"Two people, you say?"
"Yeah, two people."
A week had passed since my mock battle with Guild Master Jan¹. I was now hearing about the 'visitors from the Guild Headquarters in the Royal Capital' in the usual Branch Master's office.
Raid and Milia², our usual members, were also in the room, and we began to share information and discuss future policies and countermeasures.
"But just two people... Was it like that when Raid-kun was 'tested'?"
Raid-kun responded to my voice, looking up slightly and gazing at the empty air.
"For me, it was more like a 'test of strength,' y'know? They just wanted me to 'show 'em this Wind Magic people are talkin' about,' is what it felt like—Gil and Luce got somethin' similar."
So, all they had to do was show their stuff in front of a crowd of unspecified people.
"...Are those two people looking to fight me?"
"They are. The other four backed out."
Jan's reply gave me pause. Huh? A question immediately popped into my mind.
"Um... does that mean a total of six people initially came here?"
The Guild Master nodded. The woman standing behind him, a member of the accompanying duo, opened her mouth.
"Yes, that's correct. Initially, six individuals wished to 'test' Shin-san and came all this way. However, after the Guild Master and we explained the details of the 'training' that took place the other day, four of them immediately withdrew."
"Ah, I see. Did those four think that since they could somewhat hold their own against the Guild Master, there was no need for a test with me?"
Jan, who had been silent, let out a wry chuckle.
"The real truth is... they apparently wanted to defeat you—the one rumored to have killed a Giant Boar and a Wyvern—to earn some clout for themselves."
"They found out you were actually as strong as the rumors claimed, not just a rumor, and tucked tail and ran, is what happened. It's pathetic, is what it is," Raid commented, scratching his head with a mix of astonishment and displeasure.
But if that was the case, the real problem was—
"Then the two who didn't back out... are they quite formidable opponents?"
The Guild Master gave a big nod.
"You catch on fast. Their goal is less about picking a fight and more about a genuine test of strength. Well, the 'test' is probably going to be in about two or three days. That gives us time to analyze those two and come up with countermeasures."
As he spoke, he handed me two documents that had been lying on the table.
"Claudio and Olga Schweitzer... Is this Olga-san a noble?"
Among the people I had encountered in this town, the only one with a proper full name was Count Doorn's family. Her name, therefore, inevitably caught my attention.
"She is. I think she's a Viscount, but she's an oddball who joined the Guild, saying that social status doesn't matter when it comes to an adventurer's strength."
From the sound of it, she seemed to be a rather spirited young noblewoman.
"What's the nature of their strength?"
"They are both Silver Class, but Olga uses Fire Magic, Wind Magic, and a special system known as Reflection (Reflect). She's also known by the moniker, 'Silver-Haired Witch.' Claudio, on the other hand, specializes in swordsmanship using Body Enhancement (Boost)—you can think of him as a close-combat type. His nickname is 'Endless Stamina' (Toughness)."
So, they were two types: one primarily projectile-based and the other melee-based. It was helpful to have a general idea of their tendencies, but—
Noticing my conflicted expression, the young man and woman spoke up in encouragement.
"Well, you can fight the Guild Master like that, so you'll have no problem!"
"The issue is probably more with Olga-san. Reflection, what was that again...?"
Now that they mentioned it, I was hearing about that magic for the first time. I could somewhat imagine it from the name, but still. I subtly turned my gaze back to Jan.
"Ah, Reflection, as the name suggests—it literally bounces magic and mana right back."
"What about against Body Enhancement?" I just couldn't imagine anything other than countering a projectile.
"Huh? It bounces that back just fine. It reacts to the nature of mana, even if it's mediated through a weapon. I've sparred against the two of them in training before, and Olga was definitely the more troublesome one."
For the Guild Master to say that, she must be quite skilled.
"Is it an active ability, or does it activate automatically?"
"I believe it's active. But don't try anything reckless like looking for a gap to hit her. She'll use Reflection the moment she finds an opening. Her skill is comparable to the Gold Class. The 'Silver-Haired Witch' moniker isn't just for show."
He then looked away from me and faced the two standing behind him.
"Just like Raid—she only stays in Silver Class because she hates having too many obligations and constraints placed on her."
Raid, whose name was called out, and Milia simultaneously averted their eyes in opposite directions.
"Does that mean Claudio is also Gold Class in skill...?"
Jan turned back to me, shaking his head.
