Нe Yаng replied with trеpidаtion, “It wasn’t me…”

“Stоp рretеnding,” Duаn Tianhuа said. “Jiang Si valuеs уоu аnd has alrеаdу thrоwn a fit at us. If уou dоn’t stir up troublе, we cаn coеxist peасеfully.”

Не Yang lowerеd her gаzе.

As if pеacе was аll shе wаnted.

Whаt she wantеd wasn’t just pеасe.

She wanted a divorce.

Shе wаnted to leavе thе Jiang family, tо lеave Jiang Siye!

She wanted Jiang Siye to see her as a nuisance, to think she was disobedient, a burden, a troublemaker!

She wanted Jiang Siye to grow tired of her, to personally drive her out!

She wanted Jiang Siye to be the one to ask for this divorce!

He Yang looked up. “I will, Mom.”

Duan Tianhua took a deep breath. “Then tell Si not to come back. Don’t make him worry about things at home and outside.”

He Yang nodded and made another call.

The call connected.

“Don’t come back,” He Yang said truthfully. “I won’t stir up trouble anymore. Mom isn’t holding it against me.”

Duan Tianhua was furious. “Do you even know how to speak properly!”

He Yang replied, “I’m sorry, Mom. I wasn’t raised by parents, I have a poor and wretched appearance… I don’t deserve to eat the Jiang family’s food.”

Duan Tianhua trembled with anger, gritting her teeth. “Hang up the phone first, then we’ll talk.”

He Yang glanced at the phone, which was still on the call, and tapped to end it.

Jiang Siye’s car carried Xi Shang and Cao Yingjun.

The two had insisted on visiting the Jiang family to pay their respects to the Fourth Young Master’s wife.

The car’s Bluetooth speakerphone broadcast the conversation with crystal clarity.

Jiang Siye was as cold as ice.

Xi Shang shrugged knowingly.

Cao Yingjun was stunned. “You left your wife and your mom together. You’ve got guts.”

“How about we turn left up ahead,” Xi Shang suggested. “Let’s go for a drink.”

Jiang Siye remained silent as if deaf and mute.

The car continued toward the Jiang residence.

“Hey, this isn’t like you,” Cao Yingjun muttered. “Since when do you have the patience to deal with family matters?”

Jiang Siye suddenly snapped, “Didn’t you know I’m fucking married? Didn’t you know I’m a father now?”

“……” Cao Yingjun conceded. “Alright, alright, we owe you one on this. We just thought you didn’t care about these things.”

Jiang Siye asked, “What don’t I care about?”

Cao Yingjun replied, “You don’t care about anything.”

Jiang Siye said, “Get out.”

“I’m not wrong,” Cao Yingjun grumbled. “Shang and I both think you’re a playboy who’s been through countless flowers, suited to be a lone king, not to settle down and stay for anyone.”

The car screeched to a halt.

The door locks clicked open.

Jiang Siye repeated, “Get out.”

Xi Shang couldn’t help but laugh. “This has nothing to do with me.”

Their relationship had just started to improve, and he didn’t want to ruin it halfway.

Cao Yingjun clung to the car door. “Are you leaving or not? If your mom and your wife start fighting later, I wonder who you’ll help!”

Jiang Siye paused for a moment, his emotions unreadable, then restarted the car.

As they approached the Jiang family gate.

Jiang Siye uttered, “I’ll help my wife.”

The two: “…”

Utterly baffling.

The flowerbeds had been cleared by the servants, now bare and empty.

Madam Jiang was already sitting in the living room drinking tea, with He Yang seated opposite her, appearing harmonious and pleasant.

Jiang Siye tossed his keys onto the coffee table and gave He Yang a thorough once-over.

Duan Tianhua was infuriated by his action.

With guests present, mindful of propriety, Duan Tianhua quickly instructed the servants to serve tea and cut fruit.”Auntie, please don’t trouble yourself,” Cao Yingjun said cheerfully. “I just returned from abroad, and Shangshang just got back too, so we thought we’d come visit.”

Duan Tianhua replied, “You two sit and chat. I’ll go to the kitchen to arrange some things.”

Xi Shang politely said, “Sorry to disturb.”

The two of them took their seats.

Their eyes simultaneously fell on He Yang.

Beautiful.

Not the kind of stunning, aggressive beauty, but gentle, seemingly well-behaved, easily startled, delicate and vulnerable—a very approachable kind of pretty.

Jiang Siye didn’t bother introducing them, sighing helplessly, “Why did you dig up her peonies?”

He Yang replied without changing her expression, “I dug up the wrong ones.”

Jiang Siye said, “Do you think I believe that?”

He Yang replied, “Then kill me.”

Jiang Siye: “…”

Xi Shang: “…”

Oh.

So that’s how it is.

It really is just like that!

Cao Yingjun burst out laughing.

This wasn’t about not wanting to live.

This was clearly about wanting Jiang Siye dead.

“Miss He… Yangyang, right?” Cao Yingjun said eagerly. “I brought you a gift.”

Hearing a certain word, Jiang Siye felt a tug in his heart, unclear and inexplicable, but uncomfortable nonetheless.

Finally, he uttered a few stiff words, “Is ‘Yangyang’ for you to call?”

He Yang ignored him.

Cao Yingjun worked on intelligent robots and planned to start a company with a few friends after returning to China, focusing on intelligent companionship.

The gift he gave He Yang was a mini robot.

The robot’s cheeks were made of simulated human skin, with black curly hair, wearing a white shirt, a gray vest, and gray trousers—a perfect image of a five-year-old boy.

The robot could walk and talk.

It called out in a still unnatural voice, “Mom.”

He Yang was instantly struck, her lips turning pale.

Jiang Siye froze, his sharp eyes like knives cutting into Cao Yingjun’s face.

“We don’t want it,” he said through gritted teeth.

Cao Yingjun was also a bit flustered. Although he hadn’t been in the country, he knew He Yang and Jiang Siye had lost their child.

“Um… the technology isn’t mature yet. This is an experimental product,” Cao Yingjun said nervously. “Its program is preset to automatically collect information and communicate…”

He didn’t mean it!!

Jiang Siye’s thin, bony hand grabbed the little robot, looking as if he wanted to throw it back at him.

He Yang suddenly pried his hand open. “I want it.”

“…” Jiang Siye’s expression was cold. “No.”

The doctor had warned that nothing related to the baby should appear.

He had finally managed to dispose of the things prepared during the pregnancy, forced to leave only a seahorse behind.

Now this little robot was like poking at He Yang’s wound.

Yet He Yang was unusually stubborn, holding onto the robot. “I want it.”

Jiang Siye patiently coaxed, “Yangbao, be good…”

As soon as the word “good” left his mouth, He Yang reacted as if triggered, letting go, standing up, and walking upstairs without looking back.

She completely forgot there were guests, not even saying goodbye.

The conflict seemed to have been intensified by the robot. Cao Yingjun felt guilty and at a loss.

Xi Shang stared thoughtfully at He Yang’s disappearing figure.

“Bro, I didn’t mean it,” Cao Yingjun said with a pained expression. “First, the big robot was hard to bring, and second, the technology is even less mature. Don’t ask me why I made a little boy—I’m a man, I don’t understand girls, so of course I’d prefer to make a boy…”

He rambled on and on.

Xi Shang adjusted his glasses and interjected, “Every time you try to coax your wife, is it by telling her to be good?””……” Jiang Siye’s eyes, inscrutable in their emotions, looked over. “What?”

Xi Shang found it amusing. “You expect someone who’s currently experiencing grievance and pain to listen to you and compromise?”
