【Dear readers, please hang in there until Chapter 3. Cough, this is absolutely a pampering story, absolutely sweet. If it’s not sweet, come find me. I accept suggestions, but absolutely no “oral punishment”~~~】

【Ding! Villainization value has been collected to 100%. Mission completed. Wishing the host a beautiful and happy future. Goodbye!】

Ji Chaoxi stood on the rooftop, looking at the figure being pinned to the ground and torn apart by several mutated beasts.Full novel: Night of the Doomed Apocalypse: The Obsessive Villain Won’t Let Her Die — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was she who had just pushed that person down.

Without time to think further, she immediately jumped off the roof. Using her wood-type ability, several finger-thick vines shot out from the ground and wrapped around the bodies of the mutated beasts.

The vines tightened. One beast tilted its head and stopped breathing.

One came—she killed one.

As if sensing the danger she posed, the mutated beasts rushing from afar stopped in their tracks, their crimson eyes fixed on her, waiting for an opening to strike.

Ji Chaoxi helped the man up and carried him on her back. Blood instantly soaked into her clothes.

Two years ago, a Villainization System bound itself to her, pulling her—who was on the verge of death—into this world. Her mission was to abuse and torture the villain, to push him into villainization, and to make him destroy the world.

Then, the Child of the World would be born to save it.

In the original timeline, when the villain was almost bitten to death by the Mutant Beast Horde, he awakened his powers. He slaughtered all the mutated beasts in the area, then found Ji Chaoxi, who had been tormenting him.

He threw her into the Mutant Beast Horde, watching as she was torn apart until only a breath remained. Then he saved her, waited for her to heal, and threw her in again…

Until she could no longer endure the torture and stabbed herself through the heart with the very ability she had once been proud of.

Damn dog system. And this was what it called a “beautiful and happy future”?

Where was the beauty? Where was the happiness?

Ji Chaoxi dragged the man into the safe zone’s sonic interference range, randomly found a dilapidated empty house, and laid him down, tearing open his clothes.

His flesh was a mangled mess, white bones faintly visible.

Only the weakest trace of breathing remained in his chest.

Ji Chaoxi frowned deeply at the sight and fully unleashed her wood-type healing ability. A dense life force enveloped his wounds.

“Ye Jiming, hang in there.”

Visibly, the flowing blood began to coagulate, and torn flesh slowly started to heal.

Her ability was overexerted, and fine beads of sweat formed on Ji Chaoxi’s forehead. Her face turned deathly pale, and a wave of dizziness struck her. She collapsed uncontrollably onto Ye Jiming.

A muffled groan came from beneath her, and it jolted Ji Chaoxi’s muddled mind awake. She quickly pushed herself up.

Her wrist went weak, and her body fell back down again.

Ye Jiming let out another muffled groan.

“Sorry.” Ji Chaoxi hurriedly apologized and forced herself up again. This time, prepared, she rose slowly, endured the dizziness, and sat down on the floor.

After a long while, she finally had the strength to look at the person beside her.

She met a pair of cold, dark eyes without warning.

Ji Chaoxi’s breathing suddenly stopped.

The surrounding air felt as if it had frozen.

After a long silence, she blinked and broke it first.

“Um… are you hungry? I’ll go get you something to eat.”

Saying this, she slowly stood up. Her vision darkened in waves, and her body felt weak, moving sluggishly as she shuffled outward.

Ye Jiming watched her leave with a cold gaze, a trace of suspicion flashing in his eyes.

Thud!

The sound of something heavy falling came from outside.

Ye Jiming frowned and immediately sat up. He glanced at the mostly healed injuries on his body, his doubts deepening.

He walked to the doorway and indeed saw the woman collapsed on the ground, unconscious.

He crouched down in front of her, staring at her pale, paper-white face. His eyes darkened.

“Ji Chaoxi, what kind of trick are you playing this time?”

His cold fingers mercilessly pinched her chin, and a sinister, wicked smile appeared on his lips.

“Fine. I’ll play along with you.”

…

Her consciousness slowly returned.

Ji Chaoxi opened her eyes and found herself lying in a familiar room, covered with a blanket.

She checked her ability recovery—about sixty percent.

The door was pushed open from outside.

Ji Chaoxi turned her head.

Ye Jiming, for some reason, was wearing a dull gray old-fashioned outfit. Even so, with his broad shoulders and narrow waist and tall posture, he still carried an unmistakable presence.

Seeing that she had awakened, his gaze flickered almost imperceptibly. He lowered his head timidly and handed her a gray, plain piece of bread.

“I’m sorry. I went to work late today, so I could only exchange for this.”

Ji Chaoxi got off the bed.

“I’m not hungry. You eat it.”

Her ability had mostly recovered, and her strength was returning. She could find food herself.

Previously, to farm villainization value, she had deliberately sent Ye Jiming—who had no awakened abilities—to gather supplies. Later, after the base was built, she made him work in the base factory to exchange for resources.

No matter what he brought back, she would use it as an excuse to humiliate, scold, and beat him.

Not once missed.

Thinking of this, Ji Chaoxi coughed awkwardly. “From now on, you don’t need to work at the factory anymore. I can get food myself.”

It was both goodwill and compensation.

Even though those actions were not what she truly wanted, they had indeed been done by her hands.

She only hoped the future villain lord would give her a quick death.

After speaking, she walked past Ye Jiming toward the door.

Her wrist tightened. Ji Chaoxi turned back.

Ye Jiming’s dark eyes were filled with fear. “Y-you… are you abandoning me?”

Ji Chaoxi paused slightly, then suddenly remembered that Ye Jiming had no abilities and no identity to remain inside the safe base. He could only live on the outer edge, where even clean water was hard to obtain.

The only reason he could stand here now was because she had taken him in.

Of course, her “taking him in” was for the sake of tormenting him. She even deliberately let others trouble him.

Thinking of this, Ji Chaoxi’s expression softened. “I’m not abandoning you. Don’t worry. You can stay at home from now on. Until you awaken your ability, I’ll support you.”

Ye Jiming almost failed to keep his expression steady.

Ji Chaoxi’s gentleness belonged to anyone—but never to him.

Whenever she looked at him, it was always with contempt and ridicule, as if he were something disgusting.

Ji Chaoxi noticed his difficulty accepting it and said nothing more. She gently patted the arm holding her wrist, then pulled away and left.

Ye Jiming watched her slender back. The timid expression on his face instantly turned dark.

His pupils flickered. He quickly followed, grabbing her wrist again, panic and helplessness on his face.

“I couldn’t exchange for food you like. I’m useless. Please punish me, Master.”

Master?

Heh.

Ji Chaoxi, I’ll play your game. Don’t disappoint me.

Ye Jiming lowered his head, hiding the cold killing intent in his eyes, and knelt down on one knee.

Ji Chaoxi hurriedly grabbed his arm and pulled him up. “Get up quickly. There’s no punishment. You’re not useless either.”

Looking at his obsidian-like eyes, Ji Chaoxi said seriously, “Ye Jiming, you’re very good.”

After a brief silence, she bit her lip and added solemnly, “Ye Jiming… I’m sorry.”

His dark pupils suddenly contracted, and the force holding her wrist tightened uncontrollably.

Ye Jiming saw the guilt in her eyes, and a cold laugh rose in his heart.

Ji Chaoxi, you really have been reborn.

You think a light “I’m sorry” can erase everything you did to me?

Dream on.
