The morning sun rose slowly over the Uchiha clan compound, casting a warm, golden light through the thin paper windows of Shinra’s bedroom.

For the first time in what felt like a hundred lifetimes, Shinra did not wake up to the harsh, blaring sound of a war horn.

There was no shouting in the distance, no smell of burning wood, and no frantic rushing of footsteps in the hallways.Full novel: Naruto: Uchiha Madara’s Elder Brother is Konoha’s Strongest Hokage — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

There was only the quiet, peaceful chirping of small forest birds and the distant, comforting sound of a wooden broom sweeping the dirt paths outside.

Shinra lay on his thick, soft cotton futon for a few moments, simply listening to the peace.

He took a deep, slow breath.

Inside his chest, his Matured Sage Body hummed quietly, pumping rich, warm chakra through his veins.

He felt completely rested, healthy, and incredibly strong.

He slowly pushed the warm blankets aside and stood up on the smooth woven floor mats.

He walked over to his wooden washbasin, splashing cold, refreshing water onto his face to clear away the last bits of sleep.

Today was a very important day.

Today was his first official day stepping away from the muddy battlefields to take his place in the clan administration office as his father’s right-hand man.

Shinra dressed carefully.

He put on his traditional dark blue, high-collared shirt, making sure the proud red and white fan of the Uchiha clan was perfectly centered on his back.

He tied his white cloth belt securely around his waist and wrapped the clean, soft bandages around his shins.

He didn’t put on his heavy red chest armor today.

He was not a soldier heading to the trenches; he was a leader heading to the council.

When Shinra slid his wooden bedroom door open and stepped out into the main hallway, he found his father waiting for him.

Tajima Uchiha looked completely different this morning.

The hardened, scary warlord who usually wore dented armor and carried a massive broadsword was gone.

In his place stood a dignified, proud Clan Head.

Tajima wore a long, elegant black kimono, his wild dark hair tied back neatly.

The heavy, dark circles that usually sat under his eyes from sleepless nights of war had finally faded away.

“Good morning, Shinra,” Tajima said.

His deep, rumbling voice was soft and full of quiet, fatherly warmth.

“Good morning, Father,” Shinra replied, bowing his head slightly in respect.

“Did you sleep well?” Tajima asked, placing a large, heavy hand gently on his son’s shoulder.

“Like a rock,” Shinra smiled warmly.

“The silence takes a little getting used to, but it is a good kind of silence.” Tajima let out a low, happy chuckle.

“It is the sound of peace, my son.

We bought five years of it with our blood and our sweat.

Now, we must use this time wisely to rebuild.

Come.

It is time for you to see how the heart of the clan truly beats.” The father and son walked side by side out of the main family house and into the bustling dirt streets of the compound.

The morning air was crisp and fresh.

Everywhere they looked, the clan was coming to life.

Women were carrying woven baskets of wet clothes to the washing lines.

Small children were chasing each other around the wooden houses, laughing brightly.

The delicious, savory smell of roasting fish and boiling white rice drifted from the open kitchen windows, making Shinra’s stomach rumble slightly.

As they walked, every single person they passed completely stopped what they were doing.

They set down their baskets, lowered their tools, and bowed deeply and respectfully as Tajima and Shinra walked by.

Soon, the dirt path turned into smooth, flat stepping stones.

At the very center of the compound, surrounded by high stone walls, stood the Clan Administration Office.

It was a massive, beautiful building made of dark, polished wood and heavy grey stone.

Two elite guards wearing red armor stood by the giant sliding doors.

When they saw Tajima and Shinra approaching, they quickly bowed and pulled the heavy doors open.

Shinra stepped inside, breathing in the rich, earthy smell of old parchment paper, dried ink, and burning incense.

The main hall was absolutely huge.

Long, low wooden tables filled the room, covered in stacks of scrolls, brushes, and inkwells.

Dozens of older Uchiha men and women were rushing around, carrying ledgers and whispering quietly to one another.

The moment Shinra’s foot touched the wooden floorboards, a loud, sharp voice rang out across the hall.

“The Clan Head and the Young Patriarch have arrived!” Instantly, the entire room fell dead silent.

Every single worker, every clerk, and every guard stopped moving.

