.

Trees shattered.

Rocks exploded.

The sheer destructive force was terrifying.

Sora stared at it in shock.

“The Nine-Tails!”

His expression suddenly changed.

“Wait…”

“This scene looks familiar.”

A terrible realization struck him.

Sora’s eyes widened.

“Holy shit…”

“This is the First Hokage and Madara Uchiha’s final battle!”
