The trending topic this time had nothing to do with Yu Xile. Huang Da didn’t step in and Xie Tiancheng, who usually paid absolutely no attention to the entertainment industry, only learned about the whole mess when it was already almost noon.

At Chunshui Creek Resort’s side building, the door to the suite stood wide open. Several people were gathered quietly in the hallway, eyes lowered respectfully, their expressions composed yet every single one of them had their ears perked up like antennae, clearly straining to catch any sound inside.

Xie Wangyuan was leaning lazily against the headboard. The quilt was a chaotic mess draped over his thighs and he was wearing nothing but a pair of underwear. Half-squinting at the time, he clicked his tongue. “Tch. Barely noon.”Full novel: No! I’m an Alpha! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Lighting up a cigarette, he took a long drag. The pounding headache left from staying up all night slowly eased and he muttered discontentedly, “Dad, I’ve been up all night. Can’t you just let me sleep a little longer?”

Hearing him dare bring up last night, Xie Tiancheng trembled from sheer anger. “Sleep? Sleep?! You have no idea what you did last night?!”

“I do know.” Realizing he wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep with this setup, Xie Wangyuan regretfully pushed his hair back. “I mean, what was it… several? I just fooled around a little with a few Betas. It’s not like anything serious happened.”

Xie Tiancheng paused to steady his breath but rage still surged straight to his temples. “You, right now, immediately, are going home!”

Finishing half his cigarette, Xie Wangyuan was fully awake. In a great mood now, he cheerfully said, “Sure, fine. Sit down a bit. Let me take a shower.”

The tall Alpha’s voice was low and hoarse, rich with the satisfaction of someone who had indulged far too much. He even dragged out the words deliberately.

His morning physiological reaction was embarrassingly obvious but he showed not a single shred of awareness as he got out of bed and casually walked right past Xie Tiancheng.

No matter how he heard it, Xie Tiancheng felt every word sounded indecent. He was so angry his legs nearly gave out. He almost sat on the edge of the bed but immediately remembered that who knows how many Betas had rolled around on it last night. He straightened instantly and marched out of the bedroom.

Butler Wang was standing outside. As Xie Wangyuan passed him, he even had the nerve to greet him lazily. “Morning, Uncle Wang.”

Butler Wang: “……”

Xie Tiancheng glanced at the wide-open door and roared again, “Clear everyone out!”

Xie Wangyuan didn’t care at all if people heard. He drawled, “They’ve already seen what they should see. What’s there to be afraid of them hearing?”

He took his time in the shower, even leisurely shaved. While shaving, he slouched against the bathroom doorframe bonelessly and called out, “Dad, I’m out of clothes. Tell the club to send a set up.”

Xie Tiancheng felt his temples twitch violently again.

“No clothes are fine too… ” Xie Wangyuan said, lowering his gaze to look himself over from top to bottom. “I don’t think my body is shameful. What do you think, Dad?”

Remembering the video from last night, Xie Tiancheng felt this shameless brat was indeed perfectly capable of doing something that outrageous.

The whole scandal had already blown up everywhere. If he walked out of the club wearing nothing but underwear and made the news again… Xie Tiancheng had to steady himself several more breaths before ordering, “Bring him clothes.”

“Uncle Wang, get something I like… ” Xie Wangyuan added, still picky. “Something colorful. Don’t bring white, black or grey. Preferably something floral…”

“I said bring him black!” Xie Tiancheng snapped, unable to tolerate it any longer.

Xie Wangyuan muttered under his breath, “Tch, anyone who didn’t know better would think I’m going to someone’s funeral…”

“I’m not dead!” Xie Tiancheng said icily.

The Xie family car was waiting at the back entrance of the club. Wearing head to toe black casual clothes, Xie Wangyuan smirked. “This setup… feels familiar…..”

“You think I wanted this?!” Xie Tiancheng slammed his phone screen in front of him, the interface frozen on an entertainment gossip page. He jabbed a finger at it. “Do you have any idea how famous you are right now?!”

Wangyuan glanced casually and praised, “Not a bad shot. Honestly, I look pretty good on camera.”

“……”

He got into the back seat with him. Because of his long legs, he couldn’t find a comfortable position no matter how he sat. Annoyed, he complained, “Dad, can’t you have them bring a more spacious car?”

Xie Tiancheng’s temples throbbed again. “Why don’t I just slap ‘Xie Family Here to Pick Up Their Troublesome Son’ on the door while I’m at it?!”

“Not impossible…” Wangyuan yawned, languid. “The story’s already everywhere anyway. What’s the point of hiding?”

“You think this is about you?” Xie Tiancheng had weathered plenty of storms in his earlier years and had calmed down by now. “This is for the Xie family. For Lele.”

Wangyuan let out a cold, mocking breath and leaned against the car door.

Xie Tiancheng pressed down his anger again. “What’s so good about Betas? They don’t even have pheromones. They do nothing for you.”

Wangyuan didn’t even bother opening his eyes.

“If you truly like Betas, fine but stop picking those trashy, low-class ones who can’t step onto a stage. If you really must, keep two discreetly outside, no one will know.” He spoke as if he were being understanding.

“Last night’s incident is being suppressed. When the heat dies down, Lele can come to the house again.”

Wangyuan finally opened his eyes, voice cold. “Dad, don’t use that tone with me. You keep this up and I really will think you’re on your deathbed, trying to act out some father and son reconciliation scene.”

Before Xie Tiancheng could explode, he curled his lips. “You know what I’m like. I just came back to the country and already ended up in bed with a bunch of low grade, no name, bottom of the barrel Betas. Who doesn’t know by now? You’re the one who likes Yu Xile so much. Being with an Alpha like me, what do you think people will say about him? Gold digger? Boot licker? Selling himself for money and power?”

