“Satan!

Satan!

Satan!” “Appear before us, Lord Satan!” “Destroy the bastards who enslaved and exploited us!” “Kill…” In a dilapidated basement, a group of black-robed figures knelt around a pentagram, their heads bowed in fervent prayer.Full novel: One Piece: The Brewer of the Elixir of Immortality — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Outside, the sky had grown ominously dark.

Thunder rumbled among the clouds.

Rumble!

A bolt of black lightning tore through the roof and struck the center of the basement.

The entire building trembled as thick black smoke erupted from the summoning circle.

The black-robed worshippers quivered with excitement.

One after another, they raised their heads, their expectant gazes fixed on the smoke.

A shadowy figure flickered within its depths.

“Lord Satan…” one of them whispered.

“Is that truly you, Lord Satan?

Have you heard our prayers?” Satan?

What are they talking about?

Confusion flashed through Dæmon’s eyes as he surveyed his unfamiliar surroundings.

A slight frown formed on his face.

Where am I?

Wasn’t I hit by a car while crossing the street?

How did I end up here?

Suppressing his bewilderment, Dæmon calmly asked, “Where is this?” Judging by the robes, the pentagram, and the prayers, it appeared that he had been summoned through some kind of sinister ritual.

“This is the human world my Lord!” Among the black-robed figures, an elderly man with the most reverent expression and impeccable kneeling posture hurriedly answered.

“Lord Satan, please destroy the Celestial Dragons and the Marines for us!” “Destroy whom?” Dæmon froze for a moment.

Celestial Dragons?

Marines?

Is this the world of One Piece?

Have I transmigrated?

“The Celestial Dragons!” The old man gritted his teeth, hatred burning in his eyes.

“A year ago, our country caught the attention of the Celestial Dragons.

They turned our island into the site of their human-hunting competition.

Everyone was slaughtered.

We are the only survivors!” It really is the world of One Piece!

Dæmon’s heart sank.

This was an incredibly dangerous world.

Pirates ran rampant across the seas, the Celestial Dragons treated ordinary people like livestock, and the Marines often served as the World Government’s enforcers.

How was an ordinary person supposed to survive here without some kind of special advantage?

If he became a pirate, the Marines would hunt him down the moment he gained even the slightest reputation.

He might end up thrown into Impel Down before accomplishing anything.

Joining the Marines was hardly safer.

He could be ordered to hunt pirates, encounter an overwhelmingly powerful enemy, and perish at sea without anyone remembering his name.

So, where is my cheat?

As if responding to his thoughts, translucent words appeared before Dæmon’s eyes.

Only he could see them.

[You have been summoned as a demon.] [Matching you with the Demon System…] [Matching complete.] [Name: Dæmon] [Identity: Demon] [Demon Points: 100] [Demon Skill 1: Creation of the Elixir of Immortality] [Demon Skill 2: Locked] [Demon Skill 3: Locked] […] A demon?

Dæmon stared at the display in confusion.

Do actual demons even exist in the world of One Piece?

He knew a fair amount about the manga and its Devil Fruits, but whether genuine devils existed was another matter entirely.

Still, demon-summoning rituals certainly existed here.

Some countries apparently used pentagrams and ritual sacrifices in an attempt to summon supernatural beings.

When the elderly man noticed “Lord Satan” staring coldly at him, he mistakenly believed he understood the demon’s intentions.

The old man immediately lowered himself until his forehead touched the floor.

“Great Lord Satan, we are willing to offer you our lives!

In return, we ask only that you avenge our fallen people!” Dæmon remained outwardly composed.

Inwardly, however, he was at a loss.

He had only just received his special ability and did not even understand how it worked.

How was he supposed to fulfill their lifelong wish and kill the Celestial Dragons?

Besides, he needed to determine what era he had arrived in.

After a brief moment of thought, Dæmon spoke in a calm, unfathomable tone.

“The last time I was summoned to this world was during the era of Joy Boy.” When thrust into an unfamiliar place, establishing an impressive identity was essential!

Since the system had designated him as a demon, then from this moment onward, he would act like one.

The old man appeared even more awestruck.

“Lord Satan, it is currently the year 1482 of the Sea Calendar!” The year 1482?

