“Dr.

Shaw…”

Laura Lowell’s words trailed off as her gaze met Aiden Shaw’s gentle, handsome eyes.Full novel: Please Pretend to Be My Boyfriend — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her heart seemed to skip a beat.

“What did you just call me?”

The man’s gaze was tender as he looked at the girl so close to him, one eyebrow raised slightly.

Laura Lowell bit her lip, her face flushing and heart racing as she lowered her gaze.

“Um, Aiden…

if we don’t hold hands, we probably won’t give ourselves away, right?

This feels a little…

strange.”

“Strange?

Isn’t this how boyfriends and girlfriends are supposed to be?

You’ll get used to it.”

‘We’re fake, fake, fake…

What future is there to talk about?’

Laura Lowell complained silently in her head but didn’t say anything more, letting the man lead her by the hand into the house.

“Young Master, Miss Lowell, you’re back.”

The housekeeper respectfully brought Aiden Shaw and Laura Lowell slippers to change into.

“Hello, Mr.

Shaw, Mrs.

Miller.” Laura Lowell walked into the living room and greeted them with a smile.

“Dear, come sit over here with me.”

Laura Lowell was about to go sit by Marian Miller, but Aiden Shaw was still holding her hand and showed no intention of letting go.

“Laura has to sit next to me.”

Shaw, are you really jealous of your own mother?’

‘The absolute king of jealousy.’

Hearing someone call her so intimately by “Laura,” Laura Lowell’s heart suddenly fluttered as if something had stirred within it, sending ripples spreading out.

In the end, Laura Lowell obediently sat down next to Aiden Shaw.

Marian Miller took Laura Lowell’s hand, her eyes filled with adoration.

“Dear, what do you think of Aiden?”

Suddenly put on the spot, Laura Lowell was caught off guard and looked up at the man beside her.

“Dr.

Sh—…

Aiden is great.

He’s handsome, has a good disposition, and his fashion sense is impeccable.

Most importantly, he’s a doctor.”

Marian Miller gave a knowing smile and asked tentatively, “Since Aiden is so important to you, why don’t we find some time for our family to pay your parents a visit?”

Laura Lowell was so startled she nearly jumped off the sofa.

She quickly declined, “Mr.

Shaw, Mrs.

Miller, my parents don’t know we’re dating yet.”

“That’s alright, dear.

Just hurry up and tell your family.

Mr.

Shaw and I would like to pay them a visit.”

‘Uh…

There’s no need to meet the parents, is there?’

Laura Lowell looked to Aiden Shaw for help, her innocent, pitiful eyes blinking like a gentle little kitten’s.

Aiden Shaw gently ran his warm palm through the girl’s hair, his ocean-deep eyes filled with an incredibly dense and tender affection.

“You like the medical profession?”

Aiden Shaw had clearly heard the girl list all his good qualities, ending with, “Most importantly, he’s a doctor.”

Laura Lowell was taken aback by his abrupt question.

“You don’t like it?”

“No, that’s not it.

When I was little, I really admired doctors.

I even thought about becoming one when I grew up, but it didn’t work out.”

Aiden Shaw was very pleased with Laura Lowell’s answer, a smile touching the corners of his eyes.

“Mom, we want to just date for a while first.

We’re not in a rush for what comes next.”

The implication was that there was no need to visit Laura Lowell’s parents for the time being; it wasn’t the right time yet.

“I’ll listen to you two.

Let’s go eat first.”

“Okay.”

Aiden Shaw led Laura Lowell to the dining room by the hand, pulled out a chair for her like a gentleman, and then sat down beside her.

“Dear, hurry and try some of these dishes.

See if they’re to your liking.”

Laura Lowell looked at the table full of dishes that were a feast for the senses, smiled, and nodded.

“Okay, Mrs.

Miller.”