"He's certainly highly skilled if it's strictly close-quarters combat, but he doesn't have any tricky or hidden moves like Raid's Boomerang or anything. I'll grant him the tireless endurance that earned him the name 'Endless Stamina,' but... if Raid focuses entirely on long-range attacks, he wouldn't lose to Claudio. He's just a step away from making Gold Class."
"So, it's not enough to be good at just one specialty..." I replied, mixed with admiration and surprise, and Jan closed his eyes and continued the discussion.
"Of course not. That's what Gold Class is. I wouldn't call it 'omnipotent,' but you absolutely must cover your weaknesses or areas you're not skilled in. You can't be called to an emergency and say, 'I can't do this,' or 'That's impossible.'"
The two people behind him nodded in agreement.
"Also—being mainly close-range carries too high a risk. If you were mainly a long-range fighter, like Raid or the Gil and Luce combo, I don't think you'd be complained about as much."
I see... Even within the Gold Class, the main style of combat significantly determined one's value. Certainly, if you had two weapons of equal attack power—a sword and a gun—and were asked which to choose, well...
"Come to think of it... the test I, Gil, and Luce took in the Royal Capital was only about destroying targets, not actual combat."
"Oh, really?"
"Hmm."
The people who had stayed in town and hadn't gone to the capital chimed in.
"Well, I think you, Shin, can handle anyone. Just don't win too easily, okay? Make it a fight that the gallery will be satisfied with."
"I'm not a sideshow, you know... Should I just bring some food to the training grounds and try selling it?"
I couldn't help but snap back at the Guild Master, a selling word for a buying word, but Raid and Milia's reaction to that was:
"That might actually be a good idea!"
"The food Shin-san makes, like the ones with bread or the skewered dishes... it could actually work?"
And after that, the consultation continued, but the conversation had strangely moved away from match strategy.
That evening—
In an inn slightly more luxurious than the 'Clan' Inn, a woman was lying on the bed.
She was perhaps a little under 170cm tall. She had a young face that could be mistaken for a child's at first glance, paired with long silver hair, and her mature expression looked mismatched with her appearance.
She spoke to the ceiling, as if talking to herself—
"Giant Boar Killer... the subjugator of 'Bloody Axe Ogre' Glantz... the Wyvern Takedown... And all of those are the same person, you say? Hmm..."
As she rolled her body horizontally across the wide bed in thought, a knock came at the door.
"Clau? The key is unlocked, come in."
The door opened after she confirmed the voice, and a young man entered.
He was around twenty years old. About 175cm tall, with an average build—short chestnut hair and a seemingly mild-mannered face. However, the muscles in his arms and other key areas were not those of a civilian, even if they looked slender, and they spoke volumes about a life dedicated to battle.
"How did it go?"
"Ah, it was amazing. In the Royal Capital, a mayonnaise dish that costs several gold coins can be bought here for just two silver coins, and the meat and fish are unbelievably cheap..."
"No, I don't mean that." She sat up from the bed, interjecting to the man's report.
"You mean 'Shin,' right? I asked around quite a bit, but... when he defeated the Giant Boar, it was apparently a post-incident report. When he shot down the Wyvern, even the people who were with him didn't quite know how he did it. The only one everyone in town saw was when he captured Glantz, and that was just him winning a test of strength, they said—"
"I suppose it's possible with that Weapon Master magic you have, but... I heard he was using a staff during the 'training' with Branch Master Jandou."
The man called Clau pulled up the provided chair, placed it in front of her sitting on the bed, and sat down.
"Is it possible that he possesses more than one Weapon Enhancement magic, Olga?"
The woman, whose name was called, shook her silver hair from side to side.
"Two types of enhancement magic, for an axe and a staff? I can't definitively say no, but maybe he just has extremely strong Body Enhancement."
"If that's the case... if he agrees to close-quarters combat with me, I might have a chance, right?"
At his words, she sighed.
"Clau, honestly... This is the person who shot down a Wyvern, you know? You're far too optimistic."
"Well, I'd rather charge in and get crushed than turn tail and run like those other four, wouldn't I?"
Olga smiled wryly, stood up, and headed for the table to fetch a drink.
"Speaking of which. Have those four people gone home already?"
"No? Maybe they find this town too comfortable, because they're still staying here. The food is cheap and delicious, there's a huge bath, and the stomping dance that's famous even in the Royal Capital... There was even something like a cold-water bath, and above all, that toilet is unfair."
She prepared two drinks, offering one to him.
"Then I have some new information for you."
"What is it?"
Claudio gulped the drink down without formality, and Olga continued.
