Jiang Siуе роinted at twо рiесes of sаtin fabriс: “What arе these fоr?”

He Yаng: “Bow ties, nесktiеs.”

“…” Thе glоom in Jiang Siyе’s stormу еyes fаded slightly. “Fоr me?”

“Nо,” Не Yang wаs very hоnest. “Our Gеnеrаl Manager Shen just got a pеt dоg, a male onе. I’m just sеnding a gift to my bоss.”

Jiаng Siye clenched his teeth.

The jealousy and anger he had painstakingly suppressed earlier could be reignited by a single sentence from her.

“You make things for this one, for that one,” Jiang Siye held back his anger. “Even your boss’s dog gets something. What about me? What about Da Ke?”

He Yang ignored him, lowering her head to fiddle with that box of beautiful buttons.

In this state of cold violence, Jiang Siye almost spat blood: “Shen Yishu, right? That illegitimate son of the Shen family who indulges in pleasure and neglects his duties…”

He Yang looked up.

Her eyes were pure and clear.

“What do you want to do?” she asked.

Jiang Siye sneered: “Whatever he does, he loses money. If the only shop he’s made a name for collapses again, his family’s old man will finish him off…”

He Yang heard the threat in his words.

She should stop being surnamed He.

She should be surnamed Edogawa.

Wherever she goes, death follows.

Utterly absurd.

But Jiang Siye had this kind of ability. Shen Yishu’s hard-earned foothold with S-ONE was, in his eyes, just proof of a prodigal son.

People truly cannot be compared. Even children from wealthy families carry labels of elite or waste.

The car window was open.

He Yang’s emotions surged uncontrollably. In one motion, she threw the beloved box of buttons out the window.

“Screech—”

The car braked sharply.

Jiang Siye’s chest heaved: “He Yang!”

“I’m not making them anymore,” He Yang’s eyes were dark, her blood almost boiling dry, yet her gaze remained calm. “I won’t make things for them anymore.”

Outside the window was a ginkgo tree-lined path, the ground covered with a thin layer of golden ginkgo leaves.

That box of buttons looked like an overturned paint palette.

Dazzling to the point of being blinding.

He Yang then threw out several stacks of fabric as well.

Brand new, beautiful pieces she had carefully selected one by one.

She didn’t want them anymore.

They were all well-packaged. It would be fine if someone picked them up, just not in her hands.

Don’t let them follow her.

She couldn’t protect anything.

Couldn’t protect anything at all.

A vein bulged at Jiang Siye’s temple. Indescribable emotions with no outlet forced his eyes to redden.

What had he even said?

If she just coaxed him a little, wouldn’t that be enough?

No matter how big the issue, if she just softened her tone, what wouldn’t Jiang Siye agree to for her?

Did she have to oppose him like this?

Jiang Siye gritted his teeth tightly, preventing himself from saying something he would regret in his rage.

He pushed open the car door and walked over to where the buttons lay scattered.

The buttons were strewn everywhere, mixed with the ginkgo leaves.

Jiang Siye crouched there, his back like a bowstring stretched to its limit. With his fingertips, he picked up those colorful buttons one by one, blowing off the dust before placing them back in the box.

A few buttons had gotten stuck in the cracks of the green belt. Jiang Siye used his Swiss Army knife—a cherished possession he always carried—to carefully pry them out.

He Yang watched blankly for a while, her hand unknowingly gripping the canvas bag on her lap, twisting the fabric out of shape.

If there hadn’t been so many things between them.

If there hadn’t been a child.

She truly loved him to the point of being unable to extricate herself.

But there were no ifs.She couldn’t bear this relationship that was so heavily influenced by external forces. She was exhausted, and being with him was utterly draining.

He always made decisions with a casual laugh and a few words.

He Yang’s resistance was futile, her objections meaningless.

Things she cared deeply about were mere trifles to Jiang Siye, not even worth an explanation.

