12 – Chilling to think about, my phone was hacked by a big shot
Lu Xiao Ning rode her motorcycle, speeding along the road.
Soon, she arrived at Wangquan Hotel.
Right away, she didn’t go to her department to check in first. Instead, she walked into the security surveillance room.
Standing outside the door, she knocked.
“Security brother, a month ago, while I was cleaning, I lost a keepsake my father gave me. Can I check the surveillance footage to see when I lost it?”
“You can, but you can only watch it here. What did you lose?”
“A necklace.”
Lu Xiao Ning looked pitiful, as if it were a serious matter.
The two security guards were completely unsuspecting. “A month ago is a bit long. Which specific day was it?”
“The 18th of last month.”
The security guard fiddled with the system and immediately frowned. “Sorry, but that day happened to be under temporary maintenance. All surveillance cameras were not working.”
“Really? I see. Then forget it.”
“Maybe you can check the lost and found registration?”
“Alright, thank you, brother.”
As she walked out of the surveillance room, Lu Xiao Ning’s face immediately darkened.
What a coincidence—the surveillance just happened to be under maintenance on the day she slept with Zong Zheng Ye?
She desperately wanted to know the truth of the matter, but unfortunately, someone behind the scenes had already taken precautions.
Her intuition told her that Zong Zheng Ye marrying her was not a simple matter.
After finding nothing, Lu Xiao Ning went straight to her cleaning department.
The cleaning department supervisor was chatting and cracking sunflower seeds with a few close female colleagues.
When she saw Lu Xiao Ning walk into the office, the supervisor’s face instantly changed.
“Lu Xiao Ning, you finally decided to come to work? Anyone would think this Wangquan Hotel is your family’s business, coming and going as you please, taking leave whenever you want? If you don’t want to work, get out now!”
“Supervisor, don’t be angry. Ning Ning has been unwell all month and has been resting at home to recover.”
Tang Tingting happened to have just finished her work and was returning to rest when she heard the supervisor’s scolding from afar.
She rushed into the office and stood in front of Lu Xiao Ning, explaining and flattering the supervisor.
“Supervisor, I heard you like mangosteens. My family grows them. I’ll bring you two boxes later.”
“Sure.” The supervisor immediately beamed, patting Tang Tingting’s shoulder. “You’re so sensible, unlike someone. For your sake, I’ll give Lu Xiao Ning one more chance.”
After saying that, the supervisor’s expression shifted again as she snapped at Lu Xiao Ning, “What are you standing there for? You’re on night shift tonight! And you’ll take all the night shifts this week!”
“A whole week of night shifts? Supervisor, are you trying to make me die from overwork? If I die on the job, the hotel will have to pay a hefty compensation, and you, as the supervisor, will be fired for overworking employees.”
Lu Xiao Ning smiled as if she were reasoning.
But her demeanor and expression seemed more like a threat.
The supervisor’s face immediately turned livid as she pointed at Lu Xiao Ning’s nose and yelled, “You ungrateful thing! Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance! From now on, you’re officially fired!”
“Supervisor…” Tang Tingting panicked, turning to tug at Lu Xiao Ning. “Ning Ning, say less. Hurry up and apologize to the supervisor.”
“Hmph! Apologizing won’t help. Get out now!”
“Auntie, I didn’t say I was going to apologize. I was just educating you about labor laws, but you wouldn’t listen. However, I actually came here today to resign.” Lu Xiao Ning said smugly.
The supervisor’s face twisted in anger!
Did she just call her “auntie”?
She’s only 39 this year, okay!
“Resign? You were fired by me! Trying to make yourself look good? No way!” The supervisor was furious, showing no mercy at all.
Tang Tingting beside her was almost in tears.
Finding a job these days is so difficult, especially since Ningning doesn’t have a high level of education.
Losing this job would probably mean being unemployed at home for quite a while.
Her family isn’t well-off, and Mother Lu alone supports the entire household, which is really tough.
Tang Tingting was genuinely worried, so she tugged at Lu Xiao Ning even harder.