Dæmon did not immediately recognize its significance.

Who bothered memorizing specific calendar years while watching anime?

However, he remembered that Monkey D.

Luffy would set sail in the year 1522.

That meant Luffy’s journey would begin forty years from now.

And thirty-eight years before that…

Dæmon’s eyes narrowed.

The God Valley Incident!

After performing a quick calculation, he finally understood which era he had entered.

The God Valley Incident would occur two years from now, in the year 1484.

That battle would lead to the downfall of the legendary Rocks Pirates.

Its surviving members would scatter across the seas, and three of them would eventually become Emperors of the Sea.

“Where are we?” Dæmon asked.

The old man answered without hesitation.

“Hachinosu—also known as Beehive Island.” “…” Dæmon fell silent.

Isn’t Hachinosu the headquarters of the Rocks Pirates?

Of all the places and eras he could have transmigrated into, he had appeared at the home base of the most dangerous pirate crew in the world.

This was beyond a difficult beginning.

It was a disastrous one!

“I understand your request,” Dæmon said, maintaining his mysterious demeanor.

“You may leave.” He waved his hand, dismissing them.

The old man hesitated at first.

Then, as if he had suddenly deciphered some profound meaning behind Dæmon’s words, his expression brightened.

He kowtowed once more before respectfully leading the others out of the basement.

Only after they left did the room finally become peaceful.

Dæmon had no ability to kill the Celestial Dragons.

Rather than worrying about fulfilling his summoners’ wish, he was far more interested in understanding his system.

He focused on his first skill.

[Demon Skill 1: Creation of the Elixir of Immortality] [Elixir of Immortality: Anyone who drinks the Elixir of Immortality will become immortal.

Regardless of the injuries they suffer, they will not die.

Even if their limbs are severed or their bodies are destroyed, they will eventually regenerate.] [Creation Cost: 100 Demon Points per bottle.] “!!” Dæmon’s eyes lit up.

The power of immortality!?

The ability seemed strangely familiar.

It must have originated from a novel or anime he had encountered in his previous life.

However, at the bottom of the description was a line of tiny text that could easily be overlooked.

[Side Effect 1: A demon may place its right hand upon an immortal’s head and think of the word “devour.” The demon will then absorb the immortal’s body, memories, experiences, and knowledge.

This is the only known method of permanently killing an immortal.] [Side Effect 2: Immortals cannot lie about their names and must address one another using their true names.] “These side effects are rather terrifying…” Dæmon quickly understood the implications.

He could grant someone immortality and later devour that person, obtaining their knowledge, memories, experience, and even physical strength.

Although the system recognized him as a demon, his current body remained that of an ordinary human.

The problem was that devouring someone required him to place his right hand directly on their head.

What if the target resisted?

Anyone who knew what he was attempting would struggle with all their strength.

Therefore, Dæmon would need to ensure that his target was completely incapable of fighting back before making his move.

“When devouring someone, I’ll have to be extremely cautious.

I can’t act until the target has lost the ability to resist.” Immortality did not grant infinite stamina.

An immortal could still grow tired, especially after an intense battle in which all their strength had been exhausted.

Furthermore, regenerating damaged flesh consumed both physical strength and energy.

The more severe the injury, the longer the restoration process would take.

That weakness could be exploited.

“Now for the final question…” Dæmon stared at the remaining information.

“Creating the Elixir of Immortality requires Demon Points.

How am I supposed to obtain more?” He patiently examined the system and soon discovered the answer.

There was only one way to earn Demon Points.

He had to devour Devil Fruits.

“It seems Demon Points won’t be easy to acquire.” Dæmon rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

“I only have one hundred points, which is enough to create a single bottle of the Elixir of Immortality.

I’ll have to use it as efficiently as possible.” After considering his options, Dæmon activated his skill.

Black lightning crackled between his hands.

Dark energy gathered around his palms before gradually condensing into an elegant bottle filled with wine.

Dæmon removed the cork and brought the bottle to his nose.

The wine possessed a surprisingly rich and enticing aroma.

He stared at the bottle for several seconds.

Then a dangerous idea entered his mind.

“Perhaps one little sip wouldn’t hurt?”