“Xie Wangyuan!”

“What? Too harsh?” Wangyuan’s tone sharpened, voice dripping mockery. “I can say worse. Dad, want to hear it?”

He straightened, eyes fixed on Xie Tiancheng and said with vicious clarity, “You probably don’t know, right? Betas are way tougher than Omegas in bed. Aren’t you afraid I’ll play too hard and end up injuring that precious little treasure of yours?”

A sharp, ringing slap echoed through the car, followed by Xie Tiancheng’s ragged, furious breathing.

In the front seats, the butler and the driver sat stiff and silent, staring dead ahead as if they were corpses, terrified that the clash between the two Alphas in the back might explode and drag them into it.

Xie Tiancheng hadn’t held back, he had used his full strength. Xie Wangyuan’s head was knocked to the side by the impact. He pushed the tip of his tongue against the cheek that had gone slightly numb, then lazily licked at the small smear of blood at the corner of his lips.

He even had the audacity to laugh. “Dad, you hit me so hard, what did you eat this morning?”

The butler and driver: “……”

“If your mother were still alive, you wouldn’t have grown into this… this spoiled, lawless creature. Do you think you deserve the way we treated you? Do you think you deserve her?”

Wangyuan let out a cold short laugh. “Spoiled?”

Xie Tiancheng’s mouth opened wide, his eyes bloodshot, staring at him as if he were looking at a stranger. “If it weren’t for her, do you think I would’ve indulged you in everything since you were little? If it weren’t for Lele having feelings for you, do you think I would’ve allowed you to run around abroad for so many years? If I had known back then that she was carrying something like you, I would rather have…”

Wangyuan snorted, amused and deliberately fanned the flames. “And whose fault is that? You should blame yourself for not holding back. It’s not like she could give birth to me on her own.”

In all his decades of life, Xie Tiancheng had never been pushed to this level of rage. He lifted his hand again but in the end, staring at Wangyuan, who looked nothing like the gentle, soft-featured woman in his memories, he forced it down.

Teeth clenched, he said, “I’ve already frozen all your cards. You’re staying home for the next few days. Don’t you dare step out.”

The familiar wrought-iron gates stood before him. The garden beyond was completely dark with no lights on, just as black and empty as it had been when Wangyuan was a child.

The villa was vast and hollow. At night it turned into a pitch-black cavern and the only sounds he could hear were his own footsteps, echoing back at him, bouncing in his ears like he was talking to himself.

Tasting the metallic tang of blood in his mouth, Xie Wangyuan suddenly felt a wave of boredom sweep over him. Before the car even stopped fully, he opened the door and got out.

Still sitting inside, Xie Tiancheng said coldly, “Your older brother was on a business trip. Now he has to rush back early just to clean up the mess you made. Think, Xie Wangyuan. Think about what you’re doing.”

Wangyuan entered the house with the slap mark still burning on his cheek. He went straight to the dining room, pulled two bottles of mineral water from the refrigerator and headed upstairs without a word.

In another suite furnished in almost the same layout, Ren Yi slept straight into the afternoon and was finally yanked awake by his sister, Ren Ke, who had come all the way from the company.

“Ah! jiejie! Ow! ow! ow!” Ren Yi was dragged halfway out of the covers, his bare upper body exposed and immediately scrambled to pull the blanket back up. “What are you doing, sis?!”

“What’s there to hide?” Wearing a sharp, perfectly fitted business suit, Ren Ke let out a disdainful snort. She sat down in a chair beside the bed and tossed her phone onto the sheets.

Crossing her legs elegantly, she asked, “You were there last night too?”

Ren Yi, clueless, picked up the phone and began scrolling. As he watched the clip, his expression lit up. “Hey, the editing is pretty damn good and who wrote this caption? It’s absurdly fitting, it’s so damn perfect…”

When he finished the video, he was still laughing, until he lifted his eyes and met Ren Ke’s icy, expressionless stare. His smile froze instantly.

Before she could stand and start dragging him again, Ren Yi hurriedly blurted out, “The party is real! The trending topic is fake!”

Ren Ke raised an eyebrow. “Go on. Explain.”

Realizing he had slipped up, Ren Yi clamped his mouth shut and shook his head with the determination of a clam refusing to open.

“You didn’t show up at the company today and you were nowhere to be found at the hotel either. Dad asked about you. I covered for you.” Ren Ke took her phone back and deliberately pretended to make a call. “Tell me, if Dad finds out what you were doing last night…”

“Hey, jie! Jiejiejie!” Ren Yi cried, his face twisted in misery. “You’re blackmailing me! I can’t betray Yuan ge!”

“Betray? What betrayal?” Ren Ke rolled her eyes. “What are you, in some undercover spy thriller? I just want to hear some gossip after work. I’m not going to tell anyone. What are you so scared of?”

Ren Yi hesitated. “Really?”

Ren Ke lifted her phone again. “Dad should be free right about now…”

“I’ll talk! I’ll talk!” Ren Yi panicked, abandoning his embarrassment and practically lunged across the bed to snatch her phone away. “But you have to swear first!”

Ren Ke barely suppressed the urge to roll her eyes again. She lifted her right hand perfunctorily. “Fine. Sworn. Speak.”

Ren Yi looked like he wanted to complain but didn’t dare. “……”

After listening to everything, Ren Ke finally couldn’t stop herself and rolled her eyes again. “So that’s it? A rebellious kid facing an arranged marriage at home, running away and now continuing to go against the family? And you, how did you end up running away with him without even knowing what was going on?”
