“Hm?

Isn’t that…

the guy who summoned that unknown Pokémon?” Not far from Lucas , a delicate-looking young girl noticed him and raised an eyebrow in curiosity.Full novel: Pokémon Era: Starting with Palkia — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Emily .

Ever since Lucas had summoned that unknown Pokémon, she had been curious about him.

She hadn’t expected to run into him again on only his second day as a Pokémon Trainer.

She had noticed him the moment he entered the Trading Center.

Judging by what she saw, he seemed to have exchanged a batch of ferocious beast materials for contribution points and money.

But he had only just become a One-Star Trainer.

Where had he gotten so many ferocious beast materials?

Emily kept her beautiful eyes fixed on Lucas .

She watched as he left the Trading Center and headed to the Item Shop, where he spent quite some time talking with the shop assistant.

Yet when he finally came out, all he had purchased were two large, sturdy backpacks.

It made no sense.

“Why would he buy such huge backpacks?

Is he planning to go traveling?” Although she was curious about Lucas , Emily didn’t approach him or draw attention to him.

She simply watched from the side until he left the Trading Center before walking over to the item counter herself.

“I’d like one batch of the highest-quality Ice and Water-type Pokémon food, the kind mixed with Four-Star magical beast meat.” The moment the clerk heard that, he knew she was a major customer and immediately greeted her enthusiastically.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Emily casually asked, “What was that young man asking about just now?” The clerk looked somewhat troubled.

Normally, customers’ information wasn’t supposed to be disclosed…

“I’ll also take two of everything I just ordered.

And add a bottle of Thousand-Year Glacier Water.” Thousand-Year Glacier Water was a premium nutritional supplement with remarkable effects on Ice- and Water-type Pokémon.

Naturally, it was extremely expensive.

The clerk’s eyes lit up with delight and immediately answered her question.

“He only bought two backpacks made from One-Horn Bull hide.” “That’s all?” “Yes.

Actually, he originally wanted to buy a storage item, but he didn’t have enough contribution points, so he settled for buying backpacks with cash instead.” “A storage item?” What did he need something like that for?

Emily was even more surprised.

Storage items did exist in this world.

They were crafted using a rare material known as Space Stones.

These mysterious stones naturally contained an internal pocket dimension that varied in size.

After being processed by skilled craftsmen, they could be made into pendants, bracelets, rings, and all kinds of accessories.

However, because Space Stones were incredibly scarce, even one with only a single cubic foot of storage space sold for an astronomical price.

Ordinary families simply couldn’t afford one.

“What does he need a storage item for?” Her curiosity only deepened.

Lucas let out a sigh.

Money really was something you could never have enough of.

A Space Stone with only one cubic foot of storage cost a full 1,000 contribution points!

That was equivalent to the price of an advanced skill.

Given his current financial situation, there was no way he could afford one, so he had no choice but to settle for two leather backpacks instead.

Afterward, Lucas headed to the Pokémon Medical Center to check on Gastly’s condition.

Only one or two hours had passed, yet Gastly’s injuries had already recovered for the most part.

The medical system in this world combined both advanced technology and Pokémon abilities.

The technological side required no explanation.

The Pokémon side consisted of healing Pokémon capable of recovery moves, such as Chansey’s Soft-Boiled, Chimecho’s Heal Bell, and Miltank’s Milk Drink.

“Your Gastly has mostly recovered.

It just needs to rest for a while longer before making a full recovery,” the nurse said sweetly.

Lucas thanked her and paid 300 credits for the treatment.

Afterward, he took Gastly to complete its official registration, which cost him another contribution point.

Every newly obtained Pokémon had to be officially registered with its Trainer.

Otherwise, it would be regarded as a wild Pokémon and expelled from the safety of the base.

When the staff member asked whether he wanted to spend another contribution point to determine Gastly’s official star rating, Lucas immediately declined.

First, he wanted to save money.

Second…

He simply didn’t need it.

After all, he possessed the Eye of Insight.

By the time he finished everything at the Pokémon Center, he still had over three thousand credits left along with six contribution points.

Lucas was in an excellent mood.

After returning home, he immediately sent Palkia out to continue grinding for experience.

Now that Gastly had joined the team, he was even more confident.

At first, Lucas accompanied them into the wilderness.

However, after realizing there was virtually no danger, he simply let the two Pokémon form a team and hunt on their own.

Gastly, with its Rare Aptitude at Level 19 (Two-Star), was already comparable to an ordinary Three-Star ferocious beast.

Palkia was even more outrageous.

After observing it for a while, Lucas discovered that despite being only Level 5 (One-Star), it could fight Three-Star ferocious beasts head-on without any disadvantage.

A Legendary Pokémon’s Aptitude allowed it to challenge enemies nearly two stars above its own.

It was truly terrifying.

Palkia defeated a Level 16 (Two-Star Ferocious Beast) Jungle Raccoon.

Gained 619 EXP.

Palkia leveled up to Level 6!

(220/600) Obtained: Jungle Raccoon Pelt ×1, Raccoon Claws ×4, 30 pounds of Jungle Raccoon Meat.

Gastly defeated a Level 15 (Two-Star Ferocious Beast) Great Fangwolf.

Gained 505 EXP.

Gastly leveled up to Level 20!

(15/10000) Obtained: Complete Great Fangwolf Pelt…

Gastly defeated a Level 14 (Two-Star Ferocious Beast) Razorfang Porcupine.

Gained 310 EXP.

Gastly Level 20 (325/10000) Gastly learned a new move: Will-O-Wisp!

Obtained: Porcupine Fangs ×2, Long Porcupine Quills ×68!

After another half day of effortless grinding, both Pokémon had grown considerably.

Gastly had even learned the new move Will-O-Wisp.

Lucas discovered that a Pokémon’s chance of naturally learning new moves was closely related to its Aptitude.

The higher its Aptitude, the greater the probability of awakening new Moves on its own.

As for Will-O-Wisp, in the games it dealt no direct damage.

But in reality…

It was an invisible weapon that injured its target without them realizing it, making it an exceptional move for ambushes.

Once a Will-O-Wisp landed on someone, an unsuspecting victim might not even notice they had been inflicted with a burn.

If the Pokémon Center were selling this move, it would easily be worth at least 100 contribution points.
