“This card can only be activated during your Battle Phase.
Select two Spell or Trap Cards from my Deck, treat them as Normal Monsters, shuffle them together with one monster in my Main Monster Zone, and then Set them in face-down Defense Position!”
“Swish, swish, swish———-!”
Three identical blue top hats with question marks drawn on them appeared in the Monster Zones.
What followed was the familiar and delightful guessing game.
This was also one of the few Trap Cards Elsie actually used herself.
As for the cards she selected from her Deck and Set…
those were all chosen at Yugi’s explicit instructions.
“Hmph, just a boring stalling tactic.” Kaiba Hanatsuki snorted softly, finally understanding why the opponent hadn’t activated it at the very start of the Battle Phase, it was all to bait the revealed <Blue-Eyes White Dragon> in her hand into jumping down onto the field.
Unfortunately for them, she was the dignified second young lady of the Kaiba family, she wasn’t going to fall for something like that so easily!
At this moment, no one present realized just how vast the knowledge Yugi had displayed.
After all, the Kaiba family and Blue-Eyes White Dragon were simply too famous; the information on many of its cards had long since become public.
It wouldn’t even be strange for spirits to know them.
It was only later, when Yugi began demonstrating the abnormal sight of knowing the effects of practically every card, that they belatedly reacted———-
This was a duel spirit that had only just been summoned!
No matter how renowned the Kaiba family’s Blue Eyes was, there was no reason for him to know its exact effects, was there?
“<Twin Burst Dragon>, attack the hat in the middle!”
A Magical Hat has 0 ATK and 0 DEF, but what was revealed after it shattered made her eyes narrow.
“<Wild Tornado>?”
If this card is destroyed while Set, it has a mandatory effect: target and destroy one face-up card on the field.
Being destroyed by battle right now was fine.
But if the Battle Phase ended and this thing was destroyed by the effect of <Magical Hats>, it would trigger its card-destroying effect and blow up her own monster instead!
Kaiba Hanatsuki’s cheek twitched violently, and she couldn’t help but curse inwardly.
What kind of underworld tactics were these?
Even a single Magical Hat could be played this dirty, truly worthy of someone from the Mutou family.
Elsie: QAQ It’s not me, it’s not!
It was all Mr.
Yugi’s idea!
Thinking it over, the other Trap Card had to be <Wild Tornado> as well.
Thankfully, she still had <Dragon Spirit of White> and <Blue-Eyes White Dragon>, otherwise, <Twin Burst Dragon> would never have survived.
Can’t tell which of the identical hats is the Trap Card?
Then just unleash the golden spirit and ORA them all!
“<Dragon Spirit of White>, attack the hat on the left!”
“Bang———!”
The card shattered on impact, revealing its true form, just as expected, another <Wild Tornado>.
“Phew———-!”
Kaiba Hanatsuki let out a long breath and patted her rock-solid chest.
Without realizing it, her objective had shifted from going for the kill to protecting her own monsters.
During either player’s turn, if the opponent controls a monster, I can activate this by Tributing itself, Special Summon <Blue-Eyes White Dragon> from my hand!”
With a wave of her small hand, she declared, “<Blue-Eyes White Dragon>, attack the final hat———— Burst Stream of Destruction!”
<Blue-Eyes White Dragon> opened its jaws, spewing forth dazzling white radiance, utterly obliterating the Sealed Right Hand along with the hat.
With the monster destroyed, Yugi’s limbs naturally returned to normal.
He immediately clutched his right hand and dropped to one knee:
“Oooh, my power as the Pharaoh———!”
Yugi struck that classic pose and howled a few times, then calmly stood up and clapped his hands.
“What a cautious duelist.
I originally thought I could at least blow up one of your cards…
or leave behind my right hand.”
“Your emotional whiplash is a bit too fast, you know.” The second young lady of the Kaiba family couldn’t help but complain.
At this point, with her attacks already used up and no cards left in hand, she could only end her turn helplessly.
