Jiang Siуe curled his lip slightlу аnd used thе sеrving сhорsticks tо рlаce bоth duсk legs intо He Yang’s bоwl.

“Jiang Siуe!” Jiang Sanуun snaрpеd. “Yоu’re giving her bоth duck legs?”

“What оf it?”

“Соuldn’t уou at lеаst lеаve onе for sоmeonе else?”

“Аre yоu starving?” Jiang Siyе rеtоrted sаrсasticallу. “You’vе рut on quite а bit of weight lаtelу, hаvеn’t yоu?”

Jiang Sanуun: “You’re аsking fоr it…”

Jiаng Siye: “Did you come baсk аfter stuffing yourself with shit оutsidе?”

“……”

Chi Dandan рullеd Jiang Sanyun back. “Alright, Fourth Sister-in-law isn’t well and needs nourishment.”

Jiang Sanyun snorted coldly.

He Yang couldn’t eat.

She couldn’t stomach anything.

Jiang Siye ladled a bowl of sticky rice porridge and coaxed her softly, “Then have some porridge. I asked our auntie to cook your favorite dishes. We’ll eat properly when we get home.”

He Yang looked at him. “I want to stay at my aunt’s place for a couple of days.”

“……” Jiang Siye fell silent briefly. “I’ve been too busy these days. How about I ask my cousin to come keep you company?”

He Yang: “I want to go to my aunt’s house.”

Her tone carried a subtle but unmistakable firmness.

He Yang was gentle by nature, a very obedient and compliant person. She almost never lost her temper. Such a resolute statement stirred an indescribable, suffocating unease in Jiang Siye.

It was as if going back to her aunt’s house was an opportunity, a turning point.

And the outcome this turning point would bring was something he certainly wouldn’t like.

Jiang Siye lowered his gaze and brought the spoon to her lips. “Be good, eat first.”

Once again, he brushed aside her matter.

He Yang’s eyes ached until they felt dry.

Others chimed in teasingly, “Such a loving young couple.”

“Siye really dotes on his wife.”

“Yangyang, you should be more understanding too,” Duan Tianhua said. “Fourth has to manage work outside and still attend to you at home…”

Jiang Siye lifted his eyes. “My wife just finished her postpartum confinement.”

Duan Tianhua: “It’s been a hundred days. Whose confinement lasts a hundred days?”

Jiang Siye grew impatient. “Mine does! Mine and Yangyang’s!”

“What are you getting so fierce about?” Jiang Sanyun objected. “Can’t Mom say a couple of words?”

Jiang Siye set down the bowl. “How come she doesn’t say anything when your boyfriend kneels to wash your feet, or when you have your period and your mom practically wants him to lick you clean…”

Seeing him go too far, Jiang Sanyun slammed the table and stood up. “Jiang Siye, you bastard!!”

“Good that you know I’m a bastard,” Jiang Siye sneered. “Don’t provoke me.”

With that, having no desire to stay any longer, Jiang Siye pulled He Yang to leave. “Let’s go home.”

Halfway out, Jiang Siye suddenly turned back, picked up the entire pot of ginger duck stew, and met the angry or stunned gazes of everyone with a roguish smile:

“Since this was made for my wife, I’m taking it.”

“……”

On the way home, He Yang curled up in the passenger seat and slept the entire journey.

She didn’t even wake up when they arrived.

Jiang Siye carried her upstairs, and the nanny came to open the door.

“Call the doctor over,” he said in a hushed voice. “There’s also a pot of ginger duck stew in the car. Please bring it up for me.”

He Yang hadn’t been eating properly day after day; her body couldn’t hold up, and she needed an IV drip.

After the doctor left, Jiang Siye went to the kitchen.

The nanny asked, “Shall I put it in the fridge for when Madam wakes up?”

“No need. Yangyang can’t handle such rich food,” Jiang Siye said. “You decide what to do with it.”

The nanny smiled. “Alright. Madam’s cooking is the best.”

Jiang Siye paused, as if finding it absurd. “Song Yi made it.”

