Chapter 12: Bugatti and the Beast

Plugged In: Reincarnated As A Demon Lord (Now I'll Conquer The World)

Lucien and Alexel stroll side-by-side through the heart of the freshly rebuilt town, a flawless gem of enchanted stone and sleek infrastructure carved from ambition and audacity.

Townsfolk line the roads, cheering and calling out blessings as their Demon Lord passes, some even tossing petals, others throwing kisses. Lucien, ever the picture of smug royalty, soaks it all in with a grin as wide as his ego.

Alexel, clipboard in hand, rattles off a report.

"All major construction’s complete. We’ve left a finishing team here to wrap up the small stuff. The rest of the crews are already en route to the next village to prepare supplies and scout the terrain."

"I’m proud of you, Lex." Lucien slaps him on the back. "Really proud. And I take care of my hardest workers."

He points toward a particularly opulent carriage in the row ahead. It features gilded trim, soft velvet curtains, and a golden sign over the door that reads ’Royal Architect’.

Alexel blinks, confused. "Wait, is that for—?"

"Go on," Lucien grins.

The moment Alexel steps closer, the door flings open and a pink-haired succubus pops out, clad in a dangerously tight secretary outfit that barely holds back a tsunami of cleavage. Her glasses are more decorative than practical and she squeals the moment she sees Alexel.

"Ooooh! You’re way cuter than Lord Lucidius said!"

Alexel freezes mid-step as she unbuttons her blouse an extra, completely unnecessary, click. "I’m Nysa. Fully certified in stress relief, architectural support, and oral motivation."

Lucien gives him another hearty slap on the back. "Don’t worry, I personally vetted her qualifications. Extensively. She’s all yours."

Alexel’s face goes crimson, his eyes sparkle, and he launches himself into the carriage like a man possessed. The succubus giggles as he immediately buries his face in her chest, slamming the door shut behind them.

Lucien cackles with delight, just as a pair of panties flutters from the next carriage window.

"My Looooord~" comes the twin, teasing voices of Vex and Vile, their two arms emerging from the window, each twirling a lacy souvenir.

Lucien’s breath hitches.

"Two minutes!" he barks, straightening his coat.

Lucien composes himself and waves over Ignara and X’zelle just as they’re about to board their own carriages.

"Status?"

Ignara flicks her lollipop out of her mouth, lips curling smugly. "We’ve added over two hundred new workers. Mostly locals. All signed and loyal. They’ll do whatever we need. Word’s spreading, sire."

Lucien’s grin goes wide. "Excellent."

She raises a brow. "If this keeps up, we won’t need to conquer the Seven Kingdoms. They’ll come crawling to us for trade, knowledge and... magical plumbing."

"Shhh." Lucien smirks, glancing at Serenith who’s still standing suspiciously close to Alexel’s carriage. "Don’t spoil the surprise."

X’zelle steps forward, clipboard in hand. "All job positions in the town are filled. In fact, we had to turn away volunteers. The schools, taverns, even the medical center, all overflowing with talent." She clicks her tongue. "Turns out a lot of qualified folks were just unemployed because no one gave them a chance."

He turns to Ignara. "Thanks, flame-heart. You’re dismissed."

Ignara bows and struts away, hips swaying like a countdown to destruction.

Lucien casually slings an arm around X’zelle’s shoulder next. "As for you... I’ve been meaning to have a more intimate discussion with you, captain."

X’zelle’s many limbs stiffen beneath her cloak.

"I’ve noticed the detail in your reports. The discipline. The devotion. You’ve been holding this operation together with grace and style."

X’zelle’s mouth falls open. She tries to speak, but Lucien holds up a finger.

"I’d like you to ride in my carriage to the next town. There’s a lot I’d like to discuss."

"Didn’t you already promise the twins a ride?" She frowns.

"Oh... yes, I did." Lucien groans with an exaggerated sigh. "What a conundrum. Unless... you don’t mind sharing, do you?"

X’zelle’s extra limbs begin to tremble. "The more the merrier, my lord." She grins.

