Seeing all the information pop up on the panel, Sinshi froze.
He hadn’t been hit by Hypnosis, and the creature before him wasn’t a transformed Ditto or Zoroark, but a genuine Agumon?!
But what the hell was this ‘Reptile Pokémon’ classification?
Wasn’t it a Digimon?
Could it be that because it changed locations, it automatically switched to another identity?
Has the concept of adaptive nationality spread this fast…?
Various thoughts flashed through Sinshi’s mind as his gaze moved past the panel and landed on Agumon.
Whether it was its body language or its facial expressions, everything was incredibly natural.
Coupled with the data displayed on the panel, Sinshi gradually accepted this seemingly absurd information.
After all, transmigration and system panels had already happened.
A Digimon appearing in the Pokémon world didn’t seem…
like too much of a problem.
Besides, Pokémon and Digimon did share many similarities in their settings.
If someone unfamiliar with them were to look at these two types of creatures, they might not even be able to tell them apart.
But that wasn’t the main point.
Sinshi’s eyes scanned up and down the panel, finally stopping at the column for Agumon’s base stats.
After a moment of silence, he muttered softly to himself, “High speed, a mixed attacker, and its resistances aren’t bad either.
Whether it’s the base stat total or the individual stat distribution, it’s quite impressive.”
Whether it was the starter Pokémon of various regions or the pseudo-Legendary Pokémon with immense potential and base stats rivaling Legendary Pokémon, their base stats in their initial stages were only around 300.
Yet Agumon was currently higher than them by nearly several dozen points.
The key was that these extra points were distributed incredibly reasonably.
What kind of concept was this?
One had to know that the higher the base stats, the higher the upper limit of a Pokémon’s six core stats—HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.
Under equal conditions, a Pokémon with high base stats facing one with low base stats would have an absolute innate advantage in both potential and combat power.
The current Agumon possessed exactly this advantage.
And those it trampled beneath its feet were precisely the initial forms of starter Pokémon and pseudo-Legendaries, which were renowned for their extremely high cultivation value.
No, it probably wasn’t just the initial stage…
It was highly likely that it would present an all-around crushing advantage across all stages.
As everyone knew, if one wanted to increase their base stats to stage a comeback, there was only one path—Evolution!
When the vast majority of Pokémon reached a certain level or were stimulated by strong external factors, causing them to evolve, their base stats would undergo earth-shattering changes.
These changes would be directly reflected in their six core stats.
Aside from a few that remained unchanged or decreased, most Pokémon’s stats would experience a massive leap.
Some Pokémon would even undergo a change in temperament and personality.
However, since they were living creatures, there was naturally a limit to their evolution.
Every Pokémon had a limit to the number of times it could undergo normal evolution.
Some couldn’t evolve at all, some could evolve once, and at most, twice.
Only a few special Pokémon, after completing their normal evolutions, could break through their own limits and undergo an additional evolution through the resonance between a Key Stone and a Mega Stone—this was known as Mega Evolution.
Just as Professor Rowan said: Every evolution of a Pokémon is a metamorphosis, pushing it closer to ‘perfection’.
These Mega-Evolved Pokémon, having broken their limiters and gradually approaching perfection, would gain extraordinarily powerful strength.
This power allowed their base stats, which had been fixed after their normal evolutions ended, to loosen once more.
Their combat power would skyrocket, allowing them to easily crush opponents who were evenly matched with them prior to Mega Evolution.
The cream of the crop among them could even possess the ability to go toe-to-toe with the true ceiling-level Legendary Pokémon of a region.
The total number of evolutions for such Pokémon ‘gradually approaching perfection’ added up to a maximum of three times.
Yet Agumon could also evolve three times, and that was three times *after* already having evolved.
Currently in its Rookie stage, it still had three more forms: Champion, Ultimate, and Mega.
With each evolution into a different stage, a Digimon’s strength would increase exponentially.
Especially in its Mega form.
Sinshi personally felt that Agumon in this form would completely outclass even those powerful pseudo-Legendary Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution.
After all, if it crushed them in its initial form, would it really be overtaken after three evolutions of equal intensity?
Sinshi believed it was impossible.
Moreover, above the Mega level WarGreymon, there were even more powerful forms, and that…
was Agumon’s true limit!
If they truly managed to reach that step in the future, the only ones capable of being Agumon’s opponents would likely be the few Pokémon with heaven-defying talents, as well as those Legendary Pokémon.
Thinking even higher…
“Calculating it like this, a Pokémon-branded Agumon doesn’t seem unacceptable at all.
In fact, you could even say…
I’ve struck gold!”
Sinshi’s gaze toward Agumon gradually grew heated.
Standing opposite him, Agumon felt Sinshi’s stare and scratched its head in confusion and slight embarrassment.
Finally unable to hold back, it spoke up first, “Excuse me, why are you staring at me like that?
Have we met before?”
“No.”
“Then…
have you heard about me?”
“Yeah, your very appearance is a story in itself.”
Hearing this, Agumon frowned.
Its large green eyes darted back and forth as if it were trying hard to recall something, but eventually, it gave up and raised a claw to point at where the passage had just appeared.
“Even though you say that, I still don’t have any impression of it.
But since you know me, could you please tell me where in the Digital World we are?
I have some urgent matters and need to hurry back to File Island.”
“This isn’t the Digital World.”
“Huh?”
Sinshi’s words clearly exceeded Agumon’s scope of understanding.
It stared at Sinshi for a long time before slowly saying, “Now that you mention it, I just noticed you look different from all the Digimon I’ve ever seen.
Could it be…
are you a human?”
‘Are you a human…’
Hearing this uncertain and questioning tone, Sinshi couldn’t help but guess that this Agumon had probably never seen a human before.
After all, human characteristics were too obvious.
If it had seen one, even with Agumon’s intellect, it would have easily recognized him.
Yet, it had asked him instead.
In that case, there was a high probability it had never met Taichi Yagami either.
In other words, the Agumon before him wasn’t the one from the anime.
A peculiar feeling welled up in Sinshi’s heart.
A brand-new, completely undeveloped, first-hand Pokémon-branded Digimon…
He wondered what it would become after his training.
After asking a few more questions, Sinshi began to get to know Agumon on a deeper level.
