It took Yang Ming only ten minutes to run from Zhang Wei’s territory back to Jade Spirit Lake.
When he was one thousand meters from Jade Spirit Lake, Yang Ming ordered the warriors to remain where they were and stand by while he cautiously advanced alone.
In front of the Blackrock Giant Bear, whose combat power reached 400 points, even Summoning more warriors would only be sending them to their deaths.
Yang Ming silently reached a spot five hundred meters from Jade Spirit Lake and hid behind a large rock.
The next second, Yang Ming took the Snakebone Fish out of the system storage.
“Damn, this smell is incredible! It’s so fragrant and mouthwatering!” The moment he took out the Snakebone Fish, Yang Ming caught its wonderful, fresh aroma.
It was both fresh and fragrant. Just one sniff was enough to make anyone feel as though they were floating in paradise, unable to stop.
The Snakebone Fish was not very large, weighing only around ten pounds, but its patterns were exquisite, its flesh crystalline and translucent, and it shimmered with a faint blue glow.
Yang Ming could not imagine what a delicious dish a five-star chef would make if they cooked this Snakebone Fish.
“As expected of a large excellent grade fish. Its quality tier truly makes it a peerless delicacy.” Yang Ming finally understood why the Blackrock Giant Bear loved excellent grade fish so much.
This flesh was probably a hundred times more delicious than the finest delicacies on Blue Star.
“Whether I can occupy Jade Spirit Lake depends on whether this Snakebone Fish can do its job.” Yang Ming muttered to himself.
That was right. Yang Ming intended to use this Snakebone Fish to lure the three blackrock giant bears out.
Of course, before that, Yang Ming still had to put poison in the Snakebone Fish.
The blackrock giant bears were not very intelligent, and they loved eating fish more than anything. Poisoning them was the best way to deal with them.
Yang Ming opened the system interface and entered the 【trading zone】. He searched for what he wanted.
Five minutes later, Yang Ming finally found a medicinal product that met his requirements.
【Name】: Mandrake.
【Quality tier】: fine grade.
【Description】: A medicinal herb that grows in swamps. Its sap contains an extremely potent intoxicant. Swallowing more than 5 ml at once will immediately induce a state of absolute unconsciousness.
After some haggling, Yang Ming ultimately exchanged ten pounds of skyhorn azure bull meat with the buyer for two Mandrake plants.
After obtaining the Mandrake, Yang Ming eagerly crushed it, then allowed its sap to thoroughly soak into the Snakebone Fish.
“Next, we’ll see whether the Mandrake can affect the blackrock giant bears.”
To be honest, Yang Ming was quite nervous.
After all, the Snakebone Fish was truly too valuable. Yang Ming had invested a great deal.
Yang Ming held his breath and carefully moved forward. Without alarming the blackrock giant bears, he placed the Snakebone Fish in an open area.
Once he had set down the Snakebone Fish, Yang Ming quickly retreated and hid behind the large rock again.
The fresh, fragrant scent released by the Snakebone Fish slowly began to spread.
The aroma was already extraordinarily enticing, so it reached the blackrock giant bears after only a short while.
The three blackrock giant bears had been sleeping beside Jade Spirit Lake when a tremendously alluring scent suddenly startled them awake.
The scent made them shudder violently.
“Roar!”
The blackrock giant bears became feverish with excitement and could not help throwing back their heads and letting out a long roar!
To the blackrock giant bears, fish were the most delicious food in the world, let alone a large excellent grade fish.
“Roar, roar, roar!”
Accompanied by a series of anxious roars, the three blackrock giant bears grew restless and began searching for the source of the fishy aroma.
Before long, the Snakebone Fish Yang Ming had placed near Jade Spirit Lake was finally discovered by the blackrock giant bears.
At that moment, the blackrock giant bears were like addicts tortured by drug cravings for half a month, and they frenziedly pounced toward the Snakebone Fish.
“Roar!”
The fastest was the largest Blackrock Giant Bear. It found the Snakebone Fish first and grabbed it.
But before it could stuff the Snakebone Fish into its mouth, the other two blackrock giant bears ferociously pounced over and slammed into it.
Skill activated: Fearless Charge!
The largest Blackrock Giant Bear was sent flying five or six meters, but its hide was thick and its flesh tough, so it was not injured in the slightest!
However, after being struck, it also became berserk.
Normally, relying on its size advantage, it was the leader. How could it tolerate its underlings challenging its position?
“Roar!”
The largest Blackrock Giant Bear instantly activated a skill as well.
Fearless Charge!
Launches a rapid charge, increasing movement speed by 50% and attack power by 50%.
Under normal circumstances, the other two blackrock giant bears would already have been frightened away by their leader. But at that moment, tempted by the Snakebone Fish, they showed no fear and charged forward as well.
After all, for the Blackrock Giant Bear species, they were willing to risk their lives just to eat fish.
“Roarrr!”
Amid a series of thunderous crashes, the three blackrock giant bears grappled and fought.
The battle was extraordinarily brutal.
Hidden behind the large rock, Yang Ming was witnessing such a fierce battle for the first time, and he became completely absorbed in it.
Compared with the blackrock giant bears, even a life-or-death duel between two 225-kilogram tigers on Blue Star would look like kittens playing.
Yang Ming did not even dare breathe loudly. He remained motionless behind the large rock and watched.
Until half an hour later.
After an intense battle, the largest Blackrock Giant Bear eliminated the other two blackrock giant bears with the bearing of a king.
It became tremendously excited.
Because it could finally enjoy the incomparably delicious Snakebone Fish all by itself.
The Blackrock Giant Bear lifted its head, clamped the Snakebone Fish in its jaws, and chewed loudly.
The delicacy seemed capable of reaching heaven itself, causing the Blackrock Giant Bear to completely overlook the taste of the Mandrake sap.
In the end, the entire ten-pound Snakebone Fish was swallowed by the Blackrock Giant Bear.
The Blackrock Giant Bear licked its lips in satisfaction, then returned to Jade Spirit Lake to rest.
But after walking only a dozen or so steps, the Mandrake’s intoxicating effect took hold. The enormous Blackrock Giant Bear began to stagger unsteadily.
At last, under Yang Ming’s expectant gaze, the largest Blackrock Giant Bear slowly collapsed to the ground.
“Holy crap, it actually worked!”
Upon seeing this, Yang Ming shouted excitedly.
Yang Ming had already prepared himself for failure. After all, Mandrake was only a fine grade plant and might not affect the Blackrock Giant Bear.
But unexpectedly, the plan had actually succeeded!
Unable to suppress his excitement, Yang Ming immediately ran over.
Yang Ming discovered that the largest Blackrock Giant Bear had fallen into a state of extreme unconsciousness and would definitely not wake up for six hours.
As for the other two blackrock giant bears, they had died in the internal battle just now.
Suddenly, the system’s notification sounded:
【Ding, Jade Spirit Lake has been detected to be unoccupied. Would you like to occupy Jade Spirit Lake?】
“Yes!”
Yang Ming agreed directly without a second thought.
This was a level-three resource field. As long as he claimed it, Yang Ming would be able to rapidly widen the gap between himself and the other lords.
