The old man's movement was extremely fast, completely beyond Mo Yu's perception. He didn't even see the old man's motion clearly before a long blade was pressed against his throat.
It was a cane-sword.
It had been resting by the table just moments ago, utterly unremarkable.
Mo Yu showed no fear at all, continuing to speak arrogantly, "Go on, kill me. If I get hurt, I guarantee that woman will end up in pieces, scattered everywhere."
The old man pulled out his mobile phone and made a phone call. No one answered on the other end. He asked coldly, "Where is the young miss?"
Mo Yu said, "This isn't the place for a talk. Our boss wants to see you."
The old man sneered, "Don't even think about deceiving me. The young miss is still in the cable car."
"Oh, then check again." Mo Yu replied with a grin. "The implant behind her ear. It's quite easy to find."
Seeing that the old man had no fear, Mo Yu used rewind to observe from behind him, and discovered a map and a red-dot locator on the old man's mobile phone. He immediately understood that Mary had a tracking device on her.
Rewind, replayed.
After checking several times in the cable car, he dug a small chip out from behind Mary's ear and destroyed it, then came back to negotiate with the old man, picking up right where his words had left off.
The red dot vanished.
The old man's mobile phone began to sound an alert.
His expression darkened.
The shopkeeper noticed something was off and walked over this way.
Mo Yu kept raising the stakes, "The cross can't protect her. We've been planning this for a very long time."
The old man struggled with himself, then put away the cane-sword, warning, "Don't hurt her, or else Moon Split will make you pay a heavy price!"
"Don't worry, she won't die. Let's go, time to meet our boss."
Mo Yu stood up, and when the shop owner approached, he explained the two of them had just been filming a staged video, so it drew no attention. They left smoothly, boarded the Sightseeing Car that had already been prepared, and drove out of the Amusement Park.
Once out of the Amusement Park, they hailed a rented car and continued moving further away, driving on and on, until the old man's patience ran out. He drew the long blade again and pressed it to Mo Yu's neck, demanding:
"Where exactly are we going?"
"Right here will do."
Mo Yu smiled, and vanished on the spot, leaving only the old man, his face changing dramatically.
It was his Mirror Image.
A scheme to Lure the Tiger Away from the Mountain.
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, project area.
Mo Yu leaned his back against the wall.
At this moment, he was wearing sunglasses, a mask, and a baseball cap, tossing a coin in his hand, his gaze locked on the distant clock tower, watching the second hand tick endlessly around.
After the second hand completed a full circle, he caught the coin and tossed it off to the side and behind him.
The coin rolled, tracing two circular paths before coming to a stop beside a door marked "No Entry for Non-Staff." The door opened, and a staff member walked out. He spotted the coin on the ground and bent down to pick it up.
Mo Yu seized the chance and slipped through the door.
After picking up the coin, the staff member turned and locked the door.
Mo Yu moved along the corridor, and following the room numbers, he quickly found the electrical room. He forced the door open with brute strength and entered.
After calculating the timing, he pulled the main switch, then kicked out with all his strength. The terrifying power unleashed by his 5.3 physique instantly warped the metal electrical box, sending sparks flying in all directions.
The entire area lost power completely.
After leaving the electrical room, Mo Yu entered the staff maintenance passage nearby, moved along the tunnel, kicked open a locked door, and successfully found the cable car Mary was riding in.
Mirror Image had already dug out the cross, destroyed the tracker, and knocked Mary unconscious.
Mo Yu pulled open the cable car door, tucked the cross into his pocket, used tape to quickly stop Mary's bleeding, then stuffed her into a sack and left along the staff passage.
The moment he stepped out the door, he ran into a staff member.
Relying on his extraordinary Power, Mo Yu lifted the sack with one hand, making it look effortless. No one would suspect there was a living person inside.
He used the Sightseeing Car to relocate.
Along the way, he also stopped by an Item Storage, placed the cross in a small box, and left it there, noting down the claim number so he could retrieve it anytime.
He brought Mary toward the Volcano Castle.
This was a massive themed area, with a large Volcano Castle at its center, divided into several levels, quite spectacular in scale.
Mo Yu drove the Sightseeing Car around twice, found a tunnel leading downward, and slipped underground. This lower level was mainly a staff activity area. In an unremarkable corner of a wall, he found the "x" mark the maid had mentioned.
