After leaving the Rustboro City Breeder Association, Ronan headed straight for the station.

As for Muye’s business, Ronan wasn’t worried about whether Mr.

Howard would agree.Full novel: Pokémon : Leisurely Daily Life in the Pokémon World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He had initially approached the matter with a ‘worth a shot’ attitude, wanting to exchange for or purchase a few Miltank from Mr.

Howard’s Moomoo Farm.

As the largest Miltank ranch in the Johto region, Mr.

Howard’s Miltank were famous throughout the Pokémon world; the only thing comparable was the milk produced by Gogoat in the Kalos region.

It was a pity that the Kalos region was so far from the Hoenn continent; otherwise, Ronan would have really liked to get a few Skiddo.

After all, Skiddo’s evolved form, Gogoat, could not only produce high-quality milk but also serve as an excellent mount.

Ronan actually preferred Gogoat over Miltank.

With some training, they could even help him watch over the ranch.

Although Miltank could possess a certain level of combat power after training—for instance, Mr.

Howard had a Gym-level Miltank that was not only strong but also produced delicious Moomoo Milk— Gogoat was a Grass-type Pokémon, after all.

As an expert in breeding Grass-type Pokémon, Ronan could certainly offer a few pointers on how to raise Skiddo.

However, when it came to a Normal-type Pokémon like Miltank, Ronan was a bit out of his element.

Although he possessed the skills of a high-level Breeder, that didn’t mean he knew how to raise every species.

A Breeder’s relationship to a Pokémon was similar to a nutritionist’s relationship to an athlete, only with even greater importance.

A Trainer was like a coach.

For a naturally gifted person, a nutritionist’s advice might help them achieve a stronger physique and faster reflexes.

But an excellent coach could turn a naturally gifted person into a naturally gifted athlete.

While Breeders indeed played a very important role in improving a Pokémon’s strength, the Trainer was the one who played the critical role.

Nevertheless, Ronan was only introducing Miltank because he craved their Moomoo Milk.

They didn’t need top-tier potential.

As Ronan’s Breeding Center grew, the number of Pokémon would surely increase, and the demand for Moomoo Milk would rise significantly.

If he could introduce a group of Miltank, it would not only meet the needs of the Breeding Center but also add a new product to its inventory.

Moomoo Milk wasn’t just for Pokémon; humans could consume it as well.

Furthermore, Moomoo Milk was not cheap.

A 1000ml bottle sold for 3,000 League Coins, whereas an average family spent only sixty or seventy League Coins on a single meal.

Anything related to Pokémon was never cheap, which was why it was so difficult for commoner Trainers to make a name for themselves.

The massive burden of raising Pokémon was more than an average family could bear.

After returning to Aoba Town from Rustboro City, Ronan went straight to the Breeding Center.

He had already handed over the ranch’s affairs to Audino and planned to stay at the Breeding Center for the next few days to prepare for the opening.

The following day, the Breeding Institute delivered the Pokémon Eggs Ronan had ordered to Aoba Town.

Ronan arranged the Yellow-potential eggs in the glass display cases according to their species.

Various Pokémon Eggs rested on black cushions.

Although there were only just over a hundred eggs, it was enough to fill the display cases of the Breeding Center.

Out of the twenty Clamperl eggs, Ronan didn’t put them all up for sale.

Instead, he selected ten eggs with better potential and placed them in nutrient solution to await hatching.

The pearls produced by Clamperl were a precious medicinal ingredient.

Pearls produced by long-lived Clamperl could even be used to concoct medicines required by Psychic-type Pokémon.

However, such Clamperl were very rare.

Weak Clamperl in the wild often became food for other wild Pokémon and could hardly survive.

Furthermore, those that evolved into Gorebyss or Huntail after happening upon a Deep Sea Scale or Deep Sea Tooth lost their ability to produce pearls.

Not many people were willing to raise Clamperl, a Pokémon with a long cycle, slow returns, and high costs.

Consequently, high-quality pearls rarely appeared on the market.

Therefore, Ronan planned to raise some Clamperl himself, specifically to produce pearls for his own use.

He didn’t plan to use them all for ordinary pearls, though; he intended to keep one or two to produce aged pearls for a very precious medicine.

Even pearls from short-term breeding would be enough to supply Ronan’s general needs.

Ronan planned to release this batch of Clamperl into the spring on the back mountain.

Many medicinal herbs grew near that spring, and Ronan had recently obtained an interesting item from the System that would allow him to transform the area around the spring into a place rich with life force.

He was confident he could shorten the time it took for the Clamperl to produce pearls and improve their quality.

Once this batch of Clamperl hatched, Ronan would send them to the back mountain spring to be raised.

After a year or so, he would be able to harvest high-quality pearls.