In perfect unison, they all dropped to their knees on the floor mats and pressed their foreheads deeply against the ground.

It was a staggering display of absolute, unquestioned loyalty.

Shinra stood tall next to his father, his dark eyes calmly scanning the kneeling crowd.

He felt a deep, profound understanding settle into his mind.

In his past life on Earth, he had read stories about the future of the ninja world.

He knew that decades from now, when the hidden villages were built, clan politics would become messy.

In that future time, cowardly elders hiding in the shadows could scheme, plot, and even assassinate a Clan Head if they disagreed with them.

But this was not the future.

This was the Warring States period.

In this dark, bloody era, a clan was a monarchy.

The Clan Head was the absolute king, and his eldest son was the ruling prince.

However, a royal bloodline was simply not enough to keep the throne.

In this brutal ninja world, strength was the only universal law.

If Shinra had been a weak boy, if he had been a coward who hid behind his father’s armor, these people would not be bowing so deeply right now.

The elders would have eventually plotted to replace him with someone stronger, because a weak leader meant the entire family would be slaughtered by the Senju.

But Shinra was not weak.

Every single person in this room knew the terrifying truth.

They knew that the twelve-year-old boy standing at the door had awakened the fully matured Sharingan.

They knew he possessed massive, monstrous chakra reserves.

They knew he had slaughtered a veteran Senju Jonin in single combat, and they knew his brilliant tactical mind had single-handedly won the war at the river.

Because his sheer, overwhelming strength matched his royal bloodline, his position was absolute.

Nobody in the entire compound would ever dare to question him.

“Rise,” Tajima commanded smoothly.

The workers all sat up, their eyes filled with deep, genuine respect as they looked at Shinra.

“Shinra,” Tajima said, keeping his voice low so only his son could hear.

He gestured to the massive, busy room.

“To swing a sword and kill an enemy takes bravery.

But to make sure these people have enough rice to eat, enough iron to forge their kunai, and enough medicine to heal their sick…

that takes true wisdom.” Tajima placed his hands behind his back, looking proudly out over the room.

“You already know the Grand Elders,” Tajima explained, his tone serious and educational.

“But the Grand Elders only advise me on war and treaties.

The actual, everyday survival of this massive compound is governed by five specific people.

We call them the Five Pillars.” Shinra listened closely, his sharp mind memorizing every word.

“There are five main departments,” Tajima continued, pointing to different sections of the large hall.

“The first is Logistics, who manage our money and the payment of our soldiers.

The second is the Blacksmithing Forge, who control our iron and weapons.

The third is Agriculture, who manage our farming fields and food storage.

The fourth is the Medical Corps, who handle our herbs and healing supplies.

And the fifth is the Intelligence branch, who manage our scout reports and messenger birds.” Tajima turned to look deep into Shinra’s eyes.

“I cannot fight a war if my men are starving or fighting with broken swords,” Tajima said quietly.

“These five pillars hold the clan up.

Starting today, you will learn how each one of them works.

You will learn the true weight of the Uchiha.” “I understand, Father,” Shinra nodded deeply, feeling a warm, heavy sense of responsibility settling into his heart.

He wasn’t just a fighter anymore.

He was a builder.

“Good,” Tajima smiled broadly.

The warlord turned toward the front of the room and waved his hand.

An older man with a neat, graying beard and a kind, heavily scarred face hurried over.

He walked with a slight limp, relying on a wooden cane.

“Shinra, this is Goro,” Tajima introduced the man.

“He is the head clerk of the Logistics department.

He lost his leg fighting bravely against the Hagoromo clan many years ago.

Now, he fights for us with a brush and ink.

He will be your guide today.” “It is an absolute honor, Shinra-sama,” Goro said, bowing so deeply he almost tipped over his cane.

His dark eyes were shining with genuine awe.

“The entire administration hall has been waiting eagerly for you.” “The honor is mine, Goro-san,” Shinra replied politely, offering a kind, respectful smile.

“Please, show me how our family survives.” Tajima patted Shinra heavily on the back, looking incredibly proud, before walking toward his large, private office at the back of the hall.

Shinra turned back to the old clerk, ready to begin his new life.

He had five years of peace ahead of him, and he was going to use every single second to make sure his clan became completely unstoppable.