He got off to take a closer look.
It was a wall made to resemble volcanic rock, with no visible entrance at all.
Mo Yu reached out and knocked on it, discovering the space behind the wall was hollow. He then slammed against the door with force. Soon, the wall swung inward, and someone wearing sunglasses poked their head out, cursing, "What are you doing? Go, go, go, get out of here, don't linger here."
Blood-red Text surfaced.
This person was a Vampire.
A subordinate of Elise.
After confirming the location, Mo Yu used rewind, heading straight here from the area entrance, cutting out the time spent searching in between.
He removed his sunglasses and mask, pointing at himself, "Take a good look, it's me."
"Who are you? Don't recognize you."
"I'm the Human who fell into the swimming pool the day before yesterday. Per number 1's request, I've brought the person here."
Mo Yu pointed at the sack in the back seat of the Sightseeing Car.
The Vampire looked Mo Yu up and down, then left with a "wait here," and shut the door. A moment later, the door opened again, and this time a bald man stepped out — the very Knight-level Vampire he'd seen the day before.
The bald man looked Mo Yu up and down, his brow furrowing, "You... are that food?"
"What else would I be? I've caught the person, see for yourself."
Mo Yu rolled his eyes and pointed at the sack.
The bald man stepped forward to check, and upon discovering Mary inside the sack, his expression turned excited. He barked at his subordinate, "Quick, quick, open the door." All the while glancing nervously side to side.
The wall opened.
Behind it was a small garage.
He drove the Sightseeing Car into the garage.
Throughout this process, the bald man remained on high alert, and the other Vampires were all tense as well.
Mo Yu asked, "What are you all so nervous about?"
The bald man answered, "This woman should have had someone protecting her. How did you manage to knock her out and stuff her in a sack?"
Mo Yu replied, "The Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea tunnel. I was worried about being noticed, so I specifically took the staff passage."
"Well done, Human." The bald man praised him, then called out to his subordinates, "Quick, gather everyone, we're moving out."
One Vampire said, "Lord number 12, it's still daytime. Shouldn't we wait for sundown?"
"Staying here is the real danger. Once Moon Split's people notice something's wrong, they'll definitely send people after us." The bald man answered, hoisting the sack onto his shoulder and heading off, the others following close behind.
Mo Yu followed along as well.
Behind the garage was the staff activity area, already occupied by the Vampires.
Two more Knight-level Vampires appeared, a man and a woman. From how the other Vampires addressed them, one was number 7 and the other number 9.
Both of them were quite worked up, stepping forward to check and talking over each other in a clamor.
"You really caught her?"
"All that preparing we did, and it was for nothing."
"Stop arguing, this is a good thing. We don't even need to lift a finger ourselves. What comes next is the real focus of the operation."
"The sun hasn't set yet... let's move anyway, we can't wait. Notify the Young Miss."...
Mo Yu listened quietly.
From the scattered fragments of conversation, he got a rough idea of Elise's plan.
The other side intended to lure the target here after sundown, and under the cover of the haunted house, forcibly abduct them. As for what would happen after that, the Vampires didn't reveal it, only mentioning that other Knight-level Vampires would be there to receive them — this was a plan they'd been preparing for a long time.
What these Vampires hadn't expected was that Mo Yu had already abducted the target past 1 p.m. in the afternoon.
Outside, the sunlight was bright and clear, which wasn't favorable for the Vampires' abilities, but they still decided to relocate.
The group made their way down the stairs to an even lower underground parking area, one reserved specifically for staff use, with a passage leading directly out of the Amusement Park.
Three Vans were parked here.
Within just a few minutes, over twenty Vampires had gathered, all of them Elite-level.
Number 12 loaded Mary into one of the Vans, with two Elite Vampires flanking her on either side, the unconscious Mary sandwiched between them.
The other Vampires began boarding as well.
Mo Yu spoke up, "I'm coming too."
Only then did number 12 remember Mo Yu. He instructed, "Human, you don't need to be involved in what's left. Leave here quickly. Once things are settled, the Young Miss will reward you."
Mo Yu didn't argue. He silently memorized the license plate number and left.
As for how to get in contact with the Demon Hunters, he had a half-formed idea.
