For the entire day, Yuto and Shisui did not run into a single spy.

Physically and mentally exhausted, Yuto clocked out from work and walked home with a face full of disappointment.

The moment he entered his small yard, he saw an Uchiha girl waiting at his front door.

The girl had long black hair that fell to her waist, straight bangs across her forehead, and a pair of black eyes unmistakably belonging to an Uchiha.

She wore a pale pink sleeveless top, a sash at her waist marked with the clan’s fan crest, and ninja shorts that left her legs bare.

As soon as they met, the girl greeted him with a bright smile.

“Hello, Yuto.”

When she saw the bandages wrapped around his body, her brows immediately tightened.

“Yuto, what happened to you?”

“Aren’t you working at the Police Force?

How did you end up covered in injuries?

Did some ninja cause trouble in the village?”

“Honestly, those Anbu always dump their problems on us Uchiha.”

As expected of the Grand Elder’s granddaughter, a pure inheritor of Uchiha hawk ideology.

If there was a problem, her first instinct was to blame the village.

After silently sighing to himself, Yuto explained,

“Tsukimi, you misunderstood.

I ran into a spy during patrol today.

These wounds were caused by the spy.”

“I see…”

Tsukimi suddenly understood.

She snorted coldly and complained again,

“It’s all those Anbu’s fault.

They actually let a spy into the village.”

“Grandpa originally wanted me to train with you too.

He said something about your strength being too poor to support the Uchiha or whatever.”

Training?

Yuto did not want training.

He had to control his strength.

He absolutely could not let it grow too quickly.

Otherwise, the number of ninja capable of killing him would only get smaller and smaller.

Just like today.

That guy had clearly been a spy, so logically, he should not have been weaker than a chunin.

Yet Yuto had killed him with one slash.

He really did not know what opportunities would still be left for him to die unexpectedly in the village.

He could not take dangerous missions alone, and patrol work rarely encountered any real danger.

He was worried sick.

“Tsukimi, thank you for the thought, but as you can see, my body probably cannot handle training for a while.”

“Why don’t you head home first?

After my injuries heal, we can train.”

Right now, Yuto only wanted to send her away.

He did not want anything else complicating matters.

“All right.”

Tsukimi nodded.

But just after saying that, she thought for a moment and actually spoke again.

Yuto’s heart leaped into his throat.

Please, just leave already.

I really do not want to train.

“Yuto, how about I help you make dinner?

Cooking must be inconvenient for you right now.”

When he heard it was not training, Yuto breathed a sigh of relief.

He did not want to cook anyway.

Even if Tsukimi had not offered, he would have gone out to buy something to eat.

After all, his wounds really did hurt.

So he nodded and said,

“Thanks, Tsukimi.

I appreciate it.”

Tsukimi’s face brightened.

She patted her not exactly overflowing chest with pride and said,

“Don’t worry.

I’m pretty confident in my cooking.”

Yuto opened the door and brought her into the house.

After that, he returned to his room and casually picked up a novel to read.

Entertainment in this world was rather scarce.

For ordinary people, it was probably limited to reading and watching movies.

Yuto was no exception.

Konoha did not have a movie theater, so he could only pass the time with novels.

Even the novels tended to be on the serious side.

Jiraiya’s famous masterpiece, Make-Out Paradise, had not even been written yet.

At the mention of Make-Out Paradise, Yuto suddenly had a good idea.

He vaguely remembered that when Jiraiya had been gathering material, Tsunade once caught him and nearly beat him to death.

If Yuto also went gathering material and got caught, would a powerful female ninja beat him to death on the spot?

After all, his strength was only at the genin level.

Any jonin could casually kill him in one hit.

He was a genius.

He would go tonight.

Just then, Tsukimi finished cooking.

She knocked on Yuto’s door and said,

“Yuto, dinner is ready.

Come eat.”

Hearing that, he immediately tossed the novel aside, left his room, and sat down at the table.

The meal was not especially lavish, but it tasted quite good.

Tsukimi had not been bragging.

Her cooking really was decent.

Watching Yuto eat heartily, a satisfied smile appeared on her face too.

After the dishes were cleared away, Yuto was just about to walk Tsukimi home when the front door was pushed open from outside, and a gentle female voice entered the house.

“Yuto, are you home?

I came to help change your bandages.”

It was Nono Yakushi’s voice.

Yuto quickly went out to greet her.

“Big Sis Nono, why are you here?”

Nono rolled her eyes at him.

“Because you got yourself covered in injuries again.

I was afraid you would go do something dangerous before you recovered, so I came to change your bandages.”

After saying that, Nono saw Tsukimi inside the house and immediately covered her mouth with a soft laugh.

“It looks like I came at a bad time.

Did I interrupt you and your girlfriend spending time alone?”

Nono’s words made Tsukimi’s face heat up at once.

She stammered as she tried to explain,

“N-No, I only helped Yuto make dinner…

I’m not his girlfriend…”

Nono’s gaze drifted toward the plates that had not yet been cleared from the table, and she smiled mischievously.

“Is that so?

Then the two of you must be very close.

You almost look like you live together.”

Tsukimi was too embarrassed to speak.

Yuto did not want to dwell on the girlfriend topic.

He had no intention of getting a girlfriend in the Naruto world.

One day, he did not know when, his plan to die would succeed.

Getting a girlfriend would only waste her time.

He said blandly,

“Big Sis Nono, Tsukimi is just someone I know.

There is no special relationship between us, so do not overthink it.”

Yuto’s words sounded rather heartless, and Tsukimi felt strange after hearing them.

What did he mean, no special relationship?

Just someone he knew?

He made it sound as if she were some third party.

Pouting angrily, Tsukimi put on her shoes and left without saying a word.

Watching her leave in anger, Yuto felt completely baffled.

Still, that was fine.

If Tsukimi was angry, maybe she would stop bringing up training him.

Let her go.

Seeing Yuto remain unmoved, Nono shook her head helplessly.

This guy was far too dense.

Could he not at least explain things to her?

But girls these days really were thin-skinned.

Being called just someone he knew in front of another woman would obviously make anyone unhappy.

Still, Nono had not come tonight to mediate his love life.

She needed to hurry up and change his bandages.

After that, she still had to return to the orphanage.

Taking out her medical kit, Nono said,

“Come here, Yuto.”

Yuto obediently did as told.

He took off his shirt, revealing the old and new bandages wrapped across his upper body.

Beneath the bandages were crisscrossing scars, some deep and some shallow.

All of them had been left behind by Yuto’s repeated attempts to get himself killed.

Every time Nono saw the scars on his body, her heart trembled.

“Yuto, please make sure you protect yourself.”

He thought for a moment, then threw out Answer Number 73 from his list of excuses specifically for dealing with Nono.

“How can a man’s road through life be free of storms?”

Nono burst into laughter and flicked him on the forehead.

“What man?

You’re clearly still just a child.”
