“System, where is this?”

Kain looked at the vast sea ahead and asked the system that had brought him across.

However, the system did not reply at all, acting like a mute that could not say anything.Full novel: Pokémon: I Thought This Was A Beast-Taming World! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

If Kain could not still see the system interface, he would have thought the system had run away.

But the current state of affairs was pretty much the same as running away.

“Hiss, how could I be so unlucky to end up in a world with zero information, and the system is just an idiot that only knows how to teleport and not how to reply—unlucky, unlucky.”

Kain supported his head in distress.

Suddenly, a blue figure made a Splash from the sea, and then returned to the sea, and the splashing waves drew the attention of Kain.

“Forget it, since I have arrived on this godforsaken island, I might as well survive on this deserted island first.”

Kain said helplessly and just stood up.

A virtual gift box appeared before his eyes, seemingly waiting for him to open it.

“Ha, system, I knew you loved me and would not abandon me.”

Kain said with pleasant surprise; he knew how a transmigrator could possibly have nothing—so it was here all along.

He had wronged the system; it was not a foolish system.

Without any nonsense, Kain immediately clicked on the gift box.

Bang!

With a soft, minor sound, the gift box opened, flashing with golden light from within.

Then, nothing happened.

Kain looked at his empty palms and the dissipating gift box.

What on earth did he just do?

Did he just open an emptiness to loneliness, with nothing at all?

“For real?”

Before Kain could react, he felt a tremor in the ground.

“An… an earthquake?”

Kain looked ahead in shock and saw tremendous changes happening in the area ahead, with a massive manor appearing out of thin air.

“Is… is this what came out of the gift box?”

Kain muttered to himself.

Then he walked towards the manor and arrived at the front gate, hearing a mechanical voice, “Beep, master Kain detected, welcome home, master.”

Bang!

The door was opened, revealing the scenery inside.

“It is actually intelligently controlled.”

Kain saw the situation; this was an intelligently controlled gate.

People without proper permissions could not enter here.

Thinking about this, Kain stepped into the manor, and with a bang, the gate closed automatically.

Walking on the pebble-paved path, Kain came into the hall.

“Will this place belong to me from now on, system? System? System?”

Kain asked with a smile, but after finding out that he could not even summon the interface anymore, he realized something.

His system seemed to have run away.

“It gave me a manor and then ran away; this system still has some humanity, otherwise it could have just abandoned me directly. So, am I supposed to live relying on these supplies?”

Kain quickly accepted the fact that the system had run away.

However, why did the system not tell him what kind of world this was?

But thinking of the creature that flashed by in the sea, Kain felt that this world was still quite dangerous.

Otherwise, he might as well just stay here; anyway, the manor had food and seeds left by the system.

He could totally live on this island, and this lifestyle was pretty nice.

The only thing was that he could only stay on this island, and he did not know how the security measures of the manor rewarded by the system were, and whether they could block the attacks of other creatures.

…

Three days later!

Kain was eating lunch while gazing at the distant ocean.

“It has been three days, and the system still has not responded. It seems it really has left, and I do not understand this world at all, except for encountering a golden carp. I did not expect the carp in this world to be so huge.”

Kain said, casually taking a Berry and throwing it into the small lake.

Plop, plop~

A golden carp over a meter long in the lake swallowed this Berry in one bite.

Then it did a carp flip, leaped into the air, turned over, and landed in the lake again.

“This is the authentic carp flip.”

Kain laughed when he saw this.

As for this golden carp, Kain had met it at the beach the day before yesterday; it seemed to have encountered something and was lying on the shore dying.

At that time, Kain was really surprised that the carp in another world could grow so large, actually reaching a length of nearly one meter.

Out of kindness, Kain carried this golden carp to the small lake in his backyard.

Then he raised it himself.

Within a few days, this golden carp became larger and larger, and its relationship with him grew closer.

However, the system was really awesome; there was a small lake in the manor, surrounded by dozens of fruit trees, but the Berries on the fruit trees were colorful.

Kain did not dare to eat them easily upon seeing them.

With curiosity, he picked a red, apple-like Berry and tasted it.

How should he put it, there was a tingling sensation, but it was not poisonous, and the juice of the Berry was very abundant.

Then he let this carp try it, but it did not like the red Berries; it liked the blue Berries.

“Oh, staying here seems pretty nice, carefree, much better than living like a beast of burden in my past life. The only bad thing is that I am the only person on this island. Never mind, those creatures look very powerful, and this place is quite safe.”

Kain complained a few casual words; after all, he had seen the dangers of this world yesterday.

A long blue creature popped out of the sea and started fighting with a creature flying in the sky.

Kain saw the power of these two creatures—the power of water and the power of hurricanes.

His neck felt cold just watching it; if these attacks hit him, he might end up torn to pieces.

Therefore, he was also glad that his manor was very safe.

“Little carp, oh little carp, why do you think this world is so dangerous?”

Kain said while petting the carp in the lake.

Puff~ puff~ puff~

The carp just kept looking at Kain, blowing bubbles from its mouth, letting Kain stroke its scales.

“Forget it, you cannot understand what I am saying anyway. Let us leave it at that; from now on, you are a member of this place. Anyway, raising you does not require much food; two Berries and you will be full.”

After thinking about it, Kain felt he was really silly, talking to a carp like that.

Even if it was a very large, golden carp, it could not possibly understand human speech.

Bang!

The carp jumped in the lake, responding to Kain.

“Haha, let us leave it at that.”

Kain laughed heartily and went to wash his bowls and chopsticks.
