The moment the Consciousness Crystal sank into the dark core, Zee opened his inventory window.

He didn’t wait for the core to settle. He dumped every remaining resource he possessed into the floating sphere all at once.

The combination violated every foundational rule of standard planetary engineering. Carbon and organic waste held no metallic structure. Water dust diluted core density. Unstable gravity ore created violent tectonic shear, and the crystal forced neural conductivity straight through volatile mud.

It was a recipe for total core collapse.

The reaction was instantaneous and violent.

The dark sphere violently expanded, cracking open like a hollow egg. Thick streams of boiling water vapor erupted from the fissures, mixing with grey carbon ash and glowing blue gravity dust.

The glass platform beneath Zee’s feet shattered into spiderweb fractures.

“What is he doing?!” a nearby Creator screamed, backing away in panic. “His core is going critical!”

Across the sector, alarms blared as emergency barrier fields deployed around Zee’s station. Gen spun around, his eyes widening as he watched Zee’s world heave and twist like a dying heart.

“Zee, pull out your core tether now!” Gen yelled over the deafening roar of escaping steam. “It’s collapsing!”

Zee didn’t pull back. He slammed both hands directly into the boiling dark crust, holding the fracturing pieces together with his own willpower.

Blood burst from his palms as the chaotic energy surged through his arms, but he refused to sever the link.

The World Core began to malfunction violently.

The green interface text glitched, twisted into unreadable symbols, and dissolved entirely. The crimson warning banners shattered into jagged fragments of red static.

The dark sphere squeezed down to the size of a fist, pulling all space and light inward. Zee fell to his knees, gasping for air as his vision turned pitch black.

Then, the compression stopped.

A single, massive wave of pure kinetic force exploded outward, blowing away the surrounding steam and ash.

The core expanded back into a heavy, dark blue globe wrapped in swirling white clouds, shifting continents of dark soil, and deep ocean basins. Deep beneath the surface, a soft, rhythmic pulse echoed, not as a mechanical engine, but as a living breath.

Inside Zee’s mind, a new, golden system notification tore through the red static.
