Qin Muxue was undergoing specialized physical training. Ever since she had inherited the Qin family estate, she could spend money recklessly without a care in the world.

In addition to physical training, she had also received shooting instruction.

She had even hired the best doctors in the world to treat the injury on her arm.Full novel: Natural Disasters Arrive: Hoarding Ten Billion Worth of Supplies to Navigate the Apocalypse — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Unfortunately, her old, lingering wound still required a long period of treatment and rehabilitation. She had followed the hospital’s advice and undergone recovery training, but the results were minimal.

But time waited for no one—she simply didn’t have that much time to spare.

Qin Muxue was now something of a wealthy woman, yet she still lived in a rented apartment building. As soon as she opened the door, Baozhu and Zhenzhu came bounding up to greet her.

Under her careful care, Zhenzhu and Baozhu had already grown a full size rounder. Zhenzhu, in particular, spent her days tearing around the house like a little parkour expert.

Qin Muxue boiled some beef for their dinner. At first, they had been tiny kittens, but now they could already gnaw on beef, and their frames seemed to have grown a full size larger than other cats.

“Zhenzhu, you’re growing so fast.”

Qin Muxue opened the refrigerator, pulled out a can of drink, and gulped it all down. The frustration in her heart instantly melted away. Sometimes, even money couldn’t solve problems of the body.

She didn’t know what to do about her right arm. According to the doctors, she would need about five more years of careful recuperation before she could fully recover. After her recent intensive training, she could clearly feel a dull ache radiating from the wound.

She closed her eyes, and her consciousness immediately entered the Space.

In the corner were all the supplies she had stockpiled, each item neatly categorized so she wouldn’t have to rummage around in confusion when retrieving things.

A while back, she had also gone to a water plant and bought ten thousand large barrels of purified drinking water in bulk. She had also purchased several water storage tanks and filled a thousand barrels with tap water, reserved for bathing in the future.

In the Cultivation Zone, she had already planted quite a number of plants during her spare time.

There were all kinds of fruits—grapevines, pear trees, orange trees—along with many other trees: camphor trees, osmanthus trees, pine trees, and so on.

She had even tried scattering some seeds for melons, fruits, and vegetables. Perhaps they would sprout in time, and then she could enjoy freshly harvested produce.

Qin Muxue gazed at the lush, thriving scene and couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride.

Suddenly, she noticed something growing on the camphor tree that looked like a mushroom, yet somehow didn’t quite resemble one. What on earth was that? She observed it for a long while but couldn’t make heads or tails of it, so she simply continued walking forward.

Up ahead was a place shrouded in mist, but as she approached, the thick fog gradually dispersed, revealing a spring with water that gushed forth endlessly.

Qin Muxue looked around and found nothing else out of the ordinary.

The plants surrounding this spring grew exceptionally lush, and the trees grew at an astonishingly rapid pace.

Without thinking, she reached out, cupped her hands, and scooped up some of the clear spring water, taking a few sips. Instantly, she felt refreshed and invigorated. The water was crisp, clean, and faintly sweet. She even felt as though her nearsighted eyes could see more clearly than before.

This spring water actually had such miraculous properties—truly incredible.

Qin Muxue tried sprinkling some of the water onto the apple tree beside her. In response, the tree rapidly shot up into a towering giant, its branches laden with bright red apples.

Qin Muxue plucked one, wiped it off, and took a bite. It was even sweeter and more delicious than any fruit she had ever bought.

She tried watering the seeds with the Spirit Spring Water again, and the vegetables and fruits actually grew out instantly. In no time, her Cultivation Zone was a lush green expanse, and the strawberry seeds she had just scattered had already produced strawberries.

She picked a strawberry, and its sweet-and-sour flavor refreshed her heart and lungs. She picked a few more strawberries and various other vegetables, planning to take them back to share with the cats and dogs.

After Qin Muxue came out of the Space, she slept a deep, drowsy sleep.

The next day, when she climbed out of bed, she found that her hearing had become much sharper. Normally, after training, her arm would ache, but this time, her arm felt no pain at all, and her body felt much lighter.

When she looked in the mirror, she discovered that her originally fair skin had become so delicate it seemed it would break at a touch, flawless, more effective than applying foundation.

