“What the hell…

where am I?” Chiya opened his eyes to a scene of devastation—collapsed houses everywhere and the body of a woman he didn’t recognize lying slumped over him, her life long extinguished.

A sharp, stabbing pain erupted in his brain as memories began to flood back.Full novel: Naruto: The Hidden Monster of Konoha — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He had just been reading a Douluo Dalu fanfic called “I’m in Douluo, Swindling Little Dance’s Spirit Ring.” He was just about to tip the author, so how did he end up in this hellhole?

Could it be…

transmigration?

Just then, a furious roar tore through the heavens, carrying a heavy, malevolent, and ancient aura.

Nine colossal, fire-red tails unfurled in the sky, whipping up a violent gale.

Nearby buildings were shredded like wet tissue paper; debris, wood, and dust exploded into the air.

The villagers, who should have been enjoying a peaceful night, erupted into screams of terror and despair.

“The Nine-Tails…” Chiya finally realized where he was.

The Naruto world, Hidden Leaf Village.

And of course, the opening act was the Night of the Nine-Tails.

His mother had died to protect him, and his father, a Special Jonin, had run off to reinforce the Third Hokage.

Unless a miracle happened, he was as good as dead.

He, or rather the body he now inhabited, was a six-year-old boy named Fujiwara Chiya.

He had tousled black hair, obsidian eyes, and sharp, handsome features.

He looked decent enough—he could probably hold his own even in the notoriously good-looking Uchiha clan…

Yeah, right.

What a load of crap.

How could he be dealt such a shitty hand?

He forced himself to roll the woman’s body over.

Seeing her lifeless face—still fixed in a loving, gentle smile—his heart ached, and his breath hitched in his throat.

Was this the lingering influence of the original owner?

There was no time to dwell on it.

Fujiwara Chiya scrambled to his feet and fled as fast as he could in the opposite direction of the beast.

The path was littered with casualties—civilians, ninjas, and the occasional Anbu operative.

He ignored them all; survival was the only priority.

He stopped only when he passed a narrow alleyway and heard a girl weeping.

“Okaa-san…

Otou-san…” He peered into the shadows to see a girl his own age with long hair and a grey outfit bearing the Uchiha fan crest, huddled against a crumbling wall, sobbing uncontrollably.

Boulders were raining down around them, threatening to crush her at any second.

Save her, or don’t?

The choice flashed through his mind.

A second later, he made his move.

He grit his teeth, rushed forward, grabbed the girl’s hand, and spat out a single command: “Stay close to me!” They bolted just as the alleyway collapsed behind them in a roar of dust and stone.

They didn’t stop until they reached a safe zone near the shelter.

Chiya finally caught his breath, and a tearful voice piped up from behind him.

“Um…

thank you…” Chiya let go and turned to face her.

She had a beautiful figure, flowing black hair, and a distinct tear mole beneath her right eye.

Her face was exquisite, her eyes wide, glistening with tears—full of spirit and life.

All in all, she was a girl who possessed both cuteness and striking beauty.

“Izumi, my name is Uchiha Izumi…

may I ask your name?” she asked, wiping away her tears.

Chiya took a moment to compose himself, using the original owner’s name: “Chiya.

Fujiwara Chiya.” Since I’ve taken over your body, he thought to himself, I’ll live as you from now on.

Don’t worry, I’ll see to it that your mother is buried properly.

Perhaps because the original owner’s obsession had finally been satisfied, a flood of memories surged into his mind, causing his forehead to throb with pain.

“Are you alright, Chiya-kun?” Izumi asked, looking at him with genuine concern.

“I’m fine.

Let’s go.” Chiya shook his head, and they continued deeper into the shelter.

Not far in, they overheard a heated argument between the Uchiha Police Force and a group of ninjas in Anbu gear.

“Go back!

Lord Danzo has ordered that the Uchiha are not allowed near the Nine-Tails!” “Damn it…” Chiya walked past the Anbu—or rather, the Foundation members—while Uchiha Izumi trailed behind him.

He sneered inwardly.

As expected, they were the second-most influential members of the “Konoha F4,” right behind Hiruzen.

They were useless at everything except infighting.

Even at a time like this, they were busy playing political games.

They had taken a perfectly prosperous ninja village and run it into the ground through sheer incompetence.

Shortly after they entered the shelter, another boy their age ran in, cradling an infant.

No way, Chiya thought.

Don’t tell me that’s the Uchiha’s number one traitor, the filial son Itachi Uchiha, and his little brother Sasuke “The Weather Cleared Up, I Think I Can Win Again” Uchiha?

Izumi’s voice confirmed his suspicion.

“Itachi…” Itachi looked over, walked over with Sasuke in his arms, and asked with a calm, stoic expression, “Are you alright?” “I’m fine.

Chiya-kun saved me,” Izumi replied, before her head dropped and a look of desolation washed over her face.

“But my mom and dad…” “My condolences,” Itachi said, offering a stiff word of comfort.

Recognizing that Chiya had saved a member of his clan, he offered a polite nod.

“Thank you…

for saving my clansman.” Chiya had no desire to get chummy with a “filial son” who could slaughter his own parents.

He simply nodded, found a seat further away, and kept his mouth shut.

“What’s wrong with Chiya-kun?” Izumi asked Itachi, looking at Chiya’s retreating back with confusion.

Itachi had been sharp-minded since childhood.

Seeing Chiya’s obvious aversion, he assumed the boy was intimidated by his status as an Uchiha.

“Perhaps he is still grieving the loss of his own family,” he answered, though he thought to himself: He’s covered in blood but doesn’t seem to have any injuries.

His family must have given their lives to protect him.

Lost in his own thoughts, Itachi looked up at the blood-red moon, pondering the meaning of life.

Meanwhile, Chiya watched Itachi staring at the moon and rolled his eyes, tempted to snap at him for his melodramatic nonsense.

Suddenly, a system chime rang in his head: “Ding.

Goddess System is binding…” “Binding successful.
