Moonlight shines into into Niether and Rocky's cave. The human pokes at a purple and blue campfire with a stick, while he leans onto the side of Niether. As the dragon lays against the ground, gnawing on a large whale bone.
Rocky stares as a pair of fish cooking over the fire. Then he hears a loud crunch, and he looks off to the side. Niether lets out a rumble as he crushed the large bone in half.
Niether then picks up one of the halves and continues to gnaw at it. Rocky rolls his eye, and adjusts his leaf eyepatch. He then glances down to his side, looking at the iron sword on the ground.
He picks it up and looks over the runes on one side.
ᛟᛞᛁᚾ×ᛊ ᛞᛖᛊᛟᛚᚨᛏᛟᚾ
"Odin's Desolation..." Rocky mutters as he rubs a hand over the engraving, then looks at the ornamental engravings.
"Hmm" Niether crunches the bone in splinters and chomps away at it.
"I can read Nordic Runes..." Rocky mutters as he flips the sword around, and sees another rune engraving.
ᛏᚺᛟᚱ×ᛊ ᚠᚢᚱᛁ
"Thor's Fury." Rocky says as Niehter shifts and looks over Rocky's shoulder.
Niether chews a few times, before swallowing. Then he tilts his head as his teal eye looks over the runes and ornamental engravings.
"Interesting, I can read it too." Niether tilts his head to the other side.
Rocky then grabs the stick he was using to stock the fire. Then he starts writing on a small dirt patch next to him.
ᚱᛟᚲᚲᛁ ᚨᚾᛞ ᚾᛁᛖᚦᛖᚱ
Rocky hums in questions as he raises an eyebrow. "I tried to write in English."
"But it came out in Runes. Strange I must say, and disappointing."
"Yeah, now we can't write in a language no one can read!" Rocky lets out a disappointing sigh as he tosses his stick to the side.
Niether lays back down and continues to gnaw on the second half of the whale bone. Rocky lets out a groan and leans back on his dragon. He looks up to the ceiling, watching blue and purple light from the fire, dance across the ceiling.
"Say..."
Niether glances over, the slobbery bone poking out of his mouth. "Yes?"
"I had a thought."
"Wow, that's a first." Niether gets whapped in ear by a stick.
"You're insulting yourself, you know."
"Wouldn't be the first time." Niether goes back to gnawing on the bone.
Rocky rolls his eye. "How would we explain the nearly matching scars we have?"
Niether stops gnawing and thinks for a moment, as Rocky taps his chin. Then they both light up.
"We had an epic fight!/We had an epic fight!"
The two laugh as Rocky sits up, as he thrusts his sword into the air. "We got into a heated battle, that left both of us exhausted and wounded! Then we both got knocked out, and when we came to-"
"-we we're to exhausted to continue fighting. So we just tolerated each other for days on end. Then after that we came to a agreement after a while, and helped each other survive."
"Then we bonded and that's what lead us to here!" Rocky lets out a triumphant laugh. "Ah, we're so smart."
Niether nods in agreement. "Yes we are."
Rocky chuckles as he sets his sword down, and notices the fish are burning. He panics and quickly grabs them, and lets out a sigh. He puts one in front of Niether, who quickly eats it.
Rocky then slowly starts to eat his. Then he glances at Niehter.
"Say, I think we should meet some of the dragons around the island."
Niether coughs up a fish head, and looks at Rocky like he's crazy. "You're crazy."
"You know, you're talking about yourself." Rocky munches on his fish.
"I wasn't denying that I was. But what you said is crazy."
"Why not?" Rocky turns to Niether. "If we're gonna live on this island, which is full of dragons mind you, we should get to know a lot of them."
Niether stares at the human for a moment, before letting out a throaty rumble. "I hate that you are right. But you should also learn how to use that sword, and put on a bit more muscle."
"'Cause I can't just rely on you./Can you can't just rely on me."
Rocky chuckles and nods. "Tomorrow morning, we'll start my training, before we go off to meet some of the dragons... I just hope I don't get eaten."
"If you do, I promise to live on for you." Niether dramatically puts a hand on his chest. "And forget you in a few hours."
"Sooooo reassuring, you dumb reptile." Rocky says sarcastically.
Niether gives a smirky grin. "Any time pal."
Rocky then continues eating, before he quickly finishes. He sets down the empty stick, and lays down on his side.
"But it does suck that we have no gear..."