"The food, the bath, and even the new toilet in this town... All of it—was apparently created by an adventurer named 'Shin.'"
Upon hearing that, he spectacularly spat out the liquid in his mouth.
"Huh?! HUUUUH?! So the story at the Guild Headquarters was true?!"
"Yes, that's right—I initially thought that several people's separate accomplishments had been stitched together to create one legendary figure. But after gathering information discreetly around town, it seems to be true."
Wiping his mouth, Claudio straightened his posture.
"No, no, no. That's ridiculous... Why isn't a guy who can do all this in the Royal Capital? He'd be sought after by everyone!"
"The Branch Master here called him an 'eccentric,' remember? If there's no reason for him to hide his identity, then that's the only way to describe it."
Olga gave Claudio a pat on the shoulder.
"Hm? What is it?"
"You haven't had dinner yet, have you? Shall we go eat? Apparently, the 'Clan' Inn is friendly with this 'Shin.' The new dishes usually appear there first. We should make good use of the information we've managed to acquire, don't you think?"
At her words, he stood up from the chair.
"Yeah, I guess so. Since we came all this way."
"Then it's your treat."
"Why?! You're the noble, Lady Aristocrat!"
"Information isn't free, you know? Besides, we might learn about this 'Shin's' personality or reputation! Come on, hurry up and get ready!"
"This is your room! I don't have anything to get ready!"
He protested, and she lightly brushed him off—the two headed toward their destination.
"Welcome. Oh, you two are new faces, aren't you?" Claire Age³, the proprietress of the inn, spoke to Claudio and Olga.
"Yes. We heard rumors about the food and absolutely wanted to try it."
"And man, it smells delicious already in here..."
In the dining hall, which was nearly full, the two searched for a place to sit.
"Hurry up! These are customers who came all the way from out of town, so make some room!"
The proprietress urged the regulars aside, finally securing a table, and seated the newcomers.
"Now, what should I get? I've already had the Tempura and the mayonnaise dishes—and the shellfish and shrimp."
"The price is so low, you know... We could probably conquer the whole menu in just a day or two."
Looking at the menu, the two exchanged troubled glances, unsure of what to order.
"Well, how about trying a new dish? It's the first of its kind in this town, made fresh today."
At Claire Age's suggestion, Olga and Claudio turned to her simultaneously.
"We'd love to!"
Receiving their order, the proprietress gave a wry smile, lowering one eyebrow.
"Well, actually, that's all we're serving today. It's always like this when a new dish comes out."
Huh? The man and woman looked around, intensely scrutinizing the dishes the other customers were eating.
"...Wait? Are they eating Tempura... or not?"
"If you look closely, it's different. Tempura looked a bit lighter in color, paler..."
While they were observing, Claire Age disappeared into the back kitchen.
"So, that great smell when we came in was this. It's definitely not the same as Tempura."
"Could this also be a new dish from that 'Shin'? Maybe he's surprisingly domestic."
"No, no... This is a man who killed a Giant Boar with his bare hands, remember? He's probably more muscular than the Branch Master here..."
"If he can use Body Enhancement, that doesn't matter. You're not exactly that muscular yourself."
While the two were debating his true character, in the kitchen—
"I'll take these. They're for the new customers' table, right?"
"Thank you. Even though we're so busy, you're helping us out."
As Claire Age and two other temporary hired women were busy preparing food, I offered to do the delivery myself.
"No problem. Food just tastes better when it's made by a professional, after all..."
"I'm glad you think so. The newcomers' table is immediately to the right after you exit the kitchen."
After being told the exact location, I carried two plates in both hands and headed over.
On the plates were Chicken Cutlets and various fries—fish, shrimp, and shellfish—as well as Croquettes.
Since the chicken farm had practically doubled in size, the egg production also doubled, allowing us to use eggs in dishes other than mayonnaise. That's why we introduced the fried cutlet/fry dishes. Immediately after returning from the Guild Branch, I started working on it with Claire Age and some temporarily hired housewives from the neighborhood.
While I didn't know how to precisely adjust the oil temperature, frying itself was no problem, thanks to the experience and know-how from the Tempura success.
The breadcrumbs were acquired by grating hardened bread, and after coating the ingredients in the order of flour dissolved in water, then whisked eggs, and finally the breadcrumbs, the world's first Cutlets and Fries were completed.
"Alright... Did she say right after leaving? Ah, is that it?"
I spotted a young man and woman arguing at the designated spot... Did I make them wait too long? I hurried through the crowd.
