Zhong Yi had been reciting for nearly an hour, and the person inside still showed no sign of coming out. Instead, there was talking outside.

“Why isn’t your President Jin here?”

“I’ll go in and take a look.”

Zhong Yi recognized this voice—it was Old Madam Jin!

Why was she here?

Oh no, if the old madam saw them, wouldn’t she misunderstand?

Seeing that the person was about to enter, Zhong Yi anxiously knocked on the door: “President Jin, President Jin, the old madam is here…”

The bathroom door opened.

Zhong Yi’s wrist tightened, and before she could even see who it was, she was pulled inside.

Pinned against the wall, Jin Chen covered her mouth, his voice almost pressed against her ear: “Don’t make a sound.”

Zhong Yi blinked, indicating she wouldn’t speak, and only then was she released. She looked at Jin Chen, who appeared to be in pain.

A thin layer of sweat covered the man’s face, his dark eyes like the depths of a midnight sea, as if he was suppressing and enduring something.

What was wrong with him?

Just as Zhong Yi was about to ask, she lowered her gaze and her eyes landed on the open area of his clothes. Her expression froze on her face.

!

President Jin was actually…

In broad daylight, in the office!

And he had her singing and reciting outside!

This was too perverted!

“Enjoying the view?” This woman had been staring at him, and Jin Chen reminded her with a dark expression.

“President Jin, I should go out…”

Zhong Yi frantically pushed him away, grabbed the doorknob, and tried to leave, but Jin Chen wouldn’t let her off so easily.

Who knew what was wrong with his body?

The moment he touched her, he reacted.

Looking at the woman who seemed to have “resistance” written all over her face, Jin Chen was filled with anger. Ignoring his own embarrassing state, he grabbed her hands and restrained her in his arms.

“President Jin, let me go.” Zhong Yi couldn’t help but whisper, but she still didn’t dare open her eyes.

It was too awkward.

Too humiliating.

“Shut up. Do you want everyone outside to know we’re hiding in the bathroom?” Jin Chen’s voice was low, hoarse, and carried a warning as it brushed against her ear.

Zhong Yi held onto the door, not daring to speak or open her eyes.

“Secretary Zhong, you’ve already seen everything, so why are you still closing your eyes?” This woman was really foolish. Was it necessary to keep her eyes closed like this? Besides, she had seen everything before.

Zhong Yi opened her eyes but didn’t dare look directly at him: “I… I didn’t mean to. You were the one who pulled me in.”

“I pulled you in, but I didn’t tell you to peek. Secretary Zhong, do you not want your job anymore?”

Bah!

How shameless.

But for the sake of her job, Zhong Yi could bend and stretch: “I’m sorry, President Jin. I shouldn’t have peeked. I was wrong.”

Outside, the door to the lounge was pushed open by the old madam. She glanced around but didn’t see anyone.

So she called out twice.

“Jin Chen?”

“Jin Chen?”

The voice grew closer.

Inside the bathroom, Zhong Yi’s heart leaped into her throat.

What to do? What to do? Would they be discovered?

If they were discovered, she wouldn’t be able to clear her name even if she jumped into the Yellow River. The old madam would definitely misunderstand that she and President Jin were doing something unspeakable.

Zhong Yi looked at Jin Chen with pleading eyes.

Don’t expose her.

Knock knock—

The bathroom door was knocked, and the door panel behind them vibrated slightly.

“Achen, are you in there?”

Jin Chen stared at the woman in front of him who seemed about to suffocate herself and curled his lips in amusement: “I am.”

The old madam thought he was using the bathroom: “I have something to discuss with you. I’ll wait for you outside.”

“Okay.”

After the old madam left, they heard the sound of the lounge door closing.

Zhong Yi let out a huge sigh of relief: “President Jin, I should also go…”

“Don’t move.” Jin Chen held her waist firmly. “You started this fire, so you’re responsible for putting it out.”