"Which means it would be hard to collect things, and store them. And whicker baskets can only hold so much weight."
"I think I saw some coconuts on the beach a little while ago."
"Are you saying coconuts migrate?"
Rocky lets out a soft chuckle, before he yawns, which is followed by Niether yawning loudly. Rocky then puts his arm under his head, and uses it at a pillow. Niether then extends a wing and covers Rocky for protection.
Rocky blinks a few times as the fire slowly dies out, before he falls asleep.
Morning soon arrives and Rocky is swinging his sword in the air, yelling a few times. He then swings to the side with all his strength, but that causes him to tumble.
"Wah!" Rocky falls face first on the ground, dropping his sword.
off to the side, Niether lets out a throaty chuckle, making the human to glare at him. Rocky then gets back up as he grabs his sword. He then gets into a combat stance, which looks very slopy.
"You look really dumb." Niether calls out as he shifts his wings a few times.
"I don't see you trying!" Rocky yells at the dragon.
Niether holds up his paws and grabs the air a few times. "Can't exactly hold a sword, dumb dumb."
Rocky lets out an annoyed sound as he swings his sword in the air a few times. Suddenly they hear the thumping of large footsteps approaching. Rocky quickly points his sword in the direction of the footsteps. While Niether lunges over to him, getting into a battle stance as its pupils goes slit.
They grow tense as the footsteps grow louder and louder, until suddenly an orange and black Deadly Nadder shoots out from the trees. It lets out a few squawks as it spots the two.
"Snips/Snips?" The two questions, as Rocky lowers his sword and Niether calms down.
Snips lets out a happy sound. "Hello!"
Rocky sheathes his sword as he walks up to the Nadder, with Niether right behind him.
"Whatca doing here, girl?" Rocky asks as he holds his hand out to the Nadder, and she leans forward allowing him to scratch her neck.
"Oh, Oh!" Snips shakes with excitement. "I came to tell you guys, that weird stuff made my wound better!"
Snips shows off her wing, and the gash she had is no longer inflamed, and already healing. Rocky laughs, after his dragon translated for him. And Niether hops in excitement.
"That's great, Snips. Glad you're starting to feel better."
Snips then perks up. "Oh, I also wanted you two to meet my brother!"
"Brother?/Brother?"
Suddenly a familiar pink Nadder flies down from the sky, and lands next to Snips. Rocky panics a little and hops behind Niether, with him growling.
"Oh, it's you two." The Pink Nadder growls at them.
"You two met Spine?" Snips questions.
"Let's just say, he was uh, very welcoming with those spines on his tail." Rocky calls out.
"Spine!" Snips barks at her brother.
"What, it was a human on the island, I was protecting everyone! How was I supposed to know anything?!"
"He does have a point." Niether points out as he translates for Rocky.
Spine steps forward and stares at Rocky. "Snips has informed me about your.... condition.... So I guess I will apologies first, you must understand I'm not very fond of Vikings after what they've done to my sister."
Snips hops forward. "But we know your not a bad human!" She gives a toothy smile.
Spines shakes his head. "I will tolerate you human, but if you hurt anyone here, I will stick one of my spines in your chest."
Rocky nods as he crosses his arms. "I promise not to hurt anyone here."
"Yeah, I'll keep an eye on my human." Niether pats Rocky on the back, nearly causing him to fall over.
"Your human?" Rocky turns to Niether.
"What else am I supposed to call you, my pet?"
Rocky rolls his eyes, and Snips hops forward.
"What were you doing when I showed up?" Snips looks over Rocky, and sniffs at his sword.
Rocky glances at Niether and he quickly translates. "Well, I'm training to become stronger, can't always rely on Niether here to protect me."
"Why?" Snips tilts his head.
"He wants to go meet the dragons of the island, because we might be here a while. So I guess it would be nice to meet some of the neighbors."
"Ohhhh!" Snips hops from foot to foot, while her bother shakes his head. "Let us help! Let us help!"
"I didn't agree to this." Spine calls out.
"I mean, some locals could help keep some peace." Rocky nods and gives Snips a thumbs up.
"Oh, oh! Let's take him to Grandma Drips!" Snipes looks to Spine.
"Are we brining the Briskwind?" Spine questions.
"Is that a bad thing?" Niether looks down at the two, with him being slightly taller then them.
Spine steps past Snips and moves right up to him. "Have you seen yourself, you are a large and new dragon. A Briskwind hasn't been seen in generations, your kind is supposed to be gone."