“……” As if realizing her slip of the tongue, the nanny fell silent.Jiang Siye’s eyes turned cold. “What happened?”

The nanny didn’t dare to speak.

“Sister Zhang,” Jiang Siye said indifferently, “you take care of me and Yangyang. You have nothing to do with the Jiang family.”

Two meanings.

First, he would back her up.

Second, a warning.

Whoever you work for, you belong to that family.

The nanny stammered, “Madam Jiang called the young mistress back, saying the third young lady wanted to eat the ginger duck she made. This ginger duck was clearly made by the young mistress. The young mistress has a little habit when cooking—she likes to add a few tea leaves to remove the fishy smell. There are tea leaves in here.”

“…”

The nanny asked cautiously, “Didn’t you know?”

Jiang Siye fell silent.

He Yang woke up the next day.

She was curled up in Jiang Siye’s arms.

The man, with his long limbs, held her tightly, his chin resting against her forehead.

He Yang struggled slightly, and Jiang Siye held her even tighter. His dry lips pressed against her forehead as he kissed her, his voice hoarse with fatigue. “Sleep a little longer.”

He Yang refused, her hands searching around.

Jiang Siye opened his eyes. “What are you looking for?”

“My seahorse,” He Yang grew increasingly anxious. “Where’s my seahorse?”

“…” Jiang Siye’s gaze dimmed as he retrieved the seahorse from behind him and handed it to her.

He Yang quickly pressed it against her cheek and sniffed it.

Jiang Siye said, “I invited your aunt and cousin over.”

He Yang slowly looked up. “I want to go back to my home.”

“This is your home,” Jiang Siye’s tone was ambiguous. “Being by my side is your home.”

He Yang didn’t want to waste words with him. Holding the seahorse, she got out of bed and called her aunt and cousin, telling them not to come and that she would return soon.

Jiang Siye sat on the bed, his deep eyes gradually darkening.

“He Yang,” he said abruptly.

He Yang turned around.

Jiang Siye asked, “When you were wronged in the Jiang family, why didn’t you tell me?”

He Yang hugged the seahorse tightly. “There was no need.”

Jiang Siye pressed, “Why?”

He Yang, her face pale from excessive blood loss and lack of replenishment, replied, “It’s just a small fish in a big pond.”

Jiang Siye’s tone hardened. “Explain clearly.”

“In the first month of our relationship, your friends secretly bet that I would come whenever called,” He Yang said calmly. “They won. I went.”

Those friends had lied to her, saying Jiang Siye was drunk and asking her to bring hangover medicine.

He Yang went.

Faced with the barely concealed mockery and ridicule in everyone’s eyes, Jiang Siye, upon finding out, merely told them to stop fooling around.

He Yang continued, “At the wedding, they didn’t hold back. In front of my aunt and cousin, they used a drone to announce a bet that we would divorce within three years.”

Her aunt wept silently, heartbroken for her future.

“I wore the outrageously expensive wedding dress you had custom-made, dressed as the most beautiful version of myself in my entire life,” He Yang said. “To face the retribution for my overreaching.”

Jiang Siye’s temple throbbed violently as he warned, “He Yang!”

“What does your family’s attitude matter?” He Yang turned a deaf ear. “Didn’t you allow it?”

“…”

He Yang’s eyes were pitch black. “Otherwise, how do you think those increasingly outrageous things happened? At first, they were testing your attitude. When they realized you didn’t care, they escalated until even your family and relatives understood—I was someone everyone could bully.”

Jiang Siye’s chest heaved as he struggled to suppress his anger.

He Yang curved her lips. “Even the decision to give up resuscitation for my son didn’t require consulting me. When have you ever respected me?”

At this point, He Yang’s expression turned serious. “Husband, you might not believe it, but I truly loved you.”

Once upon a time.I love you so, so much.

The man’s face, which had been seething with rage, instantly softened. “Honey, come here…”

“He Yang,” Jiang Siye’s tone suddenly shifted, “since we’ve come this far—”

She took a deep breath, as if drawing strength from it.

“Let’s get a divorce.”
