Upon realizing the crisis, Xing Yun immediately looked at Rong Ping’an. “You said you would protect me. It is time for you to prove it.”
Rong Ping’an pulled her hand away from Xing Yun’s as if electrocuted. A blush spread across her face, and quickly, she covered her face with one hand, turned her head away, and moved further from Xing Yun, whispering, “Tch… do not stand so close to me. I have told you before that I do not buy into acting spoiled.” She stole a glance at Xing Yun before quickly shifting her gaze away. “I have always said I will not protect useless people.”
Xing Yun’s mouth twitched, leaving her speechless.
The five people hiding in the back were already huddled together for warmth out of fear. One boy tremblingly pulled a pill from his pocket and chewed it loudly without water. His eyes were locked firmly on Xing Yun. Someone beside him grabbed him. “Quan Tianjiao, just do as I say. I will tell you one more time.”
“What are you making such a racket for?” He shook off the restraint, looking impatient. He ran over in three or two strides and, pointing at Xing Yun but speaking to Rong Ping’an, said, “Abandon her here. She will not be a qualified teammate for you.”
His eyes trembled as he looked at Rong Ping’an, revealing a manic expression. “The system rules state that if a teammate dies, you die together, but people do not die here! If you abandon her here, will you not be able to completely break free from the shackles of the rules? And I can sacrifice everything for you. I have more instance experience than she does; I will definitely do better than her!”
Xing Yun was stunned. What this guy said actually made sense. But just for a moment, Xing Yun calmed down and said, “Do not forget, God does not like selfish people.”
“What if you were accidentally left behind on your own?” Quan Tianjiao became excited. “What if we wanted to save you but failed? Who could you blame then?”
“Heh.”
Accidents were things that truly happened at any time in an infinite instance.
Xing Yun’s brow tightened, and she turned her head stiffly toward Rong Ping’an. Rong Ping’an opened her mouth to speak, but unexpectedly, the crazy man they had encountered at the beginning ran over. He still had a terrified look on his face. “You cannot get out! You really cannot get out!” The man was delirious, crying and laughing, repeating the same words as before.
Quan Tianjiao’s eyes opened even wider. He breathed heavily, and then, ignoring everyone else’s gaze, he went over and wiped the blood off the man’s face. He said in disbelief, “Chen Zhiqiang, it really is you.”
One of the remaining four stammered, “Chen Zhiqiang? Is he not a veteran of the infinite games?”
Rong Ping’an also chimed in. “Mmh… I have heard his name too. By time, he is my senior.”
Chen Zhiqiang drooled, looking nothing like someone with his wits about him. He blankly pushed Quan Tianjiao aside and walked shakily forward. When he reached Xing Yun, he suddenly started running. He rushed in front of Xing Yun. “You cannot get out! Unless someone takes my place, is it you? Did you come to take my place?” The foul air he exhaled made Xing Yun afraid to even breathe.
“Stop acting crazy in front of me.” Rong Ping’an was just about to reach out to push Chen Zhiqiang away, but Xing Yun was faster. Before she could, Xing Yun raised her leg and kicked Chen Zhiqiang to the ground; he somersaulted on the floor before finally stopping.
Xing Yun rolled up the sleeves of her pajamas, ready to give Chen Zhiqiang another hit should he try to rise.
Rong Ping’an watched from the side, stunned, and could not help but knit her brows. “I did not expect you to be this kind of person.” She looked very displeased.
“What do you mean?” Xing Yun had a face full of question marks. “How else do you think I survived the last instance?”
Rong Ping’an shook her head and pointed at Chen Zhiqiang on the ground, saying in disbelief, “You even flipped your hair at him.”
“Huh?” Xing Yun was speechless.
Did she not just habitually smooth back her hair after kicking someone?
“I give up on you. I like acting spoiled to people, okay?” Xing Yun returned Rong Ping’an’s own words to her, then completely ignored Rong Ping’an’s disappointed expression and turned to crack her wrists at Chen Zhiqiang. “Then I should act spoiled properly now.” She said this with a sinister tone, which, paired with the flickering lights, made people feel a chill.
The others hid on the side, some shivering and some watching the spectacle, while only Rong Ping’an stood where she was, feeling conflicted.
Quan Tianjiao looked at everything in front of him, feeling a bit stimulated. He did not understand why the seemingly compliant beauty had suddenly become so manic. He had originally thought Rong Ping’an kept Xing Yun because there was some unspeakable, illicit sexual transaction between them, but now it did not seem like that.
After all, in infinite games, sometimes people were not picky about gender.
Xing Yun took a few deep breaths. She punched the rising Chen Zhiqiang a few more times, confirming he would no longer be a threat before stopping. She discovered that the attribute points from the bubble machine earlier were permanently saved, to the extent that she began to deeply regret why she had not blown a few more bubbles.
She also suddenly understood why she felt hungry so quickly; because the points for hunger were also saved, she was now a human-shaped big eater.