Niether raises an eyebrow and looks down at Rocky, who just shrugs. Niether then lowers himself down, and Rocky hops on, before he stands back up.
"Well, I have to go where the human goes. No exceptions." Niether lets out a throaty rumble.
"Yay!" Snips barks as she moves between Spine and Niether. "This'll be fun!" She then takes off running into the woods. "Follow me!"
Niether and Rocky look to Spine. "Is she always like this./Is she always like this?"
Spine lets out a sigh as he takes to the sky. "Sadly..."
Spine flies after his sister, and Niether gives a heavy flap and he takes off to the sky at high speeds. Rocky yells in panic as he grips tightly onto Niether's scales. The Briskwind Boltren catches up to the Pink Deadly Nadder with ease.
They fly side by side as they watch Snips run bellow. Spine then looks to Niether.
"So, what did the human give to Snips to make her wound better?" Spine calls out and Niether translates for Rocky.
"Well, it was a simple mix of garlic and lavender." Rocky calls out. "I should really thank my mother, she was a crazy Botanist."
"A boat-an-itch?" Spine questions as he tilts his head.
"A Botanist, it's a human that studies plants." Niether informs with a chirp. "His mother was crazy about it, and pretty good at it too. She forced Rocky here to listen to her ramblings."
"And I guess some of her ramblings have become helpful..." Ricky crosses his arms.
Spine stares at the human for a moment. "Are all humans weird?"
"Unfortunately." Niether sighs and gets slapped in the head by Rocky.
"We are here, watch your step purple one, and weird human." Spine calls out.
The two dip down below, down towards a large columnar basalt structure. Dozens of Gronckles lie about the area, in warm pools, sunny dry spots, or chomping down on some of the basalt.
But at the far end of the structure, a massive Gronckle lays. She has dark, volcanic coloration featuring a black body with irregular, glowing red or yellow stripes. The mouth and nose glow due to the intense lava within them, and she lacks visible pupils She is more heavily armored and spiked than her other counterparts, with substantially larger wings than normal.
"That must be Grandma Drips." Rocky motions to the large Gronckle.
They hear a commotion below, and they see Snips running about the Gronckles. They all yell at her as she nearly steps on them. Then she skids to a stop right in front of Grandma Drip, who turns to her.
"Snips my dear, what brings you here." Grandma Drips' grovely voice calls out.
"OH, oh! I brought some new friends!" Snips hops side to side.
"New friends? Where are they dear."
Niether lands next to Snips with a soft thump, as Spine lands next to Snips. Grandma Drips eyes widen at the sight of Niether.
"Oh my, a Briskwind Boltren, I haven't seen your kind in a many of seasons."
"Just how old is she?" Rocky questions as Niether translates.
"Very old." Spine informs.
"I heard when she was young, this island was nothing but a tiny volcano." Snips informs.
Grandma Drips steps forward, a little shaky, as she walks up to Niether. With him still being much large then her.
"My my, aren't you a large one." Grandma Drips looks him over. "You're much much bigger then the last one I saw. Are there other of your kind still around?
"Well, we've never meet another of my kind, so we have no idea." Niether informs as he sits on his hunches.
"We? And why do you keep repeating what I say?"
Niether lays down, revealing Rocky on his back. Grandma Drips eyes widen again as she steps up to Niether's side, looking over the human.
"A Human, all the way out here?" Grandma Drips questions.
"And not only that, I can speak with him."
"You can?!"
"Yeah, he can." Rocky says with a smile as he slides off Niether's back. "Um, Hello Grandma Drips, I'm Rocky. We just moved up in the cliff at the top of the mountain."
Rocky points up to the mountain in the distance.
"Ah, that place. A dear old fiend of mine used to live there, sadly he passed a long while ago." Grandma Drips sits down. "But what are you doing here, human named Rocky?"
"Oh, you know, meeting the locals." Rocky shrugs, and crosses his arms. "We might be living her for a while, so I just wanted to meet my neighbors."
"Well, nice to meet you Rocky, as a greeting gift..."
Grandma Drips spits out a small lump of lava, and it quickly cool and hardens. She then nudges it towards Rocky. He raises an eyebrow and glances at Niether, who just shrugs.
Rocky bends down and picks up the lump of metal, which is rather light. He smiles and shoves it in his satchel. He then bows to Grandma Drips.
"Thank you, Grandma Drips."