"I apologize for the wait. Please be careful, as they are hot."
As I placed the dishes on the table, the preceding noise came to an abrupt halt, and their eyes converged on the food.
"Wow..."
"What is this delicious-looking food?! It looks different from Tempura after all!"
Satisfied by the surprise in the man and woman's wide eyes, I spoke to them as a temporary waiter.
"Oh, you've had the Tempura already? That one is also deep-fried, but the way we make this is a little different. We used chicken and fish for this, and shrimp and shellfish for that, and the round ones are mashed potatoes."
"I... I see... Like the Tempura, I've never seen a dish like this before. How do you make it?" The woman asked, her eyes darting back and forth with interest in the cooking method.
"Idiot! Why would he tell you?!"
"Well, Tempura is made by coating the ingredients with flour dissolved in water and deep-frying them in hot oil. This is also deep-fried, but we coat the ingredients with a mix of flour and egg, and then coat them with powdered bread before frying."
The young man was in a daze at my simple answer, and the woman's eyes widened.
"A-are you sure you should be giving away the recipe?"
"Mm, it's not exactly a secret..." I replied, scratching my cheek.
The man snapped out of his trance.
"Well, even if we know the recipe, it'd be a lot harder to gather all the ingredients—the meat, the fish, and the eggs. Let's just eat! We can think later!"
"You're always... well, I was going to say that, but that smell is just unfair. Well then, I'll enjoy this."
"Please, take your time."
I gave them a quick bow and returned to the kitchen to help out again.
—Thirty Minutes Later—
"Delicious... Too delicious..."
"Hey, how do we go about changing our registered Guild branch again?"
"You're jumping too far ahead! Though I know how you feel."
The two had completely cleaned their plates and were now discussing the lingering aftertaste.
"...You could make a fortune selling just this in the Royal Capital."
"I understand less and less. What's his goal? What kind of person is he... Maybe 'eccentric' is the only word for him." Claudio downed the cup of sake and let out a hearty exhale.
"But I think I've figured something out." In contrast to Claudio's reckless conclusion, Olga began to speak calmly.
"This food... If what that person said is true, it takes a tremendous amount of effort to make. And he has the boldness to use an expensive ingredient like eggs without reservation."
"Well, he's not an idiot. He's made the bath and the toilet and all that stuff, too. And on top of that, he has the record of killing a Giant Boar and shooting down a Wyvern. I gotta say—he's the last person I'd want to fight as an opponent."
"And your impression?"
"It's like... the more I learn, the more interested I get, but at the same time, the less chance of winning I see... It's like everything that was vague before has cleared up, but in a bad way."
He gave a wry smile, and she chuckled, standing up from her seat. She spoke in a low voice.
"(Let's continue this conversation back at the inn.)"
"(...Good idea. I heard this place is friendly with 'Shin'—he might have spies planted here... The last thing we need is to be investigated ourselves.)"
He also stood up and called a server for the bill.
"Thank you very much. We hope to see you again."
After paying the bill and stepping outside, the sun had already set, and night was beginning to fall.
"...That cost only three silver coins after all that food."
"And that was for two people, including the alcohol. The server said it was a sample, though."
Both wore expressions of disbelief as they looked at each other and started walking back to the inn where they were staying. But her words made them stop in their tracks.
"But even so... you've actually analyzed the situation quite calmly. I'm impressed. With this, it seems you won't make a humiliating loss."
"Tell me I can win!" He retorted, but she continued with a cool demeanor.
"I am praising you. A beast with combat ability superior to a Wyvern—and combined with high intelligence. This is the first opponent I've encountered that I cannot clearly envision myself defeating or even fighting against."
"For you to say that, Olga." He, too, now looked at her with a mix of admiration and surprise.
"That Baron was making all sorts of 'requests,' but why didn't he realize he chose the wrong opponent? In any case, it looks like we should give up on that 'extra income' opportunity."
"Ha! Easy for you to say. You never intended to take that job in the first place."
After an exchange only the two of them understood, Olga smiled broadly.
"So, what are you going to do? I won't laugh if you try to run away now."
"You're really not cute, you know. ...Huh?"
At that moment, the man who had served them at the 'Clan' Inn walked up to them. He was carrying a net with a wriggling fish inside.
"Oh...? Ah, customers. Are you already heading back?"
"Yes. The food was extremely delicious."
"Whoa, that's a huge fish!"
I briefly looked at the fish in my net.
