“The rooftop.” Kakashi’s cold voice fell.
The next instant, his feet moved.
With several quick leaps, he used the trees around the Academy as footholds and rushed toward the school building.
When he reached the base of the building, his knees bent slightly.
Then— he exploded upward.
His body shot into the air like an arrow, instantly rising halfway up the building.
But his momentum quickly ran out.
Bang!
Just when everyone thought Kakashi was about to fall back down, he suddenly stepped against empty air.
Using Geppo, he created another point of leverage.
His body rose again.
He shot directly toward the rooftop, flipped backward in midair, and landed steadily on the terrace.
“Ah!” Kurenai pointed toward Kakashi in surprise.
“That was Geppo, wasn’t it?” “Yeah.” Kazama casually nodded.
“You’re really going to fight Kakashi?” Kurenai looked at Kazama with some concern.
“I heard Kakashi is a genius.
He’s really strong.” Kazama turned toward her and smiled.
“What?
You don’t think I’m a genius too?” “Wait here.” “I’ll be back soon.” With that, Kazama walked forward several steps.
Then he jumped lightly.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
His feet repeatedly struck against the air.
With each soft impact, his body rose higher and higher.
It almost looked as though Kazama were simply jumping upward again and again until he reached the rooftop.
Compared with Kakashi’s approach, Kazama’s ascent was even more shocking.
Even the jōnin instructor stared at him as though he had seen a ghost.
Are students these days all this ridiculous?
Whoosh!
The instructor disappeared from his original position.
When he appeared again, he was already standing on the rooftop.
Judging from the performances of Kazama and Kakashi just now, both boys were undoubtedly geniuses.
If they were going to spar, the instructor naturally needed to supervise them.
It would be troublesome if either one got seriously injured.
“Quick!
Let’s go watch!” “Yeah!
Hurry!” The rest of the students immediately rushed toward the school building and started climbing toward the rooftop.
Kurenai watched Kazama use Geppo all the way to the top.
She couldn’t do that yet.
But she could imitate Kakashi’s method—jump most of the way up first, then use Geppo as an additional foothold.
After all, she had already been practicing Geppo for quite some time.
Her understanding of the technique was nearly complete.
The only thing she lacked was sufficient chakra.
If she had Kazama’s chakra reserves, she could also climb directly to the rooftop using Geppo alone.
Whoosh!
With that thought, Kurenai immediately rushed forward.
Like Kakashi, she used the trees near the building to build momentum.
Then she reached the base of the building and released a burst of chakra through her feet.
Her body shot upward.
Once she reached about halfway up the building— Bang!
She stepped against the air with Geppo.
Then again.
And again.
A few moments later, she landed on the rooftop.
“Whew…” Kurenai slowly exhaled.
She had been somewhat stimulated by Kazama and Kakashi’s display.
Children naturally had a competitive streak.
Otherwise, she probably wouldn’t have bothered climbing up this way.
The jōnin instructor watched Kurenai arrive and slowly nodded.
It seemed that among the children he was teaching this year— several extraordinary figures might emerge.
“That’s Kurenai Yūhi, right?
She’s amazing!” “Even a girl can be that strong?” Before the other students had even reached the building, they saw Kurenai step through the air just like Kakashi and reach the rooftop.
Another wave of astonishment immediately erupted.
Kakashi and Kazama were boys, so people found it somewhat easier to accept their performances.
But Kurenai was a girl.
And she was already capable of something like this?
That immediately attracted enormous attention.
Several of the girls in the class began looking at Kurenai as someone they wanted to catch up to.
On the rooftop— Kazama and Kakashi stood facing each other.
“You’ve been watching for so long.” Kazama spoke without the slightest politeness.
“So you finally decided to challenge me?” He openly exposed Kakashi for secretly observing him while he taught Kurenai.
Kakashi’s expression didn’t change at all.
Whether that was because he was naturally cold or simply had an extraordinarily thick skin was impossible to tell.
“I just happened to pass by.” Kazama almost rolled his eyes.
He couldn’t be bothered arguing about it.
“If you beat me, I’ll teach you the rest of the Six Powers.” “If I beat you, you agree to one condition.” Kazama believed that after experiencing the usefulness of Geppo firsthand, Kakashi wouldn’t refuse.
Besides, Kakashi clearly had confidence in his own strength.
Naturally, he wouldn’t back down.
“Geppo is one of the Six Powers?” Kakashi looked at Kazama.
“What’s your condition?
Tell me first.” “Let me borrow the ninjutsu your family owns for two days.” Kazama watched him carefully.
The Hatake clan had once been highly renowned.
There was no way the family possessed absolutely no ninjutsu.
“No.” Kakashi refused immediately.
“The Six Powers can only be exchanged for six ninjutsu.” “Fine.” Kazama nodded without hesitation.
“But only if you beat me.” “Be careful.” “I’m starting.” Kakashi warned him once.
One hand immediately reached for the short blade on his back.
Then he charged.
Whoosh!
The blade tore through the air and slashed toward Kazama at tremendous speed.
At Kakashi’s current age, it was naturally impossible for him to produce sword aura or vacuum slashes.
So Kazama simply leaned backward and avoided the blade.
Then he planted one hand against the ground.
His legs snapped together— and kicked straight toward Kakashi.
Bang!
Kakashi raised his short blade vertically in front of himself and blocked Kazama’s kick.
A tremendous force traveled through the weapon.
Kakashi’s feet scraped across the rooftop as he was forced backward more than a meter before finally coming to a stop.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Kazama flicked his hand.
Several shuriken and kunai immediately flew toward Kakashi.
He was directly putting into practice the throwing techniques he had only just learned from Obito Uchiha.
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
Kakashi swung his short blade and knocked aside the incoming kunai.
Then he jumped lightly and avoided the second wave of projectiles.
Bang!
He stepped on the air with Geppo— and rushed directly toward Kazama.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Kakashi closed the distance.
His short blade repeatedly slashed toward Kazama from different angles.
I can see it.
The trajectory of his swordsmanship.
Kazama immediately used Kami-e.
His body swayed like a leaf drifting in the wind, slipping past every slash.
Behind his sunglasses, the two-tomoe Sharingan slowly rotated.
Kakashi’s movements appeared slower.
Every detail of his swordsmanship was recorded in Kazama’s eyes.
Clang!
The next instant— a kunai suddenly appeared in Kazama’s hand.
He blocked Kakashi’s short blade.
Then he twisted his wrist upward.
The muscles in his arm instantly tightened and stood out sharply beneath his skin.
With a burst of strength, Kazama knocked Kakashi’s blade aside.
Then he thrust the kunai straight toward Kakashi.
But something was different.
Kazama was no longer using the kunai like an ordinary projectile weapon.
He was wielding it as though it were Kakashi’s short blade.
The very swordsmanship Kakashi had used against Kazama only moments earlier— Kazama was now reproducing it.
Only this time— Kazama was attacking.
And Kakashi was the one forced to defend.