Grandma Drips smiles as she steps back to her resting spot. "While you're here, there's another friend of mine you can meet." She motions off to the side.
Niether and Rocky step to the edge of the formation and spot a large dragon floating in the water below. A blue Thunderdrum, he has his eyes closed as he moves up and down with the waves.
"Oi, Wavebite!" Grandma Drips calls out, but the doesn't move. "Wavebite!" She yells loudly, making Rocky cover his ears.
The Thunderdrum opens his eyes and looks up. "What?!"
"We have some new neighbors that want to say hi!"
"...What?!"
Grandma Drips moves to the edge of her resting spot. "I said, 'we have some new neighbors!'"
The Thunderdrum stares up at her. "...what about high boats?"
Grandma Drips sighs as she shakes her head, and turns to the youngins. "His hearing isn't what is used to be."
Spine leans to Niether. "He could never hear in the first place, Thunderdrums are basically deaf."
Grandma Drips turns to Niether and Rocky. "Well, as long as you two don't cause trouble, you can stay here. This is a mostly peaceful island, where dragons come to have peace."
Niether and Rocky bow to the Titan Wing Gronckle. "Thank you./Thank you."
Grandma Drips then lays down and yawns. "Now please, its nap time."
Snips hops up and down. "Oh, lets go meet Grovel!" She takes off running. "See you later, Grandma Drips!"
"Ugh, please not Grovel." Spine whines as he takes off to the sky.
Rocky climbs up Niether's back and the dragon takes off after the Nadder siblings. Niether flies beside Spine as they follow after Snips.
"So, is this Grovel unpleasant?" Rocky looks to Spine, as the human grips onto the purple dragons scales.
"Yes, very much so." Spine grumbles as he grinds his teeth. "He hates anyone who isn't himself, especially those that mess with his tunnels or make loud noises."
They watch as Snips stops at the edge of a beach, next to a large round cave. The two dive down and land beside the female Nadder. She shifts from foot-to-foot.
"Grovel! Grovel, are you awake!" Snips shouts into the cave.
Suddenly a pair of spines fly out from the cave, making Snips and Spine jump back. While Niether lifts up a wing to block Rocky, as the spines ricochet off his wing.
Rocky lays down flat on Niether's back as the dragon lowers his wing and growls. Suddenly a Whispering Death shoots out of the cave and growls at them.
"You're too loud!" Grovel roars in anger as his teeth rotate.
"Hi, grovel!" Snips hops up to the Whispering Death.
"Snips!" Grovel growls in anger. "Are you here to annoy me again, I'll have you know, I won't hesitate to chase you across the island again!"
Rocky whispers to Niether. "I think this is the same Whispering Death that we angered yesterday."
"It indeed is..." Niether lets out a sigh.
Snips lets out a squawk. "Nope, not today. We're just showing around our new neighbors."
"Who?!" Grovel grumbles as he narrows his cloudy eyes.
"Them sadly." Spine motions to Niether and Rocky behind them.
Grovel looks over, and roars in anger. "You two!"
"Hello, Grovel... Uh... eheheh..." Rocky gives a nervous wave.
Grovel stares at the human, before looking to Snips. "How does he know my name?"
"He can understand Niether, the Briskwind." Snips informs.
Grovel looks between Rocky and Niether, as both wave at them. Then he just turns around and heads back into his tunnel.
"Uh, where are you going?" Spine calls out in confusion.
"I'm too tired for this!" Grovel shouts as he disappears in the darkness.
The three dragons and the human stare into the cave. Then Spine speaks up.
"Wow... that was rather unviolent... of him..."
"Is he, you know, always angry?" Rocky asks Spine.
"You have no idea... He's angrier then an Monstrous Nightmare."
Suddenly a loud grumble echoes amongst the ground, and everyone looks to the largest dragon. He looks confused as his brows furrow.
"It wasn't me."
Everyone then looks to the human. He looks between the dragons and he throws his arms up.
"Sorry that I get hungry!"
Niether lets out a guttural chuckle.
A little bit later, Rocky sits in front of a campfire on the beach as he cooks a fish over it. Another fish on a stick is cooking beside the fire. A little to the side, Niether, Spine and Snips are eating away at a large pile of fish.
Rocky looks up to the sun directly above him.
'What a strange few days I must say.' Rocky says in thought. 'But not gonna lie, been the most interesting three days of the past 24 years.'