"Ah, in this town, we have an artificial stream where we temporarily keep fish swimming. The food was more popular than expected, so I was going to retrieve some additional stock."
"I see, I see... I almost thought you'd gone down to the river to catch it yourself."
"There's no way!" I chuckled, said my goodbyes to them, and saw the two off.
After watching them walk away, I muttered to myself.
"Speaking of which, the people who are here to 'test' me are also in this town. I wonder where those two are and what they're up to."
I started walking again, hurrying in the opposite direction from them.
"Three days from now, you say?"
The day after I finished teaching and helping with the new dishes at the inn, I was called to the Branch Master's office to hear the news.
"Yeah. The two remaining—Claudio and Olga. They said that date works for them. You're fine with it too, right?"
I nodded but felt a discrepancy in the wording and asked a question.
"Um? 'That date works for them,' you said... Was that date not their choice?"
"No, it was the request of the Adventurer's Guild Branch here."
I tilted my head, confused, and he continued.
"Before, for the 'training' with me—a lot of residents came to watch, didn't they? So, I got the Town Deputy and the town elders involved and talked it over. And things progressed quite smoothly, like it was a festival. Milia and the Guild staff were pretty enthusiastic, too."
Is this turning into a big event?! I was surprised, but at the same time, I conceded that there probably wasn't much entertainment here.
"I'm fine with it, but... are Claudio-san and Olga-san okay with this? Are they convinced?"
"Well, they're the ones who came barging in, so I'm not gonna let them complain. Besides, this is a great opportunity for the whole town to cooperate. I want to use this chance to strengthen the ties between the Adventurer's Guild and the town."
I was impressed that he was thinking like a true leader.
"If that's the case—I'll help out however I can."
I spoke half-jokingly, but the Guild Master grinned.
"I knew you'd say that, Shin. So, for starters—we're going to need a lot of food in three days. Especially large quantities. I'm counting on you to put in some serious effort!"
"Ouch."
For the next three days, I was chasing after fishing, hunting, mass-producing night-dried fish, and making mayonnaise.
—Three Days Later, the Day of the Event—
The 'test' was somehow renamed the 'Demonstration Festival,' and the Adventurer's Guild hall, which was the venue, was filled with an unfamiliar buzz.
When I opened the door and stepped inside, the reception desk was manned by people other than the usual staff or Milia.
"Oh? Ban-kun and Lilie-san?"
There stood two of the three childhood friends. They were currently helping with the security of the orphanage and assisting Pack's request for a new ingredient-finding expedition.
"Um, we were told to work at the reception here today—"
"Ah, Kart is helping with various things backstage. Ban and I will be relieved later, so we'll definitely come and cheer for you, Shin-san!"
I see... Ban-kun had a somewhat androgynous face and long hair, making him what would be called 'visual kei' back on Earth. Lilie-san's long silver hair would also be eye-catching to anyone. They were undeniably beautiful people—and young. There couldn't be better personnel to overturn the image of the Adventurer's Guild as being full of roughnecks.
I bowed to them and headed further into the facility. That area was like a kitchen for making light meals.
"Ah, Kart-kun, you were here." I greeted the remaining member of the childhood trio.
"Shin-san! Please do your best today, I'll be cheering for you later!"
While I didn't mind being cheered on, I felt a complex mix of emotions since the battle itself wasn't what I originally wanted.
"By the way, did you need something?"
"Ah, um... is the other staff or Milia-san around?"
Just as I was about to ask, the bespectacled woman rushed over.
"Shin-san! How are the preparations coming along?"
It was Milia. She must have been incredibly busy, as her first question was straight to the point.
"The preparations are done. We have a hundred portions each of chicken and fish ready from the 'Clan' Inn, ready to be cooked and served at any time."
Hearing my answer, she looked genuinely relieved.
"I... I see. Thank you. And the complementary items for the kids, or rather, the little ones—"
"I've arranged for thirty Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches and thirty White Fish Fry Sandwiches each. I've also informed the other inns and restaurants that they can be supplied as spares at any time. I told the 'Clan' to cover things with Croquettes and skewered shellfish if they run out of food."
She let out a deep sigh of relief.
"Th-thank goodness... We managed to pull it off... Well, I'm off! Oh, Kart-kun! Move those barrels over there to the warehouse as quickly as possible!"
With that, Milia dashed away like the wind.
"I never thought it would turn into such a commotion." I scratched my head, feeling a mixture of surprise and nervousness at the magnitude of the event.
