“Your Chansey is very well trained.
Her level is very high,” Serena praised.
“She decided to follow me on her own initiative,” Rachel said, showing a faint smile.
“Chaansseeyyy!” Chansey also cried out happily.
A certain commotion began to be felt in the stands.
“Isn’t that Nurse Joy’s exclusive Pokémon?” “It’s the first time I’ve seen Chansey outside a Pokémon Center!” “That Audino from before seems to be the partner of foreign Nurse Joys.” “Then this beauty, Rachel Blake, isn’t she a specialized healer?” Some people did not even record Rachel’s battle to the end.
They cut the video right here, gave it a catchy title like “A Beautiful Healer Appears Shockingly!” and uploaded it to the forum, wanting to get ahead of others and occupy a portion of the views.
Surely, after this battle, Rachel’s fame would not be inferior to that of many advanced players.
A healer in the early stages was an extremely sought-after existence.
On the field, the battle still continued.
The two beauties looked at each other with mutual admiration.
“Sylveon, use Quick Attack.” “Chansey, use Double-Edge.” Bang!
In an instant, both Pokémon lost a certain amount of health.
But Chansey, after all, had a lot of HP, so Sylveon seemed to be in a somewhat unfavorable situation.
After that came another round of attrition.
And for two Pokémon of similar levels and speeds, the probability of dodging was almost equivalent.
HP was consumed like running water.
Finally, after paying the price of most of her HP, Chansey knocked down Sylveon.
“Come back, Sylveon.
You worked hard.” Serena recalled Sylveon and sent out Delphox.
[Delphox: Level 36] Delphox is the final form of one of the Kalos starters and is extremely powerful, both in moves and base stats.
“Chansey, use Soft-Boiled,” Rachel said nervously.
If Chansey was used well, she could rely on Soft-Boiled to continuously wear down the opponent.
“Delphox, use Future Sight.” Future Sight would erupt two turns later.
It was a major Psychic-type move with extremely high damage.
Serena looked at Rachel.
With this, how will you respond?
When a strange psychic energy sank into the void, Rachel felt somewhat confused.
What kind of move exactly was Future Sight?
“Chansey, use Take Down.” Take Down was a move with 90 power.
Although it was Normal type, when used by Chansey, it would probably have power similar to Tackle from a Pokémon of the same level.
“Delphox, use Flame Charge.” Bang!
Both sides collided, and the loss of HP was similar.
Even so, the damage from Flame Charge was greater.
“Chansey, keep using Take Down.” “Delphox, use Flame Charge.” Chansey’s weakness from having no TMs was impossible to hide.
At this stage, Chansey was ultimately still only a healer.
Collision after collision, flames scattered.
Although midway through the battle Chansey managed to use Soft-Boiled once more, the instant the effect of Future Sight fell, Chansey ended up with low HP.
Everyone was astonished by that move.
They did not even know where that attack had come from.
“Chansey, use Soft-Boiled.” “I won’t let you use it successfully!
Delphox, give Chansey the final Psybeam.” In the end, Soft-Boiled was interrupted, and Delphox remained on the field with one third of its HP.
Finally, Rachel sent out Tauros.
[Tauros: Level 29] “So she really captured it,” Logan murmured.
This Tauros had enough strength to end in a draw with Heracross and Hawlucha.
And that was taking into account that Normal type was countered by Fighting type.
“Your Pokémon are the strongest among all the players who have challenged me,” Serena said.
“But even so, I won’t let you obtain victory easily.” “Delphox, use Future Sight.” “Tauros, use Horn Attack.” Bang!
Delphox’s HP dropped another section.
“Delphox, use Psybeam.” “Tauros, use Revenge.” Psybeam and Revenge landed one after another.
As for power, the difference was not great.
But Delphox had already lost the ability to fight.
Serena recalled Delphox and finally sent out Pancham.
The gym battle was carried out in a 3-on-3 format.
The previous challengers could not even defeat the first Pokémon, much less the third.
The spectators could not help holding their breath.
No one expected that this seemingly gentle beauty had so much strength.
Especially that Chansey: no one could see her level.
Tauros’s special defense was very weak, and at that moment, it only had half of its HP left.
“Pancham, give Tauros the final Karate Chop.” “Cham!” Pancham touched the sunglasses on its forehead and charged with Karate Chop.
“Tauros, use Revenge.” Rachel still did not understand the meaning of “final” and ordered Tauros to attack.
Under the advantage relationship, Karate Chop made Tauros lose one fourth of its HP.
The power of Revenge was not bad either, and Pancham also lost quite a lot of health.
The only one present capable of understanding the meaning of Serena’s words was Logan.
Now was the moment when the residue left behind by Delphox, Future Sight, was going to erupt.
Logan slightly closed his eyes.
The result was already decided.
Rachel was still too inexperienced.
At that instant.
As if Pandora’s box had been opened, a strange attack descended from above and bombarded Tauros’s body directly.
It was precisely Future Sight, which had remained silent for two turns.
In barely an instant, Tauros fell to the ground and was recalled by Rachel, who had a regretful expression.
Logan did not say anything.
But the spectators could not help sighing.
They had seen too many challengers be easily defeated by Serena.
They had finally seen someone with a sufficiently high level and hope of winning, but even so, she was defeated by Serena.
At that moment, both ordinary players and advanced players felt with extreme clarity the distance between themselves and the Gym Leaders.
Gym Leaders were existences that current players could not reach.
For a moment, everything fell silent.
“And the next challenger?” “Go up!
You chose the regional tournament, and you don’t even dare challenge a gym?” “With so many advanced players here, is there no one who can fight against the leader?” An uproar sounded in the stands.
If not even Rachel could win, how could advanced players whose average levels were still between Level 18 and Level 19 be opponents?
For a moment, those advanced players who had originally been eager to try stopped speaking.
Go up now to be slaughtered by a beauty?
Even if Serena held back, would they not even be able to defeat one of her Pokémon?
That would simply be making a fool of themselves.
Someone like Rachel, who could gain popularity even while losing, was a minority after all.
The three Pokémon had already recovered their strength.
Serena said, “Players, is there anyone else who wants to challenge me?
If no one challenges, I will temporarily close the gym.” Her beautiful and charming figure was, in the eyes of many players, the symbol of invincibility.
“Does no one really want to challenge?” Serena asked again.
A trace of joy appeared in the corners of her eyes.
The competition between Gym Leaders was also intense.
Especially on the first day.
If she gave out a large number of badges on the first day, it would be a huge humiliation.
Current players had obtained their starter Pokémon barely two days ago, at most!
If no one challenged, Serena could close the gym and calmly pass the first day.
Some advanced players were restless, but in the end, they sighed and said nothing.
Nolan looked at those people with contempt.
Did they not even have the courage to fight?
“Then…” Serena suddenly felt somewhat bored.
The atmosphere of this world was too different from that of the Kalos region.
“I’ll challenge!” A clear and lively voice came from the stands.
Rachel’s eyes lit up.
After observing for so long, was he finally going to act?
“Challenger Logan Cross officially challenges the Seloria Gym!” (End of Chapter) PKGO-En