Rocky looks down at the fire, as he spins his fish. But then suddenly the second fish on a stick starts to float in the air. Rocky slowly turns to is and watches as it floats up and above him.
"Um... Niether.... I'm not the only one seeing this, right?" Rocky removes his eyepatch, and his split vision returns.
Niether perks up without turning to Rocky. "A floating fish?"
Rocky lowers the eyepatch as the three dragons look over, and see the fish above the human's head. Snips' jaw drops and a fish falls from her teeth. Suddenly a large green dragon appears out of thin air above him, using its tail to hold the fish on the stick.
Rocky panics as he dives to the side, and the dragon chuckles.
"Leafwisp?" Snips tilts her head.
"What's a Changewing doing on the island?!" Spine flicks his tail to the side, as its spines shoot up.
"I must say, I've never meet a human before." The Changewing eats the roasted fish in one bite.
Snips hops up to Leafwisp. "Hey, Leafwisp, whatcha doing here?"
"Snips, you know this dragon?" Spine questions.
Rocky gets up to his feet, wiping some sand off his shirt. "I uh, I'm guess he isn't dangerous."
"Changewings are a very dangerous dragon." Spine growls at the Changewing.
"Scared of me, boy?" The Changewing lets out a throaty chuckle.
"He doesn't look very threatening." Niether points out as he swallows a large carp.
Leafwisp spits some acid on a nearby tree. The acid quickly eats away at the tree, causing it to fall over. Rocky walks over to the side of Niether, as they both blink in shock.
"It's got acid breath." Rocky whispers to Niether.
"Not gonna lie, that's pretty cool." Niether whispers back.
"So, whatca doing here, Leafwisp?" Snips asks in a happy tone.
Leafwisp smiles as he shifts. "Well, I wanted to finally meet the resident human and supposedly extinct dragon. I've been watching them for a few days."
"Kinda creepy/Kinda creepy." Rocky and Niether say together.
"Wait, wait wait." Spin gets between Snips and Leafwisp. "What is a Changewing doing here, of all places?" He growls at the dragon.
"Well, I was on my way back to the island where the rest of my family is, but I wanted to spot for a day. But as I was exploring the island, I happened upon a certain human and purple dragon." Leafwisp looks over to said two. "So I extended my stay."
Spine stares at the Changewing, who stares back, before disappearing from site. Spine looks around, only to jump back with a bark as Leafwips appears right beside him.
"Uh, I hate you Changewings." Spine complains.
Leafwisp grows a hurt look as he dramatically falls over. "Oh, you wound me, Nadder! Oh, my cold dark heart, it'll never recover!"
"Spine, can you be nicer?" Snips questions as she tilts her head.
"Yeah, listen to your sister, Spine~" Leafwips says in a smug tone.
"Ugh, I think my appetites ruined." Spine walks into the forest.
Leafwisp sticks his tongue out at the Nadder, before turning to Snips.
"Well, my dear friend, I'll let you all get back to your tour. I'm gonna get some food of my own." Leafwisp then suddenly disappears.
"Oh, Bye Leafwisp!" Snips calls out.
Rocky and Niether walk up to Snips.
"Are all Changewing's that... eccentric?" Niether questions with a head tilt.
Snips shrugs with her wings. "Kinda, but they're usually not as... nice? as him. But they are also found in packs, so it was strange just to see Leafwisp by himself."
Rocky grunts as he climbs up Neither's back, by going up his tail. Then he plops down at the base of his neck. He then rubs his tights.
"Seesh, I hope to get you a saddle one day." Rocky complains as he pats Niether on the neck.
"...I'd feel pretty weird with one."
"What's a saddle?" Snips questions.
Niether takes off walking into the forest. "Well, it's a thing that I'd wear on my back, so the human can ride on me better... I should've worded that different."
"Ohhh... I do not understand... at all." Snips follows after them.
"So, who's next Snips?" Rocky calls out to the female Nadder.
"There are so many we could visit today!" Snips cheers. "We could meet the rest of my Flock, there's Jumble the Hobblegrunt, Hack and Tack the Zippleback, There's Svin, Sven, Sten, Stin, Svrn the Terrible Terrors. Then we have Bach and Blech the Scauldrons. Then we have, Mulic, the Monstrous Nightmare."
Suddenly they come to a clearing and find a very large red and blue Monstrous Nightmare. Snips chirps as she steps forward towards the other dragon.
