Calisto brought Jiang Xuning to a room. When the door opened, it turned out to be an elevator.

“An elevator? Isn’t this area open to the public? I didn’t even know this place existed.”

“No. Only VIP clients know about it.”Full novel: Overwhelmingly Spoiled: The Possessive Tycoon’s Cross-Border Romance — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Jiang Xuning looked at Calisto beside her and teased him playfully.

“Then I really have Mr. Eisner to thank for this. Now I’m fortunate enough to come here too.”

After learning his F Country name, she had kept calling him Achi.

Calisto did not tell her that, in this world, the only person who had once called him Achi was his mother—and now, it was only her.

“Borrow it as much as you like. It doesn’t matter if you borrow even more.”

Calisto gently rubbed Jiang Xuning’s head. When his eyes met hers, his gaze deepened, and his words seemed to hint at something.

Jiang Xuning’s little face flushed faintly. “L-Let’s go first.”

Calisto’s eyes held a smile. His Little Kitty had understood him. It seemed she was not completely without feelings for him, after all.

When they stepped out of the elevator, they found a magnificent set of doors. Two masked attendants stood in front of them.

Seeing the two of them approach, they hurriedly opened the doors with great attentiveness.

“May Sir and Miss have a pleasant time.”

The moment she entered, Jiang Xuning understood what this place was for: gambling.

At a nearby table, someone was shouting.

“Impossible! How could this happen? How could I lose everything? Give me one chance—just one more chance! I have a daughter. I can send her to Mr. Calisto—”

Before he could finish, several burly bodyguards dragged him away.

Calisto was in a very unpleasant mood. He had initially merely watched with cold eyes. Things like this happened here countless times every day.

Besides, he had rather enjoyed the way Jiang Xuning had unconsciously moved closer to him in fright.

But that idiot had suddenly brought him into it.

Jiang Xuning turned to look at him, one eyebrow lifting slightly. “Send her to… Mr. Calisto?”

“I didn’t. I’ve never touched another woman. He lost his money and was talking nonsense.”

Calisto hurriedly tightened his grip on Jiang Xuning’s hand as he explained.

At that moment, he really wanted to kill that man. What if Xuxu didn’t believe him?

“My family recognizes only one partner for a lifetime. I…”

“All right, I was teasing you. I’m not stupid.”

Jiang Xuning shook his arm with amusement.

Of course she knew. It was obvious that the man had lost his gamble and wanted to send his own daughter away. What a scumbag.

No longer dwelling on the subject, Jiang Xuning looked around with curiosity.

“Did you bring me here to play this?”

“Yes. Do you want to try? If you lose, it all counts as my money.”

Calisto gazed gently at the girl beside him and let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Xuxu was clever and hadn’t been affected by some idiot.

“What if I win?”

Jiang Xuning met Calisto’s eyes with a smile.

“If you win, it’s naturally yours.”

“Aren’t you afraid I’ll become addicted? This seems like the kind of thing that’s easy to get addicted to.”

“I don’t think you will. Even if you do become addicted, it doesn’t matter. I have plenty of money. You can play until you’re no longer addicted.”

As far as he was concerned, it didn’t matter what Jiang Xuning wanted to do. He had money, power, and influence. She could do whatever she wanted.

“What does your money have to do with me?”

Jiang Xuning felt that she had been blushing more and more often lately.

Calisto lowered his head and leaned close to Jiang Xuning’s ear.

“Whether it has anything to do with you is entirely up to you.”

“Weren’t you going to bring me to play? Come on.”

Blushing, Jiang Xuning pulled him by the hand and led him farther inside. Of course she knew what Calisto meant, but she wasn’t going to agree to him so quickly.

Calisto brought Jiang Xuning to the table at the very back. The people beside it hurriedly gave up their seats, while an attendant brought over new chairs.

He led Jiang Xuning to sit down. The gamblers at the tables on either side repeatedly glanced over, but no one dared approach them to start a conversation.

Even with their masks on, it was obvious from their noble bearing that they were certainly not ordinary people.

Calisto in particular gave off an intangible pressure simply by sitting there lazily.

He kept holding Jiang Xuning’s hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

“Don’t be afraid. Just play around.”

He lowered his head and chuckled beside her ear. His warm breath brushed across the shell of her ear, carrying the faint, cool fragrance of cedar.

“I don’t know how to play. Is there some simple game?”

Jiang Xuning was neither nervous nor afraid. She was simply curious. Apart from having money and confidence of her own, Calisto also gave her an enormous sense of security.

She didn’t know why, but as long as Calisto was beside her, she felt completely at ease.

“Something simple? Then let’s compare card values.”

Calisto lifted his eyes toward the person across the gambling table. The tenderness in his eyes disappeared, replaced entirely by cold indifference.

It sounded like a question, but was actually a notification.

Just one look from him made Laiqike tremble all over.

This man… How could this man be so terrifying?

Laiqike, who had originally felt a little lustful upon seeing Jiang Xuning, suddenly lost all interest.

This man was definitely not simple. He couldn’t be provoked.

“This lady is playing for the first time, so let’s compare card values.”

Laiqike piled on a smile and readily agreed.

The dealer began dealing the cards.

Calisto turned his head toward Jiang Xuning, who was half leaning against him.

“Do you want to win or lose?”

“What a stupid question. Of course I want to win.” Jiang Xuning lightly patted his hand.

The dealer beside them heard their exchange and saw Jiang Xuning’s action. His hand shook so badly that even the cards he was dealing trembled.

No wonder everyone said that one absolutely must not offend the Miss Jiang beside BOSS.

“Whatever Xuxu wants to win, she can win.”

In the rounds that followed, Jiang Xuning won every single one. The pile of chips in front of her grew larger and larger.

After playing a few rounds, Jiang Xuning began to find it boring.

Then an idea occurred to her. Her eyes shifted, and she looked at Calisto.

“What if I want to lose now? Can I lose?”

Calisto chuckled, the hand resting on Jiang Xuning’s waist giving a small tug.

“Whatever Xuxu wants, she’ll have.”

Sure enough, she lost the next round.

Jiang Xuning was certain now. It wasn’t that she had been lucky. It was obvious that he had been coaxing her along.

Jiang Xuning slid her hand to Calisto’s waist and pinched it, giving him a fake smile. “I had no idea my luck was this good.”

He caught the mischievous hand at his waist, the smile at the corners of his lips deepening.

He truly loved the way Xuxu acted spoiled in front of him, though he put on a troubled expression.

“Xuxu is really difficult to please. Winning isn’t good enough, and losing isn’t good enough either.” There was even a hint of grievance in his tone.

“What nonsense are you talking about? Who asked you to please me?”

Shy, Jiang Xuning indignantly objected.

“For the next two rounds, I want to lose too. And all the money I lose will be yours.”

Jiang Xuning looked at Calisto with her cheeks puffed out. She actually seemed quite happy about losing.

“All right. I’ll listen to Xuxu.” Calisto smiled indulgently.

After losing two rounds, she no longer wanted to play. It wasn’t interesting, and she had realized that she was beginning to feel a little distressed about the money she had lost. To him, that amount probably didn’t even count as a splash of water.

“I don’t want to play anymore. Let’s go back.”

Comparing card values wasn’t very interesting. Once she learned some more entertaining games, she would come back and try her luck through her own ability.

“All right.”