After the lights flickered again, they dimmed. This time, even though Xing Yun was mentally prepared, she still felt a chill in her heart when she opened her eyes and saw a few more people missing.
“Xing Yun, we cannot delay any longer here. Getting out of this room is the top priority.” Rong Ping’an said faintly.
Xing Yun folded her arms. “One, two, three… including the one lying on the ground, there are only six of us left.”
“You choose me, I will not let you down. I can definitely do better than her.” This time Quan Tianjiao also dodged over, still stating his theory to Rong Ping’an, but Rong Ping’an ignored him.
Xing Yun let her dissatisfaction show. “Why do you like to have your hot face pressed against a cold butt so much?”
Quan Tianjiao looked at her, provocation in his eyes, looking like a man who already had victory in his grasp.
“What are you feeling smug about?” Xing Yun was amused by anger and walked to his side. “So you like cool places, right? I will find you a cooler one, one that ice-packs your internal organs.”
She really did not want to hear his nonsense. She found a coffin box in the middle of the room, grabbed Quan Tianjiao’s collar with her left hand, opened the coffin lid with her right, and shoved him directly inside.
Quan Tianjiao did not expect her strength to be astonishingly great. He had not had a moment of leisure since arriving at the infinite games, spending all his time training physically besides eating and sleeping, but he never expected to be outdone by Xing Yun.
He was pressed into the coffin by Xing Yun even before his items could take effect in his panic.
Xing Yun’s movements were clean and neat, and her ears were finally granted peace.
The pungent smell that wafted out after the coffin opened made Xing Yun’s eyes well up with tears involuntarily. She felt it was very embarrassing, so she wiped them carelessly, then stood on the coffin, looking down at the others, making eye contact with the person who had tried to block her earlier. “Are you his teammate? Want to speak for him?”
“I am not his teammate.” The man said in horror. “But you said it, God does not like this.”
“Hahahaha…” Xing Yun stood on the coffin, laughing until she bent over. She said exaggeratedly, “Since you think God does not like me, then call God to punish me! Call God to save him!” She narrowed her eyes. “Maybe God likes people like me.”
She jumped off the coffin and walked to his side. “Call God then. Look, is He coming?”
He stepped back. “Madman.”
“Do not think I do not know it was you who instigated Quan Tianjiao.” Xing Yun made a move to pull the person in front of her into the coffin as well. During the struggle, the man fought back.
The man’s voice was hoarse. “Wait… you cannot do this!”
But Xing Yun did not listen at all, simply doing what she wanted to do.
But he had more reaction time than Quan Tianjiao. “Do not think about a ray of white light.”
Xing Yun frowned, subconsciously outlining the appearance of white light in her mind.
The more one hears not to think about something, the more one subconsciously imagines it.
And in the next second, she felt an uncontrollable pain in her brain.
“What is this!”
“Hahahahaha, you fell for it. You did not think everyone was like that fool Quan Tianjiao, did you?”
“Cough…”
But what the man did not expect was that before he could be smug for two seconds, he saw Xing Yun open her eyes again. The whites of her eyes were completely red, and she was shedding blood tears.
This time, the man panicked completely. “How are you still able to move?”
“Ha…” Xing Yun gasped for air. “How the hell would I know? I was just thinking that if I do not press you into the coffin too, I really will not be able to close my eyes.”
“Help, save me!” The man finally could not take it anymore and shouted, but no one paid him any mind. He begged directly, “Do not do this, do not put me inside. You are God, you are the God.”
This sentence was something Xing Yun had never thought of, and her footsteps paused as a result.
She… was God?
That was an interesting way to put it.
Xing Yun let go of her hand, feeling a strange sensation; her body trembled as if she were electrocuted, and she even felt a pleasure comparable to an orgasm.
Originally, she wanted to let the man in front of her go directly, but watching him suddenly cry and beg for mercy on the floor, she suddenly cooled down as if splashed with cold water.
The person in front of her was just spouting nonsense to survive.
With a cold face, she picked him up again and put this selfish, hypocritical villain into another coffin.
“Disgusting.”
At the same time, in the pure white space, God listened to His follower calling Xing Yun “God” in his panic. He was uncommonly furious, pacing back and forth in the space, sometimes turning into a cloud of black mist, sometimes gathering back into a human form.
He had been watching Xing Yun the whole time, wanting to find out what Xing Yun feared, and then precisely destroying everything she had.
“Damn it.”
“Damned.”
Finally, He roared, “Well played, Xing Yun!”
“Hahahahaha.” He wandered and laughed again. He suddenly felt that perhaps He had spent His long life just waiting for someone like Xing Yun to appear.
Someone different from everyone else, someone who made the God who created this world curious, someone who delusional thought of being God.
“Interesting. Truly interesting.” He finished speaking and shook the chained flame called “Love” again. “Sooner or later, you will be willingly locked here by Me.”