"Mulic-"
Mulic turns around and blast fire at her, and she roars in panic and manages to dodge to the side. He then breaths fire at her again, but Niether shoots forward and blocks the attack with his wings.
The flames slam against the Briskwind's wings, and harmlessly slide off. Niether lowers his wings and roars at the Monstrous Nightmare.
"Rather rude, huh." Niether keeps his wings up to block Rocky, who peers over them.
"Buzz of!" Mulic roars in anger as he turns to them, only to grunt in pain as he lowers his head.
Rocky slides off Niether's back, and slowly walks towards Mulic. The Monstrous Nightmare growls at him.
"Uh, should we stop him?" Snips questions Niether.
"Naw, he's fine. I know what he's doing." Niether lowers his wings.
Rocky holds his hands out to the large dragon. Mulic growls and roars at him, but then growls in pain as he shakes his head.
"Hey, buddy, why don't you tell me what's wrong." Rocky keeps low as he slowly walks towards Mulic. "You know, us humans are very versatile, you know, having possible thumbs and all."
"None of your business!" Mulic sets himself on fire as he snaps at Rocky, making him jump back and almost trip.
Rocky lets out a sigh as he holds his hands out. Snips then lets a chirp as she calls out.
"Come on, Mulic. He's very helpful, he's helping me fix up my wing!" Snips shows off her injured wing.
Mulic growls as she looks between Snips and Rocky. Then after a moment he unlits, and lowers himself to the ground.
"I have a... toothache...." Mulic mutters, and Niether calls out the translation.
Rocky slowly walks up to Mulic, and brings his hands to his nose. Mulic growls as Rocky steps back.
"Okay. okay." Rocky nods as he claps his hands together. "So open up, and let's see what I can try to help with."
Mulic lets out a gurgle as he opens up his mouth wide. Rocky sees the large and sharp teeth. He then takes a deep breath and moves up.
"So uh... just don't close your mouth... please."
Rocky leans into Mulic's mouth and looks over his teeth. He then spots a tooth in the back with black spots at its base, with the gums inflamed all round it.
Rocky then leans out and looks to Mulic. "Well, you have a rotten tooth. Good news is, I can remove it, bad news it will most likely hurt. But I just need you to trust me, okay."
Mulic lets out a rumble, and Rocky puts a hand on his sword, which makes Mulic's eyes widen as he roars. Rocky quickly puts his hands up.
"Hey, hey, I'm gonna have to cut it out. I really don't think I can pull out your tooth."
Mulic stares at Rocky. "If you try anything, I'll rip you in half."
Rocky just nods. "Yeah, that's fair."
Rocky reaches into his satchel and pulls out some peppermint and turmeric. He then throws it towards Niether, who catches them in his mouth and starts chewing them, as he walks over.
Rocky lets out a sigh as he unsheaths his sword. He then leans over Mulic's mouth as he brings the sword to the tooth.
'This is dumb! This is dumb! This is so carping dumb!' Rocky yells in his head.
Rocky then starts to cut away at the base of the tooth, making Mulic grumble in pain, but he keeps his mouth wide open. Then after a few minutes, Rocky reaches in and pulls out the infected tooth and tosses it to the side.
Then he holds his hands out to Niehter, who spits the peppermint and turmeric mixture into his hand.
"So glad I found these foraging this morning..." Rocky applies the past to the missing tooth spot.
Then he quickly exits Mulic's mouth, and the dragon closes his mouth and moves it a few times. He blinks in surprise as he looks at the human.
"I'm starting to already feel better."
"I'm glad." Rocky smiles. "I saw that in a movie once, about a guy getting stranded on an island after a plane crash."
"...I have no idea what you said, but thank you human." Mulic lets out a rumble. "I will never forget this favor."
"Woah, he's like a human healer for dragons!" Snips chirps as she hops over.
Rocky laughs as he rubs the back of his head. "I'm no such thing, I just know some basic herd mixes."
"Which has so far, helped two dragons." Niether points out.
"I'm not becoming a dragon healer, that's way to much work and responsibility." Rocky shakes his head as he climbs back onto Niether's back. "But I won't say no to helping one if I can, but I'm not going out of my way to do it."
"Well, I thank you for the help, human." Mulic turns away and takes off into the sky.
Rocky watches the large monstrous nightmare fly off, before letting out a exhausted sigh and fall backwards on Niether.
"That was so scary." Rocky runs his hands down his face. "I think just as scary when I crashed my dads Dodge Charger."
