“These are the belongings of the Sand shinobi I encountered.”
Yagami Yue pulled out the shattered components of Baki’s puppet as evidence.
Gekkō Genmei immediately felt a sense of urgency.
“Elite Sunagakure shinobi rarely appeared this close to Konoha’s territory.
If one had appeared here, it meant the Sand’s military operations might be shifting toward this region.”
They weren’t ordinary shinobi.
If a Sunagakure puppet master had appeared in that area, it meant the Sand’s military operations might be shifting toward this region.
From beginning to end, Gekkō Genmei never suspected that Yagami Yue had killed Kyōjirō.
As far as he knew, Yagami Yue was nothing more than a newly graduated genin who had barely learned any of the Three Basic Techniques beyond the Clone Technique.
Even if there had been a hundred Yagami Yues, they still wouldn’t have been capable of killing Kyōjirō.
“Go back and rest.
There may be another mission tomorrow…”
“Yes.”
Yagami Yue returned to his quarters, took a shower, and then began cultivating his chakra.
Today’s battle had been extremely intense.
He had also used Zoro’s techniques repeatedly.
Those techniques placed a tremendous burden on his body.
Since the abilities came from a completely different power system, his body relied on the shinobi world’s chakra to compensate for part of that burden.
As a result, he had consumed a considerable amount of chakra.
Chakra had now become his biggest weakness.
…
…
The Following Morning
Forest near the lake.
The site of Baki’s death.
The Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, arrived with several shinobi.
They had come to meet Baki.
But when they saw the fragments of the puppet, their expressions changed drastically.
“Those are Baki’s puppet fragments!”
“Where is Baki?”
They soon found Baki’s corpse.
“His head had been severed from his body, and both were lying in terrible condition…”, but his headband, clothing, and forehead protector were enough to identify him.
“Who did this?!”
Rasa was furious.
His killing intent surged.
BOOM!!
Countless grains of gold dust rose from the ground, swirling within a twenty-meter radius around him.
More and more accumulated, eventually gathering above his head into the shape of a gigantic pyramid.
The temperature around them seemed to drop several degrees.
Kekkei Genkai: Magnet Release!
“By transforming chakra into magnetic force, Rasa could control enormous quantities of gold dust.”
Baki had been a prodigy whom the Kazekage had placed great hopes in.
Over the past several years, Rasa had invested tremendous effort into nurturing him, hoping that Baki would eventually become one of his most reliable subordinates and a powerful shinobi supporting his faction.
And now—
Baki was dead.
A Sand shinobi knelt before Rasa.
“Kazekage-sama, according to our intelligence, there is a Konoha outpost thirty li from here.
The Konoha shinobi stationed at that outpost are the most likely suspects.”
“A Konoha outpost?”
Rasa’s voice immediately became cold.
“Move!”
Filled with murderous intent, Rasa led his three jōnin subordinates toward the outpost at full speed.
…
…
The Outpost
Yagami Yue was eating breakfast when his expression suddenly froze.
The spoon stopped in midair.
Through his Observation Haki, he sensed something to the west.
A fierce killing intent.
An utterly terrifying killing intent.
It was like a colossal tsunami that threatened to engulf him.
And the source was moving extremely fast.
“Danger!!”
Observation Haki gave him an extraordinarily powerful warning.
It was thousands of times more intense than the warning he had received from Kyōjirō.
They weren’t even remotely comparable.
“It’s a Sand shinobi.”
“And an extremely powerful one.”
Yagami Yue immediately put down his breakfast.
He quickly left the outpost and sprinted eastward. Visit g.com for the full chapter.
Konoha had treated him with such cruelty.
There was no reason for him to foolishly throw his life away protecting the outpost.
Less than a minute after Yagami Yue fled, he heard Gekkō Genmei’s voice coming from the direction of the outpost.
“Dammit!
It’s Rasa—the Fourth Kazekage!!”
Yagami Yue looked back.
Far in the distance, above the outpost, a gigantic metallic dragon had appeared.
It plunged toward the fortified outpost.
Through Observation Haki, Yagami Yue could feel the chakra reaction there.
It was terrifying.
Violent.
Boundless.
Like a massive tsunami erupting across the ocean.
The magnetic field exploded with power.
BOOM!!
The earth shook.
From where Yagami Yue stood, he watched the outpost disappear beneath the terrifying attack.
The entire fortress was destroyed as easily as a structure made of tofu.
A powerful shockwave swept through the surrounding forest.
A jōnin?
Against an attack of this magnitude, surviving would have been practically impossible.
Yagami Yue stared at the figure floating in the distant sky.
His expression was filled with excitement.
“So that’s the Fourth Kazekage?”
“Even the weakest of the village leaders is this powerful?”
Yagami Yue thought about the system he possessed.
Hashirama Senju.
Madara Uchiha.
Toneri Ōtsutsuki.
He had the opportunity to obtain the abilities of all of them.
His heart filled with anticipation.
And longing.
“Soon…”
“Even I, Yagami Yue, will possess power like that!”
“I’ll make the entire shinobi world remember the name Yagami Yue!”
“I’ll make the entire shinobi world bow before me!”