A little while later...

The carriages rumble over the smooth new cobblestone road, stretching like a scar across the Ashlands.

Serenith sits grumpily on the roof of Lucien’s carriage, legs crossed, wings wrapped tightly around her body as if to ward off the sin steaming from below.

From inside come muffled moans, giggles, the occasional slurp, and Lucien’s voice.

"Serenith, sweetheart! Are you absolutely sure you don’t wanna join us in here? We’re only using about... two-thirds of the space. We’ll scootch up."

Serenith scowls. "I’m fine—"

SMACK~

A bug the size of a small bird slaps her square in the face.

Moments later, she sits inside the carriage, red-faced and scowling.

Lucien is mid-thrust, X’zelle bent over the bench, her limbs dancing across the naked bodies of Vex and Vile who both lie tangled together in post-orgasmic bliss.

Serenith winces, squeezing her eyes shut until Groth’s massive, armored form suddenly looms in the window on her massive warhorse.

"Mother’s mercy!" Serenith yelps before she cracks the window.

Groth, unphased, salutes. "Major problem, my lord. Reports say we’re running low on metal. Been mining a nearby mountain, but had to dig deeper to meet demand. And we found... something."

Lucien, without slowing pace, flicks a pair of panties off his forehead. "Go on, general. Report!"

"We found a dragon. A big one, my lord. Already lost a company of trying to kill it or scare it off. Mining’s stalled."

Lucien blinks. "Dragon?"

"Dragon."

"Dragon!? I need to see this." Lucien’s commands, hips still not stopping, "I’ll deal with it personally. Just give me... about... twenty minutes—"

He grunts, there’s a sharp slam and then several high-pitched moans.

Serenith stares at him, then yelps and covers her face. "How are you even doing that?"

The carriage bursts into laughter.

"It’s not funny!" the angel hisses.

Thirty minutes later, the convoy has stopped halfway to the next town.

Ash and embers swirl around Lucien as he steps out of the carriage. He’s now clad in his full royal battle regalia. Embroidered black leather, crimson gemstone pauldrons, and a crown wreathed in dark flame, radiating demonic swagger from every angle.

Vex and Vile stumble out behind him, half-naked and giggling as they hand him his sword.

X’zelle pokes her head out a window, breathless and flushed. "Magnificent, my lord. You look sinfully magnificent!"

Lucien twirls his sword, tilts the crown, and strikes a dramatic pose. "Naturally."

"Is my mount ready?" he asks.

She gives a nervous nod. "As requested. Though... no one could tame her. She’s gone berserk every time someone even tries to ride her."

Lucien’s eyes light up. "Sounds like my kinda mount."

A dozen muscle-bound demons appear, dragging behind them a snorting, thrashing monster of a steed. Midnight black, hooves of obsidian, a mane of living flame, and smoke curling from its nostrils like a forge about to erupt.

As it nears, it kicks one handler clean through a carriage and headbutts another into a tree.

Lucien’s grin grows wider. Then he gives a single, sharp whistle.

The beast pauses, its molten eyes lock with his. Then it charges. A tornado of flame and fury barreling straight for him.

The women scream but Lucien doesn’t so much as flinch.

At the last moment, he snaps his fingers.

Dust explodes.

And when it clears, the monster mare is seated like a puppy, head bowed, its smoldering breath warming Lucien’s hands as he gently scratches its chin.

"Who’s a good girl?" he coos at the neighing nightmare, "Yes, you are."

The twins scream and surge toward him, showering him in kisses and praise.

X’zelle shouts, "What are you going to name such a mighty beast, m’lord?!"

The girls chime in with suggestions.

"Nightfire!"

"Dreadhoof!"

"Emberblitz!"

Lucien raises a hand. "No. I shall name her..."

He slaps the horse’s flank and it rears up with a roar, spewing fire into the air and radiating magical power like a solar flare.

Lucien leaps into the saddle, presses his forehead against its neck, and whispers.

"...Bugatti."