Aside from yesterday’s Spirit Spring Water, she couldn’t think of anything else that could have such an effect.

In the morning, she brewed a cup of oatmeal, added a few strawberries, and opened some electronic pickles that a pet blogger had prepared for cats and dogs. On a whim, she decided to prepare a meal for her own cats and dogs as well.

Baozhu had always loved air-dried food, so Qin Muxue took some air-dried beef jerky, added a few washed strawberries, some broccoli, and poured in some goat’s milk. For dessert after the meal, she gave her freeze-dried rabbit ears.

Zhenzhu, having been a stray before, wasn’t a picky eater, so Qin Muxue gave her a can of rabbit meat as the main course. Zhenzhu’s appetite was larger than that of ordinary cats, so Qin Muxue also peeled a few large shrimp for her, plus half a bottle of goat’s milk.

The two ate everything clean, so it seemed she would need to prepare more variety for them in the future.

To strengthen the cats’ and dogs’ constitutions, Qin Muxue also specially prepared some Spirit Spring Water for them to drink.

Afterward, Qin Muxue couldn’t wait to head to the training ground.

She picked up a bow and arrow, aimed at the target, and drew the bow with the force of pushing with her left shoulder and pulling with her right arm, continuing to draw until the tiger’s mouth of her right hand rested against her jaw. With a “whoosh,” she hit the target in one shot.

Qin Muxue’s heart surged with excitement, and she felt no pain in her arm at all.

Moreover, it seemed easier than before to shoot the arrow, indicating that her physique had also been transformed by the Spirit Spring.

She practiced at the shooting range for half a day without feeling the slightest bit tired, and her shots became more and more accurate.

Qin Muxue could hardly contain her excitement and quickly made a phone call to have Ding Manman come over.

When Ding Manman arrived, Qin Muxue was practicing shooting, which typically used specialized firearms for such training.

“Manman, how’s your shooting practice going lately?”

Ever since Ding Manman had believed in Qin Muxue’s prophecy about the Apocalypse, she had been dragged to the training ground every day by Qin Muxue to practice, and she had done quite a few shooting sessions.

Ding Manman skillfully picked up the gun and fired “bang, bang, bang” a few shots ahead. She didn’t hit the bullseye, but for a beginner, it was already a decent result.

“Manman, you’re getting better and better!” Qin Muxue couldn’t help but praise her.

Ding Manman could tell that Qin Muxue was in very high spirits today, as if she had encountered some great good news.

“Muxue, you’re in a great mood.”

“Yeah, my arm seems to have recovered quite a bit. This is truly wonderful news for me.”

Although she trusted Ding Manman completely, she still needed to plan carefully before telling her about having the Space.

“That’s wonderful.” Ding Manman was genuinely happy for her.

The two of them went through another round of physical training before taking a shower, drenched in sweat.

Qin Muxue said mysteriously to Ding Manman, “Manman, I want to take you to a great place!”

They took a cab to the yacht dock by the seaside. Qin Muxue gave a wink and said, “Manman, take a look at what this is?”

“A yacht!” Ding Manman answered honestly.

“Take a look at its name.”

Only then did Ding Manman approach the luxurious yacht and look closely. Written on it were the words “Manman Hao” (Manman’s Number).

“Xiao Xue, this…”

“A yacht that belongs to us — let’s call it Manman Hao.”

“Haha.” Ding Manman broke into a smile. “You really put so much thought into this.”

Later, Qin Muxue also purchased two smaller yachts, one named Zhenzhu Hao and the other Baozhu Hao.

The two of them took the luxurious yacht for a spin out on the sea. Ding Manman screamed with excitement, venting all the unhappiness in her heart.

“Manman, is there something that’s making you unhappy?”

Qin Muxue could tell — every time Manman had something bothering her, she would always hide it from her. But now, with her keen powers of observation, she could spot her unhappiness right away.

The sea breeze blew against her face as she lowered her head dejectedly. “I can’t hide anything from you. My uncle wants to take over the house in my hometown. You know that’s the only thing my parents left me. It may not be worth much, but it’s my only keepsake.”

She hadn’t originally wanted to tell Qin Muxue about this, but the two of them were now the people who trusted each other most in the world, and she didn’t want to keep it from her.