"The little ones from the orphanage wanted to come and cheer, too..."
"Well, that's not really something to show to very young children."
This time, considering the presence of children, we had set an age limit. The minimum age was set at ten years old, and in return, children under the age of fourteen would be provided with Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches and White Fish Fry Sandwiches free of charge. This was partly for image enhancement directed toward children.
"Then, I'll go and greet the Guild Master."
"Yes! Good luck with your match!!"
I then headed toward the Branch Master's office on the second floor.
This was for a final confirmation of the plan, and also for something else—finally meeting my 'opponents' face-to-face.
I knocked on the door, and an immediate reply came.
"Hey, Shin. Come in. The other two are here."
"Excuse me."
As we looked at each other's 'opponents'—
"Huh? The customers from that time?" I blurted out.
The young man and woman's eyes widened like cats in surprise.
"Eh?"
"The... waiter from that time?"
For a moment, all three of us froze.
Summary:
The highly anticipated 'test' for Shin, involving the two remaining Silver/Gold-class challengers, Claudio and Olga, is rapidly transforming into a town-wide 'Demonstration Festival' thanks to Guild Master Jan's efforts. The chapter highlights the tension between the serious intent of the test and the comedic reality of the town's obsession with Shin's revolutionary food.
Unaware of who Shin is, Claudio and Olga dine at the 'Clan' Inn, falling for the irresistible new Cutlets and Fries and realizing the 'eccentric' adventurer is also the source of all the town's modern comforts. The chapter climaxes as Shin finally meets his opponents in the Branch Master's office, only to realize they were his recent dinner guests, leaving all three utterly stunned.
Character Insight:
Shin remains profoundly disconnected from his own legendary status. He sees himself as a temporary waiter and chef, viewing the battle as an annoying necessity that he is happy to turn into a catering opportunity. His true loyalty is to the food and the town's development. Olga is revealed as a meticulous strategist and noblewoman who is trying to analytically conquer the 'problem' of Shin. Despite her high status, she is willing to conduct grassroots espionage for a competitive edge. Claudio is the relatable everyman, a strong warrior who is utterly charmed and overwhelmed by the simple pleasures of good food and a clean toilet, momentarily forgetting his mission. Jan is the master manipulator, using Shin's fame to unite the town and the Guild, fully embracing the chaos.
Behind the Scene:
The decision to pivot the Guild test into a 'Demonstration Festival' is a significant narrative move. It cements Shin's role not just as a powerful adventurer, but as a community cornerstone and cultural innovator. The detailed descriptions of the Cutlets and Fries serve to ground the fantasy world in satisfying, modern realism, which is the core conceit of the story. The accidental first meeting is a classic light novel trope used to generate comedic tension and surprise, setting the stage for a highly unconventional 'test' in the next chapter. The preparation sequence reinforces the scale of the festival and Shin's essential, but often overlooked, contribution to the event.

• Shin - An average, middle-aged Japanese salaryman who prides himself on his common sense and average abilities. He was forcibly sent to a fantasy world by a God and granted the 'ability' to prevent anything 'outside his common sense' from occurring in his presence.
• Claudio - A Silver-class adventurer called “Endless Stamina,” known for his toughness, with short chestnut hair, a mild face, an average build with strong arms, and a height of 175 cm. He fights in close combat using Body Enhancement (Boost) and a sword, with Gold-class potential limited by low versatility.
• Olga - A Viscountess and eccentric Silver-class adventurer known as the Silver-Haired Witch, with long silver hair, a youthful face with an adult expression, and a height just under 170 cm. She specializes in Fire, Wind, and Reflection magic, and avoids Gold-class promotion to escape obligations.

• Claire - The sharp-witted owner of the inn 'Clan,' which was previously famous for its private bath. She is a powerful water-magic user.
• Lilie - One of the three new adventurers housed by Shin, she is a striking beauty with waist-length silver-white hair, deeply moved by the simple kindness and good food at the orphanage. Her appearance resembles that of a young noblewoman.
• Ban - One of the three new adventurers housed by Shin, he is gentler and more reserved than Cart, with an androgynous appearance, shoulder-length hair, and a gentle-looking demeanor.
• Pack - The town's sole medical practitioner, he possesses extensive knowledge of traditional remedies and immediately recognized the superior nutritional value of Shin's egg-based 'patient food.' With long hair often mistaken for a woman from a distance, he has a slender build and favors practical, no-nonsense clothing suited for foraging and medicine preparation.