“…”

Zhong Yi felt like crying but had no tears.

Her almond-shaped eyes looked at him pitifully and helplessly.

Little did she know, it was precisely this look of hers that made Jin Chen recall even more, causing his body to grow even more feverish.

He lowered his head, resting his forehead against her shoulder, his voice hoarse beyond recognition: “Call my name.”

Zhong Yi: “Mr. Jin…”

“Again, don’t stop!”

Zhong Yi blushed crimson with shame, calling out “Mr. Jin” over and over again.

More than ten minutes later, Jin Chen finally found relief.

Earlier at home, he had spent over an hour without success.

He thought something was wrong with his body, but never expected that hearing her voice was the key to making it work.

Jin Chen calmed his breathing, his deep gaze falling on Zhong Yi’s body-hugging skirt.

It was soiled.

He frowned: “Sorry, I’ll have someone buy you a new set.”

Zhong Yi’s face flushed bright red: “No need, I can just wash it.”

Jin Chen first wiped her clean with tissue: “Grandmother is waiting for me, I’ll go out first. You wash up here; there’s a hairdryer. Once you’re done, don’t go out yet. Wait until I call for you.”

“Okay.”

Zhong Yi didn’t want to go out either; it wouldn’t be good if Old Madam Jin saw her like this.

After Jin Chen went out, he sat opposite Old Madam Jin, his long legs slightly crossed: “Grandmother, what brings you here?”

Old Madam Jin examined his face: “A-Chen, why is your face so red? Do you have a fever?”

“No, it’s just too hot.” Jin Chen loosened his collar.

“Hot? Isn’t the air conditioning on?” Old Madam Jin was suspicious, and the more she looked, the more something seemed off. “Why is your voice so hoarse too? And why did it take you so long to come out?”

As she spoke, Old Madam Jin reached out to touch Jin Chen’s forehead to see if he had a cold.

Jin Chen leaned back to avoid her: “Grandmother, I’m really not sick. What did you come to see me about?”

Old Madam Jin remembered her main purpose. She sat back properly and asked seriously: “I heard from A-Xu that last month at the hotel, you took a girl back to your room, and… you did it?”

Jin Chen didn’t hide it: “Yes.”

Getting a definite answer, Old Madam Jin nearly cried tears of joy.

Her eldest grandson was twenty-eight years old and had finally come to his senses!

“How old is she? What does she do? Where is her family from? Does she have any siblings? What do her parents do?”

“Grandmother, are you conducting a census?” Jin Chen sounded quite helpless.

Old Madam Jin said matter-of-factly: “You’ve already taken her to bed, shouldn’t you be responsible and find out more? I heard from A-Xu that the girl might even be pregnant. A-Chen, you have to take responsibility for her. Our Jin family won’t allow you to play around and then abandon her.”

The Jin family had strict upbringing, and with only Jin Chen as the sole child, they kept a close watch on him, never allowing him to fool around outside.

Jin Chen was also disciplined himself; he hadn’t been in a relationship even after graduating from university. The Jin family thought he was just career-focused, so they didn’t push him too much, figuring it was fine if he started dating later.

But these past two years, every time Jin Chen had free time, he would hang out with Jiang Xuqing, and neither of them had girlfriends.

The Jin family finally felt a sense of crisis.

They were afraid Jin Chen’s sexual orientation might be off, and that he was fooling around with Jiang Xuqing in private.

Otherwise, the Jin family line might end.

Just as Old Madam Jin was subtly suggesting that Jiang Xuqing shouldn’t always hang out with Jin Chen, he mentioned that Jin Chen had been intimate with a girl a month ago, and that Jin Chen had taken the initiative. Old Madam Jin was so happy she couldn’t sleep all night.

Early this morning, she immediately came to ask him what exactly had happened.

As long as he was willing, the Jin family wouldn’t be picky.

A girl would do.

But then Jin Chen said, “She doesn’t want me to take responsibility.”
