After turning in their ninja registration forms, Kamiki and Naruto headed to the Ninja Academy for their final class: the ninja orientation meeting.

In this class, the teacher would systematically cover all key guidelines for becoming active shinobi and announce the Genin squad assignments.

Iruka stood behind the podium.

“Starting today, you are all true shinobi.” “The Hidden Leaf’s Genin operate in squads, simply referred to as ‘teams.’ Each team consists of three Genin led by a Jonin instructor.” “Your Jonin instructor will be your mentor throughout your ninja career.” “Now, we will begin announcing the teams.” “Team 1…” “Team 2…” “Team 3…” “…” Listening to Iruka read out name after name with a deadpan expression, Kamiki felt a flutter of nerves.

He wondered who his two teammates would be.

It would be best if Naruto was one of them, considering they had grown up together!

At the podium, the instructor continued reading: “Team 6…” “Team 7: Kamiki, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha.” Kamiki froze in surprise.

Naruto’s jaw dropped in absolute horror.

Kamiki was surprised because he had been grouped with the story’s two main leads.

Naruto’s shock, on the other hand, stemmed purely from being put on the same team as Sasuke Uchiha!

That guy was his rival in love!

He truly could not comprehend what Sakura saw in a jerk like that!

“Sensei, can you transfer Sasuke somewhere else?” Naruto pleaded with a crumpled face.

Iruka shook his head expressionlessly.

“No.

These rosters have been optimized for you.

Moving even one person would throw off the entire lineup.” Naruto had no choice but to drop it.

Glaring resentfully back at Sasuke behind him, he grumbled under his breath, “Arrogant jerk.” “Well, at least I got placed in the same squad as you, Kamiki,” Naruto added with a grin after a moment’s thought.

Kamiki gave no answer to that.

He was currently pondering an exceptionally profound question.

Kamiki possessed a tiny bit of knowledge about the original Naruto storyline.

He knew the original Team 7 had been made up of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.

Now Naruto and Sasuke were both here, but he had taken Sakura’s spot.

Fact: Sakura was the female lead of Naruto, and her hair was pink.

Fact: He was a transmigrator of unknown origins, and his hair was red.

Pink and red both fell into the same color family.

Could it be…

that he had actually ended up with the female lead’s script?!!

“Kamiki, why are you zoning out?

What are you thinking about?” Naruto nudged Kamiki’s arm, staring at him with a puzzled look.

“I’m thinking about what to eat tonight,” Kamiki brushed it off casually.

“Kamiki, looks like we got stuck with an annoying jerk.

How about we just freeze him out together?” Naruto suggested with a mischievous grin.

“What are you even thinking?” Kamiki rolled his eyes at Naruto without holding back.

“Now that we’re on the same team, he’s going to be our life-and-death comrade.” “Forget freezing him out—we should be building good rapport with him!” Kamiki declared with righteous conviction.

Naruto hadn’t expected Kamiki to show such high moral maturity.

Instantly recognizing his own pettiness, he straightened up.

“Right, got it!

An exceptional ninja shouldn’t just be skilled on his own—he needs to unite with his allies and forge deep bonds with them!” Kamiki gave Naruto an approving look.

The kid had finally seen the light.

“Exactly!

That’s the spirit!” Taking the cue, Naruto shuffled over to Sasuke’s desk.

He planned to have a proper chat with this quiet brooding block of wood to deepen their comradeship.

At that moment, Sasuke was staring intently at Kamiki sitting in the row ahead.

Unlike the other students, Sasuke had seen Kamiki in a completely new light ever since the boy revealed his talent.

In his eyes, Kamiki was a genius who surpassed even himself.

Being placed on a team with someone like that was something he welcomed with open arms.

Besides, word was that after moving in with Naruto, Kamiki had dragged the dead-last through intense study and successfully pulled him through the graduation exams.

A solid comrade indeed!

Sasuke was just mulling over how to break the ice and build a good relationship with him.

Right then, Sasuke saw a face suddenly loom into view…

Naruto popped up out of nowhere, leaning across Sasuke’s desk with a wide grin, showing off a set of pearly white teeth.

Sasuke jerked back, his stool scraping against the floor.

“What are you doing?!” “We’re on the same team from now on, so let’s get along!” Naruto extended a hand with genuine goodwill.

Just then— Achoo!

The student sitting in front of Sasuke sneezed hard, lost his balance, and pitched backward, slamming straight into Naruto’s backside!

“Whoa!” Sent flying by the sudden bump, Naruto tumbled forward…

Right toward Sasuke, their faces inches apart…

Smooch.

The classic romantic tragedy unfolded in broad daylight!

The instant Naruto and Sasuke’s lips pressed together, half the girls in the classroom completely erupted!

They adored Sasuke and refused to let their idol be defiled by Naruto like this!

As for the other half of the girls, they had already switched allegiance to Kamiki once he showcased his monstrous talent.

Hearing the commotion behind him, Kamiki turned his head out of curiosity.

And witnessed the legendary Naruto scene in the flesh!

If smartphones existed in this world, Kamiki would have taken a picture on the spot and posted it straight to his timeline.

At the front of the room, Iruka looked at the chaotic scene with mild annoyance.

“Naruto!

Sasuke!

What are you two doing?!” Flustered, Naruto and Sasuke scrambled up from the floor, frantically smoothing down their clothes.

Awkward to the core, they could only pretend nothing had happened, offering Iruka a lame excuse: “Sorry, Sensei!

We just slipped and fell by accident!” Iruka nodded, telling them to be careful, before continuing: “Your Jonin instructors will be arriving shortly.

Head over to your assigned classrooms and wait for them there.” Afterward.

Following the roster announcements, everyone dispersed to their respective rooms to await their mentors.

Inside a certain empty classroom.

Kamiki, Sasuke, and Naruto sat side by side.

A mischievous Naruto wedged a chalkboard eraser above the sliding door, hoping to pull a prank on their new instructor.

Kamiki only wanted a peaceful, steady life to survive in this dangerous ninja world without drawing unnecessary attention.

He urged Naruto to take the eraser down so they wouldn’t get on the teacher’s bad side.

To that, Naruto waved his hand dismissively.

“Relax!

It’s just an eraser, the teacher won’t get mad over something like this.” Despite Naruto’s words, a cautious Kamiki walked over and pulled the eraser down anyway.

Even after all that, their Jonin instructor had yet to arrive.

Thinking that he and Sasuke were now partners who would take on missions together, Kamiki figured they couldn’t just sit in total silence forever.

He turned and offered Sasuke a friendly handshake.

“Hey.

I’m Kamiki.

Glad to be on the same team.” Facing Kamiki’s extended hand, Sasuke hesitated.

And then, his face actually flushed red!

Kamiki stared blankly.

It’s just a handshake, why the hell are you blushing like a schoolgirl?!
