Chapter 10: Stupid Mockery

Online Game: I Can Evolve My Summons Endlessly

Emil trailed the man once; the man had blonde hair, and small dark dots were covering the skin around his nose. He was clad in metallic armor from top to bottom; a sword was hung around his waist. All of this indicated that he was of the knight class.

’Giving any sort of reaction here will cause unnecessary trouble for me,’ Emil said inwardly.

He looked at his summon once before walking towards the dungeon. He came to a stop just before he reached the entrance, less than a meter away. Only then did he notice the small information boards standing beside each dungeon, as though they had been placed there to guide aspiring adventurers.

On some of them was written "Dungeon Raid Ongoing," and some simply reflected "Unoccupied." He decided to walk towards the other dungeon, as the one in front of him was already occupied.

He passed two more dungeons, which were occupied, just to finally stand next to the unoccupied one. He didn’t have any more time to waste, so he stepped forward.

But he felt someone’s touch on his left shoulder; slight pressure was applied. Emil glanced sideways and noticed the same man from before standing next to him, along with his party members.

"Nuh uh, the dungeon is already occupied, little bro," the man said.

As soon as he heard those words, Emil froze. His jaw hung open while his lips twitched helplessly. An overwhelming sense of cringe crawled up his spine, leaving him staring at the giant with an expression that screamed, Please tell me you didn’t actually say that.

’What do you mean by little bro?! And a grown man is spouting such nonsense... pathetic,’ Emil spat inwardly.

He didn’t pay any attention to them, which they certainly craved. He simply found another dungeon and stepped through it.

The mana waves devoured him whole, and the next instant, he found out that his surroundings had changed completely. He was now standing in the middle of thick, long grass.

Around him stood trees that were twice the size of usual trees. Small holes covered the trunks of the trees, and from deep within them, echoes emerged at irregular intervals, making the forest feel strangely alive.

His summon stood next to him, his gaze fixed at the front as if he were trying to take a better grasp of the surroundings.

"Do you have a name?" Emil’s voice carried curiosity.

The giant’s head turned towards him; he shook his head once in disagreement.

A faint grin appeared on Emil’s face as he continued. "Then I’ll name you because I don’t want my summon to stay nameless."

Although he had said that he’d name the giant, he didn’t think about how difficult a task it would be. He stood there for a couple of minutes, trying to come up with a name that was suitable for his summons.

But then, an idea suddenly flashed through his mind. His eyes lit up as he slammed his fist into his open palm in realization. "You’re ridiculously huge... and somehow you make everyone around you look small... I’ll call you Atlas."

Atlas immediately dropped onto his knee; his axe rested on the ground beside him. He had his head turned towards the ground, reflecting that he absolutely loved the name that Emil bestowed upon him.

But the strange gesture caught Emil off guard; he wasn’t familiar with such hospitality. Although he saw Atlas bow in front of him multiple times, it still felt otherworldly to him.

"Okay, okay, get up now." He said, directing both his palms forward before he continued. "There’s no need to do any of that."

Atlas followed Emil’s command, lifted his axe, and pushed himself up.

Emil’s attention shifted towards the surroundings once again; his gaze lingered in all possible directions. ’Let’s complete the task for which I came in here.’ He said inwardly.

He walked further inside the dungeon, expecting something to bump into him so that it would make his work easier.

But finding the monsters wasn’t easier; he had to keep walking for dozens of minutes just to spot the first horde of goblins.

A complete plain stood in front of him, but instead of roaming animals, monsters were standing on the ground. They had green skin and crooked noses and wore only leather clothing to cover their genitals; some held wooden spears, and others carried wooden swords alongside shields. They were the goblins.

They seemed to be discussing something, but it was difficult to hear their words.

There was an enormous tree in front of him, and he didn’t waste this opportunity and quickly took his cover behind it.

The tree’s trunk had enough space even to fit Atlas’s frame, so basically, there wasn’t any possible way in which they’d get caught.

Unfortunately for him, he was unaware that the presence of goblins in the area often meant that others were patrolling to prevent any trouble.

A goblin, which was relatively smaller in size than the others, had a wooden spear in his grip and was standing behind them.

Atlas was first to notice it, but he didn’t attack the goblin because Emil didn’t tell him to, nor did he sense any kind of danger through it.

Then, Emil noticed that Atlas was looking at something, so he trailed his gaze and found out that a goblin stood in front of them.

But before Emil could do anything, the goblin’s hand slid towards its back as it grabbed a wooden horn and blew it with all its lung power.