"You have weird words." Snips leans over the human. "So, ready to meet another new friend?"
"Ugh, I think I'm too tired to. Way to much social interaction, honestly. And its only been dragons I've been talking to! Fire breathing dragons... that could easily kill me in a second."
Niether turns to Snips. "How about another day, Snips."
Snips hops side to side. "Alright, well you two have a good day then! I gotta find Spine! BYE!"
Snips runs off into the forest, leaving the dragon and human behind. Rocky looks up to the sky, watching the sun go on its downward arc. Niether opens up his wings, as Rocky sits up and grabs onto his black neck scales.
The dragon then takes off into the sky, flying at blinding speeds towards the sky. Rocky grunts as he leans onto Niether's back, as to not fall off. Then they level out and Rocky sits up.
The two fly high above Weyr island. The two fly in silence, as Niether's wing flaps are near completely silent. Rocky lets out a happy sigh, as does Niether.
"This is very nice."
"Could never find a view like this back in our world, at least not cheaply." Niether lets out a grumble.
Rocky looks down and sees a pack of Scauldrons floating on the surface below them. One of them looks up at the two, and lets out a roar, before going back to hunting fish.
"Hey, look at that." Niether calls out.
Rocky looks ahead, and narrows his eyes as he leans forward. He manages to spot another island off in the distance, then another a ways to the right.
"Hmm, a few new places to discover." Rocky smiles in excitement.
"Feels weird to actually want to be outside and exploring, but let's save that for tomorrow."
"Yeah, we've already had a lot of excitement for today."
The two continue circling high above the island, then after a while the sun is nearly under the horizon. The two land back at their cave, Niether walks in with Rocky still on his back.
They then stop in the middle of the cave, and Rocky lets out a groan of pain, and slides off the side of the massive dragon. He holds his hands over his crotch.
"Man, I really wish you had a saddle... ow..." Rocky rolls onto his side in pain, and Niether lets out a warbled laugh. "Oh, shut up!"
"Hey, I'm not the one that wanted to ride for several hours, barebacked...." Niether then smacks his lips as he shakes his head. "I should really think before I speak."
Rocky stands up and walks over to their burned out campfire. He adds a few logs, and a Power Shot into the logs, lighting them. Rocky sits down and rubs his thighs.
Neither then walks over and plops down behind Rocky. He lets out a long yawn, before shaking his head. Rocky grabs his satchel and reaches inside, and pulls out a handful of raspberries.
He pops a few into his mouth, before tossing some into the air. Niether snatches them out of the air, and swallows. He then lets out a low rumble and lays down. The dragon then notices Rocky picking up a few of his scales that fell off.
"Thinking about making some armor?"
"Yeah, I know I don't have the tools now, but one day I might." Rocky puts the few scales into his satchel. "From what I've seen, you're scales are really strong."
Rocky then leans back onto Niether, as he adjust his eyepatch. Niether turns his head to the side and rests it on the ground, right beside Rocky. The human reaches into the satchel and pulls out the weird lens, and looks it over.
He holds it up in the air, flipping it in his hands a few times.
"No clue."
"Yeah, I'm stumped. This is an odd thing." Rocky puts it back into his satchel. "Maybe it's just a weird trinket."
"Maybe we can sell it, make some gold from it. Or whatever Vikings use for currency."
"I wonder what kinda things we could buy." Rocky turns on his side, as he leans on Niether, and looks down at the scarred dragon. "Lots of cool swords, or maybe a big boat."
"Why would you need a boat, you have me."
"Eh, to show off."
"You know, I knew that, I don't know why I had to ask." Niether rumbles as he lets out another yawn.
"Conversation. Make us feel more normal."
Niether scoffs and closes his eyes. "We're far from normal. We are probably the least normal people in this world."
"You know, I would agree with you, but you know, we're in the Viking era." Rocky turns and looks at the fire. "There were a lot of freaky people back then.... now... ugh, I don't like being in the past, I miss having technology. Man, I GTA6 was coming out soon tooooooo! UUUGGGGH!"
Rocky loudly whines as he throws his arms up, only to receive a slap in the face by Niether's tail.
"Ow!"
"Go to sleep." Niether lets out a low growl, before shifting and letting out a long sigh.
Rocky huffs as he turns to his side and hugs onto the side of Niether. Snuggling against his warm scales. Rocky eyes grow heavy as he blinks a few times, before closing them and quickly falling asleep.