What weighed like a thousand pounds to her, he dismissed with a flick of his finger.

Jiang Siye picked up everything she had thrown away.

Neither of them spoke again.

The car stopped at the Jiang residence.

A pearlescent white car was parked in the courtyard—not one of the Jiang family’s—guests had arrived.

Even before entering, the sounds of chatting and laughter could be heard.

Chi Dandan and Fifth Aunt had come.

Jiang Siye, holding the pile of fabrics and accessories, ignored everyone, not sparing a glance as he gloomily crossed the living room and headed upstairs.

“That ill-mannered brat,” Duan Tianhua scolded angrily. “Don’t mind him, he’s been too tired lately.”

As she said this, Duan Tianhua gave He Yang a meaningful look—neither too heavy nor too light.

It was loaded with implication, double-edged, and crystal clear.

He Yang showed no expression, handing her bag to Song Yi and very consciously picking up the eight-treasure teapot. “Let me serve you all some tea.”

“We’re lucky to enjoy the benefits of Little Four’s wife,” Fifth Aunt said, fiddling with the teacup lid. “As elders, we can accept a cup of tea from you, right?”

He Yang lifted the heavy teapot, tilting the spout toward Fifth Aunt’s cup. “Two cups would be fine too.”

As she spoke, as if struggling too much, the teapot suddenly wobbled, and He Yang’s hand slipped—

Fifth Aunt screamed.

A full pot of scalding hot tea, pot and all, crashed onto her.

He Yang stumbled back in panic, biting her hand. “What do I do, what do I do? I’m so useless, Mom, Third Sister, Sixth Aunt…”

Duan Tianhua frantically called for servants to bring towels, ice, and the family doctor.

The teapot was heavy, with excellent heat retention. The nourishing ingredients inside were steeped daily in boiling water to extract their nutrients.

A burn was one thing, but who knew if any bones were broken.

After ten chaotic minutes, Fifth Aunt was sent to the hospital, accompanied by Jiang Sanyun.

He Yang, of course, had to stay behind and face the scolding.

“She did it on purpose,” Duan Tianhua shouted. “Your wife did it on purpose!”

Jiang Siye leaned against the sofa, thoroughly annoyed. “And then?”

Duan Tianhua slammed the table. “She harmed your Fifth Aunt like this, and you ask me ‘and then’?”

Jiang Siye: “Are the servants not enough to handle it?”

“…”

“I went upstairs, and she immediately started pouring tea for you,” Jiang Siye asked. “She didn’t even catch her breath. Who told her to serve tea?”

Duan Tianhua’s fingers trembled. “She did it herself…”

Jiang Siye: “I don’t believe it.”

Duan Tianhua: “…”

“Are servants hired to be my wife?” Jiang Siye said. “Was my wife married to be your servant? It’s just a scalded leg and a bruised foot. Why not order me around? I’ll pour it on her face!”

Chi Dandan couldn’t help but interject, “Fourth Brother, it wasn’t Fifth Aunt…”

Jiang Siye: “Was it aimed at me? Upset I didn’t greet you when I came in? Angry I didn’t kneel three times and bow nine times?”

Duan Tianhua nearly fainted from anger.

He Yang twisted her fingers. “I’m sorry, Mom…”

Duan Tianhua snapped sharply, “You shut up!!”

He Yang turned her face away, as if she had expected this all along, her slender, delicate body swaying unsteadily before collapsing into Jiang Siye’s arms.

Sobbing softly, she whimpered, “I did it on purpose! Who told Fifth Aunt to say you have a child outside! And to urge Mom to make you abandon the mother and keep the child!”It was something Duan Tianhua and the others mentioned while chatting, saying not to worry about Jiang Siye having children—maybe there was already a woman outside who had given birth to one for him.

But Jiang Siye, who knows what he suddenly thought of, stiffened abruptly.

He Yang was pressed close against him and naturally noticed his unusual reaction.

She looked up: “Do you really have a child?”