“Ningning, are you out of your mind today? How dare you talk back to the supervisor? Stop talking now.”
“I’m telling the truth. I was actually here to resign today. Look, I even wrote a resignation letter.”
With that, Lu Xiao Ning pulled out a piece of paper folded into a square from her pocket and unfolded it in front of everyone.
Only a few words were written on the paper: Resignation Letter, Applicant: Lu Xiao Ning.
Especially Lu Xiao Ning’s signature, which was bold and flowing, very stylish.
“Ningning, are you serious? You’re really resigning?”
“Why would I lie?” Lu Xiao Ning blinked and waved her phone. “Come to my place tonight, and I’ll explain everything in detail.”
“Uh, okay.” Tang Tingting nodded.
Lu Xiao Ning waved her hand, turned, and walked away. Before leaving, she rudely let out a fart in the supervisor’s direction.
She swore that fart had escaped on its own.
As the saying goes, nature calls.
You can control everything, but you can’t control when someone needs to relieve themselves!
The supervisor was immediately overwhelmed by the smell, covering her nose and cursing, “Lu Xiao Ning! You did that on purpose! What did you eat for lunch? That fart is so stinky!”
Lu Xiao Ning shrugged, feeling helpless. She hadn’t expected the nutritional meal to be so potent!
Seeing the supervisor looking as if she’d eaten something disgusting, Tang Tingting stifled a laugh and quickly slipped away.
Just then, their department group chat buzzed.
Lu Xiao Ning: [Thanks for everyone’s support. See you around.]
Colleague A: [Huh? Lu Xiao Ning resigned?]
Colleague B: [Wishing you continuous success in the future!]
Lu Xiao Ning: Red envelope.
“Wow! There’s a red envelope! Lu Xiao Ning sent a red envelope. Everyone, grab it quickly!” someone exclaimed.
The supervisor immediately opened the group chat and quietly grabbed a red envelope too.
But soon, her account was forced offline.
A moment later, her colleagues around her looked at her strangely, even glaring at her angrily.
The supervisor sensed her friends’ odd expressions and was confused.
“What’s wrong?”
“How dare you ask?”
“I really don’t know!”
The supervisor was baffled, but her friends ignored her and left in a huff.
Two minutes later, the supervisor logged back into her chat account.
When she opened it, she saw that Lu Xiao Ning had already left the group, and “she” had actually been posting random messages in the chat!
Colleague C: [Thanks, Xiao Ning. I’ve always thought you were a good kid. Keep it up!]
Colleague D: [I got a 99-yuan red envelope! Xiao Ning, you’re so generous! Honestly, we’ll miss you!]
Supervisor: [Hypocrites, all of you! C, didn’t you always say behind her back that Lu Xiao Ning was dumb? And D, did 99 yuan buy you off? Have you never seen money before, or are you just a country bumpkin? Do you really miss Lu Xiao Ning, or is it the 99 yuan you can’t let go of?]
Holy crap! This wasn’t her at all!
The group chat exploded, and colleagues began blaming the supervisor.
[“You’re the one with a wicked heart, why drag others into it?”]
[“Isn’t it always you, Supervisor, who acts one way in front of people and another behind their backs?”]
[“I heard that when Lu Xiao Ning was sick and asked for leave, you weren’t happy about it and even made her work night shifts for a whole week right after she recovered? You’re truly heartless!”]
In the group chat, everyone was anonymously criticizing her.
In an instant, the supervisor became the target of public criticism.
Meanwhile, in the hallway, Lu Xiao Ning watched the argument unfold before leaving the group.
Earlier, she had sent a red envelope containing a Trojan Horse, which allowed her to obtain everyone’s password information in the group.
However, she had professional ethics and only cracked the supervisor’s account.
Soon after, the supervisor received a text message on her phone.
Lu Xiao Ning: Hehe, it’s only polite to return the favor, Supervisor. From now on, don’t go around bullying people so casually.
It was actually Lu Xiao Ning’s prank!
The supervisor was furious, but then a chill ran down her spine.
The more she thought about it, the more terrifying it became—how on earth did that brat manage to log into her chat account?