On the yacht’s dining table were steak and orange juice — normally Ding Manman’s favorite foods — but thinking about the troubles at home, she suddenly lost her appetite.

“Where is the house in your hometown?”

“My hometown is up in the Northeast.”

Qin Muxue looked thoughtful. “Since it’s something that belongs to you, they can’t take it away!”

“After my parents passed away, all the family property was divided up by my uncle and the rest of them. But aside from daily expenses, I haven’t bought a single new piece of clothing since I was little, and I’ve always had to scrape by.”

Ding Manman let out a helpless sigh. “Even their house was bought with the money they got from my family’s property.”

But the laws were not well-established back then, and there was no notarization — it was just a verbal agreement. Now Ding Manman had no evidence to prove that the house was theirs.

“Xiao Xue, you’re well-traveled and knowledgeable. Is there any way you can help me?”

“I’ll ask a lawyer about it.”

The Northeast region was the last part of the country to suffer disaster.

Located inland, its winters were extremely cold. As a result, Northeasterners had a strong tolerance for cold weather, and their homes were heated with heated brick beds (kangs). Even without electricity, they could withstand the harsh cold. Moreover, when winter came, they had the habit of stocking up on vegetables — unlike in the South, where people only bought a few days’ worth of groceries at a time.

Qin Muxue had actually been thinking about moving to the Northeast anyway. Now that Manman provided the perfect opportunity, she told her all her thoughts.

“You want to move to the Northeast?” Manman was both surprised and a little worried. “Xiao Xue, I know you have money, but the Northeast isn’t as nice as you imagine. You’ve lived in a tropical region your whole life — the winters up there are really tough, especially in the countryside. Many places don’t even have central heating.”

“I once dreamed about it—the disasters in the Northeast region are the smallest. Everywhere else suffers catastrophic destruction, but that place is still survivable. Manman, just listen to me. Go apply for a leave of absence right now, and I’ll find a way to reclaim your family’s property! That was left to you by your parents—how can you let others take it for nothing?” After Qin Muxue’s passionate outpouring, Ding Manman agreed to her suggestion.

“Are you really willing to give up everything you have in Xuanwu City and go to that remote Northeast region? Those prophetic dreams—maybe not every one of them is accurate.”

“Even so, I’m willing to go see your hometown. And my dreams are absolutely real.”

Seeing the firm determination in the other’s eyes, Ding Manman finally made up her mind.

Since Qin Muxue was willing to sacrifice so much for her, she would fully support her ideas as well.

“Alright.”

“In the meantime, we absolutely cannot stop our training. If you’re uncomfortable staying at your uncle’s place, move into my house first.”

Qin Muxue gave her instructions, and Ding Manman nodded.

As soon as the two parted ways, Qin Muxue quickly contacted a lawyer to consult on this matter. Unfortunately, too much time had passed, and without deeds or property certificates as proof, the hope of reclaiming the house was very slim.

Qin Muxue asked the lawyer to come up with a good solution and contact her later. Just then, she received a call from the auto shop master telling her to come inspect the modified vehicle.

When Qin Muxue arrived at the shop, she found her RV had been completely transformed. Originally, she had purchased a high-performance RV equipped with solar generators and a hybrid electric-gasoline system.

Now it was fitted with an advanced security system and defense system. If anyone attacked the vehicle, it would emit a signal. On the front and sides of the vehicle, hidden attack blades had been installed—if ambushed, these attack systems would automatically deploy.

“And about the spot you wanted left on the roof—I’ve set that up for you too, though I don’t know what you plan to install.”

Qin Muxue was very satisfied. After inspecting everything and finding no issues, she paid the remaining balance and gave the master an extra twenty thousand yuan as a bonus.

The master was delighted—the money from modifying this vehicle equaled more than half a year’s wages for him. It was a fair deal.

As for the empty space on the roof, Qin Muxue planned to install weapons there.

In an era as chaotic as the Apocalypse, without weapons at their side, they would quickly die at the hands of Ability Users.

In her previous life, she hadn’t evolved a Special Ability, but in this life, possessing Space and the Spirit Spring was already tremendous luck.

Glancing at the time on her phone, there was less than three months until the Apocalypse. It was time to go check on the results of her investments. After securing those substantial funds, she still had more important things to purchase.
