Aiden Shaw pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Got it.”

After hanging up, Aiden Shaw lay on the sofa to rest for a moment before sitting down at his desk to organize his case files.Full novel: Please Pretend to Be My Boyfriend — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

By the time he finished his work, the sky had already started to darken.

He took off his white lab coat, changed into his own clothes, and went to Laura Lowell’s hospital room.

“Dr.

Shaw, what are you doing here?”

Laura Lowell was lying in her hospital bed watching TV.

When she saw Aiden Shaw walk in, she quickly sat up straight.

Watching the girl who had straightened up in an instant, a brilliant smile touched his lips.

“Your mother-in-law wants me to bring you home for dinner.”

‘He’s…

he’s really getting into character, isn’t he?’

Laura Lowell bit her lip awkwardly, her voice as clear as water when she spoke.

“Dr.

Shaw, we don’t really have to pretend when no one’s around…

Going to your house for dinner feels a bit too presumptuous.”

“You promised you’d cooperate with me and put on a show for your mother-in-law.”

Laura Lowell remembered that she had indeed promised, but she really didn’t want to go.

‘After all, I was the one who asked Dr.

Shaw for a favor first.

It wouldn’t be right to refuse now.’

After thinking for a few seconds, she nodded in agreement. Get faster updates on g.com.

“All right, then.

I’ll go change my clothes.

Just wait a moment.”

Aiden Shaw nodded and walked over to the sofa to sit down.

Laura Lowell grabbed an outfit from the wardrobe and went into the bathroom.

She quickly freshened up and applied some light makeup.

She wore a white one-piece dress with a light blue denim jacket over it, and a pair of white canvas shoes on her feet.

‘This looks okay.

Even if I’m just playing a part, I should still look presentable.’

Laura Lowell came out of the bathroom, casually slinging a bag over her shoulder.

“Dr.

Shaw, let’s go.”

“Okay.”

The two of them walked out of the hospital room side by side.

The medical staff passing by in the hallway were practically dying of envy.

‘What kind of heavenly looks are these?’

‘They look so perfect together.’

“Dr.

Shaw, since this is my first time visiting your home, should I buy something for your parents?

It would be more polite.”

“No need.

Your father-in-law and mother-in-law will be happy just to have you there.”

Once they were in the elevator, Aiden Shaw’s long, slender fingers pressed the button for the B1 level.

His brilliant eyes fell on the girl beside him.

‘Dr.

Shaw’ is too formal.”

“Oh, I see.”

…

At the old Shaw Family residence, Marian Miller and Arthur Shaw were already waiting in the living room.

In the kitchen, a grand dinner had been prepared, covering an entire table.

Today was the first time the Shaw family’s future daughter-in-law was coming to their home for dinner, so of course, they couldn’t be anything but welcoming.

Besides, Marian Miller was incredibly fond of Laura Lowell.

Meanwhile, Ethan Shaw had been ordered by his dear older brother not to come home for dinner tonight to avoid meeting Laura Lowell at the Shaw residence.

Aiden Shaw’s car pulled to a stop at the old residence.

Laura Lowell took in the mansion, which was as large as a palace, and sighed to herself.

‘Dr.

Shaw’s family is so rich.’

In the dim light of the car, Aiden Shaw glanced at the girl in the passenger seat, a smile playing at the corners of his eyes.

“What’s wrong?

Not planning on getting out?”

His clear, pleasant voice pulled Laura Lowell back from her daydreaming.

A sweet smile appeared as she fluttered her eyelashes.

“No, I’m getting out now.”

They got out of the car together.

Aiden Shaw’s well-defined fingers naturally found Laura Lowell’s soft palm, and he laced their fingers together.

In the next second, a blush crept up Laura Lowell’s fair cheeks, and her heart began to pound.
