“Oh, right.

I still need to head out for a while.

Just stay at home for now.” After finishing her meal, Nami walked towards the door.Full novel: One Piece: Scientist of the Straw Hats — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She still had to make a trip to Arlong Park.

While she was there, she also needed to find out if those idiots had followed her.

If they had, she would have to find a way to save them too.

Kain nodded and chose not to follow her.

He had no offensive means whatsoever at the moment, so he needed to develop some weapons as soon as possible.

After watching Nami leave, Nojiko gradually wiped the smile off her face.

She looked at Kain hesitantly before speaking.

“You…

You know what Nami has been doing all this time, don’t you?” “I know a little.” Kain nodded and casually picked up the cup of water on the table.

Nojiko frowned slightly.

‘Even in circumstances like these, was this man still willing to stay by Nami’s side?’ ‘If so, then he really was someone worthy of entrusting Nami to.’ As Nami’s older sister, Nojiko naturally had the responsibility of judging whether a man was reliable.

“I know what you want to say.” Kain put down his cup and waved his hand.

“But you can rest easy; I’m a trustworthy man.” “Oh, right.

Do you have any tools here?” “Things like welding equipment and hammers.” “What are you planning to do?” Nojiko asked curiously.

‘So this man truly did know about Nami’s situation, and despite knowing everything, he had still chosen to stay here.

That alone proved he was dependable.’ “I’m just making some things for self-defense.” Kain’s lips curled upwards.

“I forgot to mention…

I’m a scientist.” “In every sense of the word.” A so-called…

all-round genius!

“A scientist?” Nojiko looked surprised.

“Seriously?” This was the first time she had ever met a real scientist.

Until now, she had only heard about them from others or read about them in books.

“What’s so surprising about that?” Kain rolled his eyes.

“Don’t tell me you don’t have any tools here.” Time was running out for him.

He had to finish making his weapons before the fighting started.

Nojiko shook her head.

“I don’t have any here, but Genzo San probably does.

Wait here; I’ll go ask him.” With that, she stood up and headed outside.

If he really was a scientist, perhaps he could invent something extraordinary.

Something capable of defeating Arlong, perhaps.

Maybe…

After suppressing their suffering for so long, Nojiko truly hoped that this man could be a source of hope.

Unlike the naïve Nami, Nojiko understood just how greedy Arlong really was.

‘Would he really let Nami go?’ Nojiko sighed and looked up at the sky, her gaze gradually becoming firm.

‘Nami, no matter what happens, we’ll fight beside you.’ If Arlong and the others refused to honor their promise, they would have no choice but to fight to the death!

Sitting inside the house, Kain could sense the deeply suppressed emotions hidden within Nojiko’s departing figure.

“Don’t worry.

As long as I’m here, Arlong isn’t a problem.” If Luffy and the others failed to arrive in time…

Then I’m afraid he’d be the one claiming that kill.

………

“So that’s Arlong Park?” Usopp looked at the distant building, his voice trembling.

“Pirates who came from the Grand Line…” ‘Their strength must be terrifying.

If a fight broke out, would he be beaten to death?!’ “Let’s search the rest of the island for the Going Merry that Big Sis Nami rode on,” Johnny suggested.

“If those Fish-Men discover us here, we’re finished!” ‘The three of us might all end up dying here!’ Usopp nodded in agreement.

That was definitely a good plan.

Zoro ignored the two of them entirely.

He picked up Wado Ichimonji and stood up calmly.

“I’m heading in,” Zoro said indifferently.

Although he disliked what the woman was doing, it was still the captain’s order.

Besides, he also wanted to see just how strong these so-called Fish-Men really were.

He wondered, though, whether there were any swordsmen among them.

“Why are you charging in right away?!” Usopp completely lost it.

“Are you an idiot?!” “We haven’t gathered any clues yet!” “And the enemy is a Fish-Man!” Johnny shouted back, sounding nervous.

He had no intention of dying there.

“I don’t like making things complicated.” Zoro glanced at the distant Arlong Park, his expression utterly calm.

“Luffy told me to bring that woman back, so no matter who the enemy is, I’m bringing her back!” So what if they were Fish-Men?!

He’d just cut them down!

Usopp and Johnny exchanged a glance.

Without hesitation, they smashed a hammer into Zoro’s head.

When Zoro woke up, he found that the two idiots had tied him up.

“What the hell are you idiots doing?!

Untie me now!” ‘Were they morons?!’ If the enemy found them without him, their only real combat strength, how were they supposed to fight?

Zoro felt like he was about to explode with anger.

Unfortunately, the two troublemakers completely ignored him, focusing instead on observing the distant Going Merry.

Since they had found the ship, the others couldn’t be far away.

Just as the two were celebrating, several Fish-Men suddenly appeared in the distance, scaring Usopp witless.

When the Fish-Men leapt into the water and charged towards them, the two cowards abandoned Zoro and ran!

Watching the two Fish-Men rushing toward him, Zoro’s mouth twitched.

Those bastards… Sooner or later, he was definitely going to cut them down.

“Why’s there only one person here?” one Fish-Man asked suspiciously.

“He probably drifted here from somewhere else.” “Whatever.

Let’s take him back and let Big Brother Arlong have a look.” As for whether the guy lived or died, they couldn’t care less.