Forget about finishing the duel, she hadn’t even shaved off a single point of Life Points.
“My turn!
Draw!”
After replenishing her hand, Elsie immediately followed Yugi’s instructions and flipped over her last Set card.
“Activate Trap Card, <Reckless Greed>!
Draw two cards!
As the cost, I will skip my Draw Phase for the next two turns!”
“Are you making a desperate last stand?” Kaiba Hanatsuki frowned.
Skipping two consecutive Draw Phases was no different from suicide.
In other words, Elsie’s final chance at victory lay entirely in this turn.
“But your Spell & Trap Zones are completely empty now.
Even if you wanted to use Dark Factory of Mass Production to recover monsters from the Graveyard, it’s already too late.
With just those trash-tier monsters you can control, what exactly do you think you can accomplish?”
“What can I accomplish?” Yugi smiled faintly.
“Of course, defeating you this very turn!”
“You duel spirits really know how to talk big.” Kaiba Hanatsuki snorted coldly.
“Even though I have no cards in hand, I still have two powerful monsters on the field.
And the Set cards in my back row aren’t just for show.”
She lifted her chin proudly.
“Although this young lady already knew the effect of <Magician’s Valkyria>, since that little girl took the initiative to reveal it, I won’t take advantage of you.
One of my Set cards is <Sakuretsu Armor>, which can destroy an attacking monster.
The other is <Counter Gate>, which can negate a direct attack.
So tell me, do you still dare to boast about defeating this young lady this turn?”
“Then I really must thank you for your honesty.” Yugi couldn’t help but laugh.
“If my win rate was only 80% before, now it’s a solid 100%.”
“What did you say?!” Kaiba Hanatsuki was practically fuming.
“If you can really do it, then show this young lady!”
“Then open your eyes wide and watch closely, my lethal five-hit combo!” Yugi shouted.
Elsie immediately carried it out.
A flash of light erupted, and a panda dressed in cowboy gear, looking like an explorer, appeared on the field.
Treasure Panda, ATK 1100
“So it’s this guy.
It can banish up to three Spell or Trap Cards from your Graveyard face-down to Special Summon a Normal Monster.
No wonder you used <Magical Hats>.
But what can this thing really do on its own?”
“That’s where the combo comes in.
The one who can make the most effective use of the monsters summoned by <Treasure Panda>, let me show you properly!
Activate Spell Card <Monster Reborn>!
Revive <Man-Thro’ Tro’> from the Graveyard!”
A cross of holy resurrection light flashed, but what appeared on the field was a hulking brute whose entire body seemed to be made of muscle, with eyes brimming with questionable intelligence.
<Man-Thro’ Tro’>, ATK 1000
“When did this guy get sent to the Graveyard?” Kaiba Hanatsuki was startled, then immediately realized it.
“Last turn, you sent it there with <Peaceful Burial>.
You didn’t send <Exodia the Forbidden One> instead?”
“I only summoned the hands and feet.
I never said I planned to decide the duel with Exodia.”
He wagged his finger.
“Activate <Treasure Panda>’s effect!
Banish <Monster Reborn> face-down to Special Summon <Left Arm of the Forbidden One> from the Deck!
Now…
witness the might of trash-tier monsters!”
“Activate <Man-Thro’ Tro’>’s effect!
Tribute one of my Normal Monsters to inflict 800 points of effect damage to you!”
The muscle-bound brute grabbed Yugi’s left arm and hurled it straight at Kaiba Hanatsuki.
“Ooooooh!
Take this, forehead flick!”
Yugi manipulated the flying arm, delivering a solid flick right to Kaiba Hanatsuki’s forehead.
“Waaah——–!”
Kaiba Hanatsuki, LP 4000 -> 3200.
She clutched her head with both hands, tears welling up as she glared over.
“You despicable guy!
This young lady will never forgive you!”
“I’m not done yet!
Neither <Treasure Panda>’s effect nor <Man-Thro’ Tro’>’s effect has a once-per-turn limit!”
“What?!”
The power of old cards, kid!
