Michael remembered that after a Tera Orb was used for one Terastallization, all of the Tera Energy stored inside it would be completely depleted, preventing the Trainer from Terastallizing a second time.

There were two ways to replenish its Tera Energy.

The first was to visit a Pokémon Center in one of the towns and use the Tera Charge Station, a charging device developed by Sada and Turo specifically for Tera Orbs.Full novel: Pokemon: Retired Champion of Paldea — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

However, because Tera Orbs had not yet entered full-scale production, Tera Charge Stations were only available in several of Paldea’s major cities.

Cortondo wasn’t one of them.

The second method was to search for the rare Tera Crystals scattered across the vast lands of the Paldea region.

When a Tera Orb came into contact with one of these crystals, it would automatically absorb Tera Energy and recharge itself.

That method was much more realistic.

Unfortunately, Michael had yet to encounter any Tera Crystals around his farm, so he’d have to wait a while before recharging his Tera Orb.

Michael sighed and gave up on trying to determine the Tera Types of his other Pokémon besides Swampert.

Luxray and Serperior were almost certainly Electric Tera Type and Grass Tera Type respectively.

The only real mysteries were Ceruledge, Mimikyu, and Dragonite.

Arven tugged on Michael’s sleeve and asked curiously, “So…

once you’ve prepared the land, you can just plant crops and harvest ingredients?” Michael pondered for a moment before answering, “Well…

more or less.

As long as you’ve cleared the land and you’re planting something that doesn’t require a very specific season or soil condition, you should be able to grow it.” “But honestly, I only know the basics.

I still haven’t decided what I should plant first.” Arven was left speechless.

Even though he was only ten years old, he could tell just how unreliable Michael sounded.

The man clearly knew almost nothing about farming.

He was practically a complete amateur.

“Big Bro, you…” Arven held it in for a long time but couldn’t figure out what to say.

Michael laughed and gave Arven two hearty pats on the shoulder, nearly making the boy stumble.

“I know exactly what you’re trying to say.” He smiled.

“I also know perfectly well that I’m an amateur.

So why don’t we just ask a professional?” Rubbing his sore shoulder, Arven tilted his head in confusion.

…

Jones Farm was one of Cortondo’s largest suppliers of crops.

The various fruits and vegetables produced here were distributed to dining tables throughout the town and were even shipped to major cities across the Paldea region for sale.

With such a massive sales network, Jones Farm was naturally one of Cortondo’s biggest taxpayers, enjoying preferential treatment from the town’s administration in many respects.

Located some distance west of the land Michael had purchased, Jones Farm also sat on the outskirts of Cortondo, bordering part of the wilderness.

Whether in terms of facilities, working conditions, or the professionalism of its staff, it was leagues beyond the empty farm Michael currently owned.

Outside the farm stood a small guardhouse.

It was just after noon, and through the glass, an elderly guard could be seen reclining comfortably in a lounge chair, fast asleep.

Michael glanced at the inexpensive wristwatch he’d bought for a few hundred Poké Dollars and confirmed that it was already past 2:00 p.m., well beyond the lunch break.

He gently knocked on the glass.

“Sir, we’re here to register as visitors.” The old man had a straw hat covering his face, apparently to block out the afternoon sun.

Only after Michael knocked three more times did he slowly wake up, blinking sleepily at the visitors.

A young man, A child, and…

a dog?

The strange combination left him somewhat puzzled, but he still dutifully stood up, yawned, pulled out the visitor logbook, and asked, “Name?” “Michael Scott.” He smiled.

“I made an appointment to visit earlier.

Please check the schedule.” Hearing that, the old man raised his head and gave Michael a careful look while flipping through the papers with his weathered fingers.

After putting on his reading glasses, he chuckled.

“Well, would you look at that.

You really did schedule a visit for two this afternoon.

Seems this old man overslept.

My apologies.” “It’s alright.” Michael shook his head, showing he didn’t mind.

“As we discussed beforehand, could you please arrange for someone to show us around?” “No problem, no problem.” The old man sighed in relief and immediately reached for the landline to contact the staff inside.

As he began dialing, however, he paused and looked toward Arven and Mabosstiff.

“They are…?” Michael glanced at the pair before answering without changing expression, “My relative’s child and Pokémon.

They happened to need someone to watch them today, so I brought them along.

Would it be alright if you made an exception?” The old man hesitated for a moment before finally placing the call.

Not long afterward, someone arrived.

The newcomer looked to be in his early twenties.

He wore a neat buzz cut, and his bright, lively eyes gave him an unmistakably clear and energetic look.

He seemed to have just come in from the fields.

Fresh, damp soil still clung to the legs of his pants, and a large straw hat hung from his back.

He looked a bit like an oversized version of the Bug Catcher NPCs Michael remembered from the games.

With a broad smile, the young man took over from the elderly guard and led Michael’s group through the gates of Jones Farm.

Jones Farm specialized in crops cultivation, producing fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables throughout the year.

The farm itself wasn’t particularly large, occupying only about half the area of the land Michael had purchased.

However, Michael had divided his own property into different sections, meaning the actual farming area he planned to cultivate was considerably smaller than Jones Farm’s.

As they walked, the young man briefly introduced himself.

His name was Peter, and he was the person in charge of Jones Farm’s fruit and vegetable operations.

Nearly every aspect of cultivation passed through his hands—in other words, he was the resident farming expert.

Peter explained that Mr.

and Mrs.

Jones had been honored to hear that a fellow farmer wanted to learn from them.

Unfortunately, they were currently negotiating business at the market in Cascarrafa and couldn’t spare the time to return and receive their guests.

So the responsibility had fallen to him.

“I heard from the bosses that someone recently bought that abandoned wasteland nearby.” Peter smiled gratefully as he firmly shook Michael’s hand.

“Never expected it to be you!

The bosses had been keeping an eye on that land for quite a while, debating whether they should buy it.

Then you swooped in and beat them to it.

Hahaha!” Michael smiled awkwardly.

He remembered the mayor mentioning that quite a few people had been interested in the property but were still hesitating because of the price.

Meanwhile, after spending a year traveling and saving money, he’d simply paid the full amount outright without hesitation.

He hadn’t expected Mr.

and Mrs.

Jones to be among those interested buyers.

“First come, first served.

Don’t worry about it!” Peter squeezed Michael’s hand a little harder before saying frankly, “Personally, I should be thanking you.

If you hadn’t bought that abandoned land, my workload would’ve at least doubled!” “So, if there’s anything you want to know, just ask!”
