Their eyes met, both filled with curiosity and unfamiliarity.

“What…

is this?” Lucas finally blurted out after a long silence, the corners of his mouth twitching.Full novel: Pokémon Era: Starting with Palkia — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Gawu~” The little creature in his arms waved its tiny hands, completely ignoring Lucas ‘s stunned expression.

Laughing cheerfully, it wrapped both arms around his neck.

“Oh!

It looks like it’s a brand-new, undiscovered species of Pokémon,” the recorder remarked curiously as he adjusted his glasses.

“Did you all see that?

It’s a previously undiscovered Pokémon!” “Really?

What does it look like?

Is it cool?

Is it cute?” The moment they heard someone had summoned a new species, the crowd below immediately erupted into excitement.

Not only the recorder and the surrounding spectators—even Lucas himself was unfamiliar with the little creature that had suddenly appeared.

Looking at it closely…

it resembled the Spatial Pokémon, Palkia.

It had the same upright, dinosaur-like body, the same purple markings covering its body, and pale pink pearl-like gems embedded in the backs of its hands and around its neck.

But this little fellow was far smaller than the Palkia Lucas remembered.

It possessed none of the overwhelming pressure of a Legendary Pokémon.

Instead…

It was actually rather adorable.

Left with no other choice, he relied on the Eye of Insight.

A stream of light flashed before his eyes, revealing the little Pokémon’s true identity.

Young Palkia Level: 1 (One-Star Pokémon) Aptitude: Legendary Type: Water, Dragon Abilities: Pressure, Telepathy Moves: Dragon Breath, Scary Face, Water Gun, Dragon Claw With the help of the Eye of Insight, Lucas finally confirmed it.

This little fellow was genuinely Palkia.

It was simply still in its juvenile stage.

Looking at the mischievous little Pokémon in his arms, Lucas couldn’t help feeling a surge of anticipation.

“Excuse me,” the recorder asked politely, “because the Pokémon you’ve summoned is a currently undiscovered species, would you mind cooperating with us by letting us take a photograph and register it?” There were still many Pokémon in this world that had never been officially recorded.

In some cases, no one had ever summoned them before.

In others, someone had, but for various reasons, the information had been deliberately concealed.

Lucas smiled calmly and nodded.

“Of course.” The staff member smiled gratefully.

After taking several photographs, she provided Lucas with one packet of Pokémon food for every elemental type free of charge.

“Since this little one belongs to an undiscovered species, you’ll have to experiment with different kinds of food to see what it likes.

As for its Abilities, moves, and other characteristics, you’ll need to explore them yourself.

Of course, if you discover anything new, you’re always welcome to report it to us.

We’ll reward you accordingly.” Lucas accepted the Pokémon food with a smile and thanked her.

“And here’s your One-Star Trainer badge, which represents your official status as a One-Star Trainer.

One-Star Trainers receive village-level Federation subsidies…” The staff member handed him a finely crafted badge along with an envelope containing his subsidy.

Lucas roughly counted the money inside.

There were about three thousand Federation credits.

For an ordinary family living in a small town, that was roughly an entire month’s salary.

Perhaps because Lucas had cooperated so willingly during the registration, the staff member patiently continued explaining.

“The Federation provides different monthly subsidies according to a Trainer’s star rank.

“A One-Star Trainer receives a village-level subsidy of 3,000 credits per month.

“A Two-Star Trainer receives a town-level subsidy of 10,000 credits.

“And a Three-Star Trainer receives a district-level subsidy of 50,000 credits every month.” “Then why don’t you mention the Federation’s strongest Six-Star Trainers?” another staff member teased with a giggle.

“National-level Trainers receive one million credits every month!” She then turned to Lucas with an encouraging smile.

“But don’t aim too high just yet, young man.

Take things one step at a time.

Set yourself a small goal first—work toward becoming a Two-Star Trainer.” Lucas scratched the back of his head and nodded with an innocent smile.

“By the way,” the first staff member continued, “since this is your first summoned Pokémon, you have the right to give it a name.

Would you like to?” Without the slightest hesitation, Lucas answered, “Its name is Palkia.” As time passed, the commotion below gradually settled.

Some people were naturally envious that Lucas had successfully summoned a Pokémon.

However, most Trainers who had already summoned Pokémon didn’t pay much attention to his mysterious partner.

Those who had summoned particularly powerful Pokémon even looked down on it.

After all, an unknown Pokémon wasn’t necessarily a strong one.

When Farfetch’d was first summoned years ago, it had attracted just as much attention.

Later, people discovered that the leek-carrying Pokémon’s most remarkable feature seemed to be that…

its leek tasted rather good.

…

Watching the unknown boy slowly step down from the crystal platform, Emily , who had summoned Lapras earlier, leaned casually against a nearby wall.

Her gaze lingered curiously on the little Palkia in Lucas ‘s arms.

The sight immediately soured Michael’s mood.

With an indifferent snort, he said, “I’ve never even seen that guy at school.

He’s obviously some nobody from the middle of nowhere.Emily , there’s no need to pay attention to someone like him.” The two clearly knew each other.

However, after hearing those words, Emily looked at Michael as if he were an idiot.

“At least he’s better than someone who couldn’t even summon a Pokémon,” she replied softly.

Then she lazily stretched before calmly walking away.

Meanwhile, Michael remained rooted to the spot, completely dumbfounded, his face alternating between green and purple with embarrassment.
