The commander-in-chief, Orochimaru, was reviewing the reports being sent in from various parts of the battlefield.

Soon, one particular report caught his attention.

13 came under attack.

Based on an analysis of the battle scene, the attack has been confirmed to have been caused by the Fourth Kazekage’s Magnet Release.

There was only one survivor.

His name is Yagami Yue, a Konoha genin…”

Orochimaru wasn’t particularly interested in the person mentioned in the report.

As Konoha’s commander-in-chief on the front lines, he had tens of thousands of genin under his command.

One genin wasn’t worth spending his time on.

The fact that the Fourth Kazekage had appeared at Outpost No.

13, however, was something that genuinely concerned him.

Meanwhile, Yagami Yue was reassigned to the battlefield.

He was sent directly into the heart of the fighting, where the battles were at their fiercest.

He was assigned to the Third Battalion of the First Division.

Day One

Yagami Yue killed three enemy genin without suffering a single injury.

One of his comrades was killed.

Day Two

Yagami Yue killed five enemy genin, again without suffering a single injury.

Eight of his comrades were killed.

Day Three

Yagami Yue killed three enemy genin without injury.

Two of his comrades were killed.

By this point, Yagami Yue had begun to distinguish himself within the Third Battalion.

Every time he entered battle, he could effortlessly kill his opponents while remaining completely unharmed himself.

A teammate with that kind of ability was naturally welcomed by the rest of the squad.

Day Four

Yagami Yue single-handedly killed an enemy chūnin.

The feat sent shockwaves throughout the entire Third Battalion.

Day Five

Yagami Yue’s squad was surrounded by an enemy force twice its size.

At the critical moment, Yagami Yue suddenly exploded into action.

He killed two chūnin, resolving the crisis and saving his squad.

This time, even the Third Battalion’s commander, Uzuki Nakamura, was alerted to his performance.

Day Six

A large Sunagakure force launched a surprise attack against Konoha’s First Division.

Yagami Yue once again produced an astonishing result.

Wielding nothing but a single sword, he suddenly charged toward a renowned enemy jōnin.

The surprise attack succeeded.

At least several hundred shinobi witnessed the scene.

The battlefield erupted in an uproar.

A genin had killed a jōnin!

Where had this monster come from?

He was only seven or eight years old, yet he had already killed a jōnin?

Even Konoha’s prodigy, Kakashi, hadn’t been this outrageous at that age, had he?

The name Yagami Yue began spreading throughout the First Division.

His reputation was gradually catching up with Kakashi’s.

Coincidentally, Kakashi’s father, Sakumo Hatake, was a master swordsman.

And Yagami Yue also relied on a sword to kill his enemies rather than using ninjutsu.

More and more shinobi began paying attention to him.

A wave of curiosity swept through the First Division.

Thousands of shinobi were discussing Yagami Yue.

Where was this boy from?

How old was he?

What clan did he belong to?

Who was his teacher?

Once people started investigating, Yagami Yue’s background naturally couldn’t remain hidden.

“What?!

He’s a civilian shinobi?”

“And he only just graduated from the Academy?”

“He’s been on the battlefield for less than a month?”

“He only knows the Clone Technique?”

“Good grief!

With that little training, he can still kill a jōnin?”

“Since when did Sunagakure’s jōnin become this pathetic?”

“Have I wasted all these years as a shinobi?”

One Konoha shinobi after another felt as though ten thousand grass-mud horses were galloping through their hearts.

The world suddenly seemed filled with nothing but malice.

Over the following days, whenever Yagami Yue walked through the battlefield, he received countless curious glances.

The eyes staring at him were filled with the resentment of people who had spent years struggling to become competent shinobi, only to encounter this ridiculous prodigy.

As the number of Sunagakure shinobi he killed continued to increase, the Sand also began paying attention to Yagami Yue.

“This boy has killed so many of our shinobi?!”

“How is that possible?!”

“Which clan does this genius belong to?”

“The Uchiha?”

“The Hyūga?”

“Who is his teacher?”

“What?!

He’s a civilian shinobi?”

“He only just graduated from the Academy?”

“And he doesn’t even have a jōnin instructor leading his team?”

He’s even more talented than that Kakashi!”

“This can’t continue.

We have to kill him at any cost!”

“Otherwise, once he grows stronger, he’ll become another one of Konoha’s Legendary Three Ninja!”

And so, Sunagakure began issuing targeted assassination missions against Yagami Yue.

One chūnin squad after another.

One jōnin squad after another.

They attempted to surround and kill him.

But Sunagakure soon found itself in an extremely frustrating situation.

This kid seemed to possess some kind of sixth sense.

He could somehow avoid their traps and ambushes every single time.

Worse still, whenever they let their guard down, he would turn around and kill them instead.

His swordsmanship was bizarre.

Impossible to predict.

Extremely difficult to defend against.

Over the course of several days, Sunagakure suffered the loss of more than ten chūnin and three jōnin at Yagami Yue’s hands.

The losses were devastating.

The Sand forces were completely at a loss.

Damn it!

Is this really a genin?

Is Konoha deliberately messing with us?!

Damn Konoha!!

The Sand shinobi were so furious that their faces practically twisted.

Thus, whenever Yagami Yue appeared in a particular area of the chaotic battlefield, the Sunagakure genin and chūnin there reacted as though they had encountered a terrifying beast.

Whoosh!

They immediately scattered.

Instead of fighting Yagami Yue, they sought out other Konoha shinobi to engage.

They avoided Yagami Yue like the plague.

Behind the scenes, they even gave him a nickname:

The Beast’s Blade

The name represented his beast-like instincts and his equally ferocious swordsmanship.

The nickname soon reached Konoha.

And the Konoha shinobi felt that it was surprisingly fitting.

Before long, the name spread throughout the battlefield.

The Beast’s Blade.

That became Yagami Yue’s new title.

He had begun to establish his own reputation on the battlefield.

His name was spreading.

And Yagami Yue was finally beginning to make his mark on the shinobi world.
