Raizen’s footsteps paused once again.
He looked back at Hina, then down at the Berries in his hand, falling into deep thought.
*Did that really count as a robbery?*
*The system’s judgment is quite interesting.
It seems to have directly classified me as a pirate committing robbery right here in Marineford.*
*I’ll test it out later.
For now, let’s see what’s inside the gift pack.*
Raizen silently commanded in his mind, *’Open the novice gift pack.’*
[Ding!
Congratulations to the host for obtaining a Devil Fruit: Zoan Type, Ryu Ryu no Mi, Mythical Model: Yellow Dragon!
It has been stored in the system space and can be withdrawn at any time.]
*A Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit?
And the Yellow Dragon at that?!*
In mythology, the Yellow Dragon was the head of the Five Holy Beasts, representing the earth element.
It could summon wind and rain, command lightning, and wield the power of the five elements.
It was a sacred beast with formidable physical strength and even more terrifying elemental power.
Eating this Devil Fruit would absolutely cause his strength to skyrocket!
*Ahem, Haki might be the path to invincibility, but having a Devil Fruit just adds another path.*
Without hesitation, Raizen quickly moved out of the sight of the trainees on the training ground, then retrieved the Devil Fruit from his system space.
“They say Devil Fruits taste worse than shit.
I’m going to see what the fuss is about today.”
Raizen took a bite.
“Blegh!
It tastes so fucking awful!”
Forcing down the nausea churning in his stomach, Raizen devoured the Devil Fruit in large bites, not even sparing the stem.
He clenched his fists, carefully feeling the explosive power surging through his body.
A moment later, a grin spread across his face.
“Hehehe, I feel fantastic right now!”
His already monstrous physique combined with the god-tier Mythical Zoan was a match made in heaven.
He estimated his raw stats were now on par with a Vice Admiral.
He had the stats of a Vice Admiral, but his combat skills and experience were still lacking.
He needed to find Instructor Zephyr for some more training.
Thus, five minutes later, Raizen kicked open the door to Zephyr’s office, infuriating the man inside.
“You little bastard!
I told you to stop kicking the door!
I just had someone fix it yesterday!”
“Relax, relax, Instructor Zephyr.
It’s just a door.
I’ll find someone to fix it for you later.”
Raizen didn’t know the meaning of politeness when it came to Zephyr.
He skillfully dug out some tea leaves from the cabinet next to the desk, brewed a cup for himself and Zephyr, and then fished an unopened box of Admiral-exclusive cigars from Zephyr’s breast pocket.
Finally, he plopped down across from Zephyr and propped his feet right up on the desk.
Watching this series of practiced movements made the veins bulge on Zephyr’s forehead.
He snapped, “What are you doing here again, kid?”
Raizen didn’t answer.
He simply waved the box of cigars in front of Zephyr, pulled one out, and held it in his left hand.
Then, with a snap of his right fingers, a ball of flame appeared out of thin air, lighting the cigar directly.
Seeing this, Zephyr’s eyes narrowed, his tone dropping.
“Raizen, did you eat a Devil Fruit?”
“Yeah, just found it.”
“What kind of fruit?”
“Zoan Type, Ryu Ryu no Mi, Mythical Model: Yellow Dragon!”
Hearing this, Zephyr immediately relaxed.
A Mythical Zoan?
That was excellent.
Every Mythical Zoan fruit was an incredibly precious existence, and they were said to choose their own suitable hosts.
The fact that Raizen managed to find this Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit meant the kid was destined for it.
He wasn’t actually against his students eating Devil Fruits; he was only against them relying on the fruits too much.
Just like those three brats currently serving as the three Admirals—especially Borsalino.
Just thinking about him made Zephyr angry.
But Raizen was different.
Although he seemed informal and full of wildness, he was by no means someone who lacked a sense of proportion.
Over their year of instruction, Zephyr had come to understand that Raizen was highly independent and didn’t need reminders about such things.
After all, Raizen was his most prized student.
Even those three brats didn’t have such formidable strength at his age.
Now, with the help of this Mythical Zoan, given time, Raizen would definitely become an Admiral!
Thinking this, Zephyr still maintained his outward composure, crossing his arms and snorting lightly.
“Don’t think you can slack off on your physical training just because you ate a Mythical Zoan.
Haki is the most fundamental foundation.”
Raizen half-closed his eyes and stubbed out the cigar.
“Instructor Zephyr, if you want to praise me, you can just do it directly.
You don’t have to be so tsundere about it.
I won’t let it get to my head.”
“You bastard, Raizen!”
Zephyr instantly flew into a rage.
He clenched his right fist, coating it in Armament Haki that looked as if it were flowing.
This was an intermediate application of Armament Haki—Emission.
It was far more powerful than simple Armament Haki coating!
With a loud bang, Raizen’s figure flew out along with a shattered door, crashing right in front of an old man wearing a dog-head hat.
“Yo, isn’t this the Raizen kid?
Did Zephyr kick you out again?”
Garp laughed heartily, holding a bag of rice crackers in his hand.
Raizen got up and patted himself down as if nothing had happened, brushing the wood splinters off his body.
This was the ‘corpse’ of the door from just now; Instructor Zephyr’s punch had instantly reduced it to powder.
*I took a loss on this one.
I just took a punch and didn’t get to train at all.*
*Instructor Zephyr must have hit harder because he saw I ate a Mythical Zoan.
If it were before, this would have definitely hurt for a whole day.*
“Ah, it’s Instructor Garp.
Instructor Zephyr doesn’t play fair.
I struck a nerve, so he got embarrassed and punched me.”
Raizen acted like this was an everyday occurrence.
He then looked around and realized he had been sent flying all the way to the harbor.
Seeing Garp’s getup, he figured he had just happened to catch them right as they were about to set sail.
“Instructor Garp, and Instructor Bogard, are you two heading out to sea?”
Over the past year at Marine Headquarters, Raizen hadn’t done much else besides acknowledging mentors.
Aside from Instructor Zephyr, Garp, Bogard, and even Sengoku were his instructors.
Of course, this was only because his innate talent was exceptional enough; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to take on so many mentors.
Raizen pulled out the Admiral-exclusive cigars he had swiped from Instructor Zephyr and handed one each to Garp and Bogard.
With a snap of his right fingers, a ball of flame appeared out of thin air.
“Hm?”
Garp’s gaze sharpened.
“You ate a Devil Fruit, kid?”
“Yeah, a Mythical Zoan.”
Hearing this, Garp immediately burst into laughter, slapping Raizen’s shoulder with his right hand, which was still covered in rice cracker crumbs.
“Good boy!
A Mythical Zoan, huh?
You want to spar with this old man right now?”
Bogard sighed helplessly from the side.
“Vice Admiral Garp, Fleet Admiral Sengoku ordered us to depart immediately without delay.
Admiral Sakazuki is under a lot of pressure right now.”
Garp curled his lip.
“Fine, nothing we can do about it then.
Kid, wait until I get back, and I’ll test your strength with my Fist of Love!”
Raizen’s ears twitched.
“Instructor Garp, what are you guys going to do?
Can I tag along and see?”
